Follow up to my negative review
Following my Negative comments I received a phone call from Ventis requesting a visit to assess my complains. That I was very happy to accept, first time in 4 years of complaining I am finally getting some where.
The Co. representative [name removed] called yesterday 30th, January 2018 spent around 2 hours checking the system and explaining the actual functions of the Ventis system. What a pity this was not done by their sales Rep. at the time of purchase..
[name removed] concluded that the system was doing what it was designed for and we ...Read more

Filter Change Tip
There is a way of finding out the percentage of filter that is still available at any time. Go to Main Menu by pressing the right hand arrow. Then scroll down to Filter Details. Press the right hand arrow again and it will tell you the percentage. Ventis will tell you that once this figure goes below 20% you need to change the filter. They don't explain why. I am unable to replace a filter myself so have to pay approximately $200 once a year to maintain this supposedly "cheap to run" system. It's a good regular money earner for the company! Although I have found service to be efficient and technicians punctual, my experience with the system is like many others - it just doesn't do what it is promised to do. Very disappointing.

Really like our Ventis winter and summer.
When we had this installed I thought our best benefits would be in winter, saving heating costs. It has done this, saving I would guesstimate about 25% of our winter heating bill. I used to use my air con for about 5 hours a day in winter. Now it would be 3 because the house has warmed up so much during the day.
Summer has been the real surprise. It is really, really nice to have it come on during the night gently puffing cool air across you. Last summer I accidentally turned it off and wondered why it was so hard to stay asleep. This year ...Read more
there is a noticeable difference as I have made sure I keep it turned on. Even on the really hot humid nights in Sydney we find we will have to pull up the cotton blanket at some point. It also helps to charge up the house with cool air for next day so I can either delay or not use the air con. Even my initially sceptical husband agrees. When we have visitors they have also commented on the comfortable night's sleep. I can understand how some people might have been oversold on this by previous company owners. It won't replace your aircon, but it will be a great natural supplement - and heaps cheaper than running your air con!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good product, happy with its functions when used as directed
We had a single fan, 4 outlet roof air circulation system installed a few years ago now and i am overall very happy with the results. I have read all the other reviews and can honestly say i have not had those bad experiences. 1 key thing we took note of when it was sold and installed was how to use it. Its not a set and forget system. Best results have come from using the flush feature and following the seasonal email news and suggested settings. We got the system to fix damp problems and reduce heating bills, and it's done exactly that. It co...Read more
sts almost nothing to run so is far cheaper than dehumidifiers or AC systems. A work friend mentioned they had ventis also but were not happy. We told them how we use ours and they didn't realise your supposed change settings based on seasons. They started doing so and have found improved results from this simple action. My experiences have shown the filter requires change based on usage not on time. I'm glad to have the system and would recommend it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great customer service!
I was not initially impressed with the product, or the customer service I had experienced in the past. However, after recent telephone contact and a subsequent visit from Gary from Ventis, I have changed my mind. Gary showed a genuine interest in the issues I raised, and worked with me to deal with them. He also explained the workings and benefits of the system, and how to operate it to gain the best results. I now feel that the system is a worthwhile addition to my house.

rip off
I bought my system in January 2015.When the filters needed replacement Ventis were in receivership so I sourced filters elsewhere at $42 each.I was recently contacted about replacing filters again but the same filters from Ventis are now $99 each and the company I sourced from last are now prevented from selling to me by Ventis. This system is useless in Australian conditions and only during winter can some use be made of roof cavity heat.I have made some bad decisions in my life(69 years) but this has to be one of the worst.I wish they had stayed in receivership and saved other people from making the mistake I made.Do not buy this system!!!!

Poor support and bad product
I have never written one bad review. This is the first. I recently had a Ventis serviceman change the filter on my Ventis system. I had booked in a service for the main purpose of an explanation as to why the vents do not blow anymore and how to use the system properly. When he arrived he changed the filter and told me he had no time to explain why the vents do not blow, it is an older model and he has no idea. He told me to look on the website which of course does not explain anything. He was unhelpful did not have any time to even show me how to use the system and seemed irritated for my asking this.
The main reason for the booking was to explain how to use it so I could understand it.
Unimpressed.

Inherited Ventis System With New Home
Turned it off it is as useful as an ejector seat in a helicopter. If having smoky air sucked in and distributed throughout your home is what you want, particularly in winter when there is so much inversion around from polluting wood heaters well go ahead and blow your hard earned money on one of these systems. Since moving into our new home with this Ventis system both myself and my wife have developed constant coughs and throat irritations. We have never had any problems previously now we are regretting buying this home. Particularly with all these irresponsible polluters in the neighbourhood, wood fires should be banned totally.

Ventis is back!
About a year ago I wrote a review on this site that reflected my feelings on the state of Ventis at that time. Since writing that review, I have been contacted by a Ventis representative who made a real effort to solve my issues and ensure I was happy. Just like the Ventis of old.
I am glad to see great customer service return as I believe it is a great product. By having a happy customer base, they will be able to grow and be sustainable again.

Once again I am very pleased with my Ventis after the rep organised the fixes. And I happy to see Ventis continue to improve the product. Thanks Ventis!Similar opinion? Run from this company
I have a Ventis system installed in my house, when it works well life is good. But having to deal with this company when there is a problem, one big nightmare. Missed appointments, no communication, multiple invoices issued of different amounts for the same job, e mails not returned, lost my entire fan motor when they took it away for servicing, extended warranty is not worth the paper it's written on and poor record keeping. My advice would be to stay away from this company. They clearly have no idea what they are doing.

Not a reliable system
We had a Ventis system installed two years ago. The system worked well for a while, but the fan has now stopped. We have been told that we are out of the warranty period and the only solutions are to get a rebuilt or new fan, at a cost of between $600-$900. The initial purchase price was over $3,000. We would not recommend this system as it is expensive and unreliable. It is a pity as we enjoyed the system while it worked.

Useless peace off equipment
Had this system installed 2 years ago. The fan is not much better or stronger than in a portable 2 settings heater. The included filter is of a very cheap cardboard framed unit with a rough fiberglass mat, It was promised to have a pressure differential switch to show filter element condition. However it only has a timer which after a year (even when hardly ever used) indicates filter has to be replaced. As we are pensioners and do not venture in to the roof space anymore cost of replacement is over $100.00. System should not get a star at all !

Do not buy this ventis product
I had the opportunity to get this product installed for free by my very caring in laws hoping it would help with my daughters asthma so this review does not even take into consideration the initial purchase price (Which is very high by the way a AC system will perform the same functions with added benefits) and is review purely based on the company's product and lack of customer support.
So first things first I was hoping to place this review on face book but it seems their is no option to place unsolicited review on the ventis web site so you...Read more

Use at your own risk
I spent $3000+ on a sub floor ventilation system with Ventis in 2015. While they're trying to sell it to you, they will guarantee that it will work or your money back.
I needed the system because of sub floor damp problems that was creating a bad smell when the house was shut up, so I just wanted it to work. We tried numerous daytime timings of the fan but in 6 months couldn't get the smell out of a room. We suspect the smelly air was being directed into that room and not circulating out and was coming up through the floor boards.

ed for help that never came. Then in December they ceased trading. We still contacted someone from the company and he said he would come out. He made numerous excuses, and an appointment, and never showed up. Company is trading again and I contacted them and once again, same result. This prompted me to write this review to save someone from the same experience. They say they will ring you and they won't. It's just how it is. Once they have your money the business is done. These people are like those ones that will sell you a new driveway and then paint it. Can not be trusted. In hindsight, sub floor ventilation is something I should have done myself. The install they did is quite messy and not worth anywhere near what they charged, especially with NO backup service. You can probably do a better job for about $400 if you're the slightest bit handy. All the info is online. If you need someone else to do it, go for a reputable company who has been around for a long time like Dr Damp. There's a reason you have to wait for an appointment for Dr Damp. Oh, and my house still stinks when it's shut up.1 comment

Questions & Answers
wayne c.asked
Hi, I am in a house that is next to a slight noisy road. We keep windows shut most of the time and would like something to draw in fresh air from outside without opening the windows. Is Ventis going to be helpful for this purpose? Have a few questions appreciate if someone could answer.
- Since the attic is very hot in summer, is the hot air going to be taken into the house and make it hot?
- What is the electricity consumption for a Ventis system. Is it possible to program it to run on a particular time every day?
- How often does a filter last(e. g. how many processing hours etc.) and how much is it to change it?
- What is a rough cost of the system? Understand every house is different, are we looking at a few thousands or a lot more?
thanks Wayne

VentisVentis
Hi Wayne,
Yes ventis can give you fresh air without opening the windows. In summer it runs at night because of the heat in the roof during the day. And in winter it runs at night. Its temperature controlled. It runs a 100kw fan so its about $10 per month. The filter needs to be changed every 12-15 months depending on running hours. It starts at $4500. Please feel free to email us on [email protected] if you need further information.
Pooran.asked
I had my filter changed and was away for a short while. On returning, we realised that the panel stated Fault #115- Damper not closed. Would this have anything to do at all with fact that the filter was changed and the Fault occured. I was informed by David at Chatswood that it was going to cost me $99, just to front up! Is that fair?

VentisVentis
Hi Pooran. We would have to determine why the fault is happening. The fault is most likely nothing to do with the filter change but if we do find that it is an related fault of course you wont get charged the call out fee. I can see your service is booked on 24/1/20, our electrician will be out to look at your system.

Help! Our house has filled up with smoke from the bush fires. Only way for smoke to enter is through the Ventis vents. What can we do - vents don't close!

VentisVentis
Hi Linda, I'm sorry to hear that you are in an area with excessive smoke.
Please make sure your Ventis is switched off. The smell will be in the house but no particles will be able to by pass the filter.
Thanks Scott. It is off but we still have a smoke haze throughout the house. I've plugged up some of the vents with tea towels for now.
Smoke can enter via down lights, the space around them... tape them over. Through gaps around doors, poorly sealing around windows... through extraction fans that are not piped through the roof... If extraction fans are run on maximum they will draw smoke into your house through any crack or crevice
Hope this helps
