Tripadeal, why are you making this all so hard? We just want to be treated fairly. None of us asked for this. Don't keep people's money where no service has been provided. If you do the right thing and give people their money back, have some faith that people will rebook with you down the track when things get back to normal. We should not have to resort to legal action, ACCC or Fair Trading to get back what is rightfully ours.

I have written a couple of reviews on your company, they have not been very kind about the company, but they have been 100% honest, so please stop rejecting them, people need to know what sort of a company you really are running and avoid you at all cost.

down right un Australian!!!!!!! took our money last year for a trip this month and wont refund!!!!!
They certainly are a truly horrid company and have caused so much heartache to so many people, their has been a class action started against them with Slater and Gordon, we have jumped on board and so should everyone.

Has anyone noticed the recent flurry of glowing reviews from well wisher’s and supposed customers (aka employees) of TAD. I direct your attention to Bev “wonderful staff team members” review. Doesn’t address any trips she has purchased, just fulsome congratulations to a group of TAD employees.
TAD is desperately doing anything to maintain their star rating....crooks.

I do find it confusing when 'people' are raving about a company when they are not providing proper assistance to others. It sounds very sus to me.
Agreed...very curious.

Just wondering how you are coming along dealing with lost holidays. Ours was booked for October. Turkey etc. when can we expect to hear from you.
3 answers
After an initial hopeful start, a recent reply dashed the idea of any refund. My holiday was cancelled (on 17th March), 3 quarters through, with my 4 remaining flights cancelled, hotels, food, tours, all gone......
You could be lucky, and conditions could be returned to "normal" by October.
I don't think any of us have any chance of a fair outcome, we are dealing with a company that actually only cares about their profit margins not the fair treatment of their customers. Just wish I hadn't told so many people how good TAD were, you really can't tell the calibre of a company until you see how they react under pressure.
Well I think that will be the end of their business if they don’t do the right thing.

Ask TaD in writing for a full refund. Keep a copy as you will need it.
* If you paid by credit card - ask bank for a charge back
* Contact consumer affairs in your state to register a complaint and ask for support.
* Contact ACCC to register complaint about the company, they will not help you but will take action
against a company if enough complaints.
* Register with Slater and Gordon re the class action.
Do ALL of these things plus contact any tv, radio, newspaper or magazine and provide them your story.
The terms and conditions you booked under cannot be changed. Old version you probably booked under ( pre covid ) is posted further down these Q&A

I am puzzled that you can offer a package to Samoa from New Zealand from October 2020 onwards. Do you have knowledge of flights being possible by then or are you just hoping? Our May booking to Samoa was obviously cancelled because of Covid 19 and we want to go this year. Information please.

Let's all put a Slater and Gordon class action regarding getting refunds instead of credit vouchers which we might be able to use anyway .

Hi I have a holiday in October through trip a deal . Wanting to cover all my bases in regards to a refund, I spoke to Slater and Gordon . They are still getting people to register there interest about refunds and not vouchers . the place to register here . https://www.slatergordon.com.au/class-actions/current-class-actions/travel-vouchers. For us we need to click on tours and cruises . Hope this helps us all .
Thank you I will define doing this
I will do this tomorrow as I booked in August last year and have never received an itinerary. I had a reply to my email stating if I cancel I lose 11000, as there is still chance my trip in September may go ahead. This is not fair as we well know it won’t go ahead can’t even travel out of state. Trip a deal have had my money 10 months no itinerary no nothing they have had months to return money. This was to be my honeymoon, I have lost my wedding now it seems my money for honeymoon saved for so long will not be returned. Looking at all the reviews it seems people are not receiving any of there money and only give minimal time to reschedule and this country is not going to allow anyone to travel overseas. Trip a deal need to return money to their customers it’s unethical and theft if not returned.
Eileen L.asked
Trip a Deal why should we pay admin fees per person? Did you have my money a year in advance. So each person who booked and have to reschedule has to pay the mystery admin fees. Not our fault if the trip has to be cancelled and reschedule. This is another way of ripping people off. Shame on you. Are you really Australian????

This is a link to Web Archive, it has snapshots of TAD's pre-Covid terms and conditions that have conveniently been changed to protect TAD's interest.
Consumer laws prohibit changing terms after the fact.
Hope this helps.

As we are unable to email you directly we hope you receive this via public forum
In reference to your offers received 5/5/2020-
Option 1: We are unable to accept this option as our cancelled tour is not available on your website and there are no details of the tour you wish us to accept.
Option 2: This option has no further advantages to option 1 as far as we are concerned.
You have also stated that we must except this offer by 20/5/20 which is unreasonable during these circumstances.
We have been patiently waiting for an outcome and to our displeasure this is not a satisfactory solution. We are expecting a refund as we did not cancel our contact with your company and we believe your company is solely responsible for the return of our monies.
We have noted that a lot of your customers are disappointed with your approach to compensation and we will join with them in a class action. We have made an appointment to seek legal advise in June as this is when new legislation will be available regarding
COVID-19 travel compensation. We are unable to accept this offer in your time frame and will only accept it if advised by our solicitors.
If you wish to present other options, please do so as soon as possible.
Regards
Ian and Lynne Slater

Given other people’s fees for rebooking why are tad asking me for $1850 to rebook. Other problem is that insurance will not cover that trip as it now has pandemic clause, so if trip still does not go ahead what happens then?

Hi No Encore, your first point seems to be important. I paid using my credit card and have disputed the transaction on the grounds that the service paid for was not provided. Some substantiation is needed such as, in my case, receipts from TAD, and their advice of "trip not proceeding" - they seem unable to say "cancelled", reached for their lawyers first it appears - but I have passed the first hurdle of Mastercard accepting the dispute. Importantly, my card issuer advised that I specifically ask for a full refund in writing and keep a record.
Great posts no encore10. Keep repeating. Sometimes it’s hard to see previous posts they get lost. It’s about keeping people informed about their choices.
MasterCard flat out refused my BankWest request for a credit card dispute charge back. Cited government legislation and the Covid 19.....I suggested that I would cite the Covid 19 virus and not pay my credit card bill, they hung upon me. Banks are passing the buck, saying that the decision was made by MasterCard. All crooks.

Wondering if anyone here has managed to get a breakdown of the" suppliers" charges from TAD? I received an offer for my trip to Europe yesterday(was supposed to leave 27/4/20) Option 1 was take exact same trip and travel before 31/5/21(can't see that happening) with no extra charge.Option 2: Take trip anywhere in Europe book before 31/12/20 at a charge of $1199.00 per person!!!!
Part of my trip was on an MSC cruise, when i looked at their website they are offering all travellers 125% credit!
I am pretty sure Ethiad are offering full credit too, flights were booked months ago.

Why are they not simply giving refunds
The amount of complaints they are receiving... will they still be there next year?
I wonder the same thing, they go bust and I lose all my money that I gave them in good faith over 12 months ago!

I have contacted Slater and Gordon solicitors Melbourne who are very good at winning class actions https://www.slatergordon.com.au/class-actions/current-class-actions/travel-vouchers regarding Tripadeal's voucher offer. If you are similarly offended, please contact them.
Hi Ian
Sorry but they deviously deferred me to their travel insurance
Neither are honourable in honouring their contract.
