2011 Volks Wagon Polo 1.6 lt diesel
I purchased this car brand new. Was told I would be in my new car in 4 weeks. 7 months later it arrived.
Have taken for overrevving problem, 2 recalls and since recall in 2017 has accumulated over $10,000 worth of repairs and currently my car is still off the road after being at the current dealership for the past 8 weeks. It still may require another repair that could cost anywhere from $2300 to $6500?? I have now been faced with a bill of up to almost $1000 for diagnosis and work that I have never authorise...

Used car salesmen who live up to their reputation!
Coaxed to drive a five hour round trip to look at a ten year old used car for around $18,500. Several calls were made to us to get us to come and see said vehicle. A tow bar would be installed at no cost, and yes, the price we were willing to offer was 100% within the realms of possibility. Anything to make you happy! We want you to buy this car! Get to the dealership after driving hundreds of kilometers only to be told nothing of the sort was ever offered, made to feel extremely uncomfortable, treated poorly, while the sales people lied in our...
Read more faces. Then a complete scam ensued, whereby an intricate dance of people coming and going took place, telling us conflicting stories, and never being in the same room. This is precisely why used car sales people have the horrendous reputation they do, we just didn't expect it of Volkswagen! One of the sales managers, Nicole, bailed us up to tell us that based on what we had been told on the phone this unfortunate guy was going to be sacked the same day. Yes, it was OUR FAULT. She then went on to tell us all sorts of garbage about who said what in the morning manager's meeting, sheer gossip which made us terribly uncomfortable: that this guy had constantly lied to clients. It was none of our business and we did not want to hear about this petty rubbish. She told us she would call us back, and didn't bother. It seems as if the used sales team at Osborn Park Volkswagen are completely dishonest and dragging the name of VW down with them.Find out how Volkswagen Dealers compares to other Car Dealerships

Volkswagen Melville - Western Australia
Probably the worst customer experience I have EVER had.
I took my VW CC here to be serviced, a car I bought new for $74000 or thereabouts in 2014 AND ONLY HAD 67000KMS when i booked it in.
The final service bill came in over $4000 and they had to hold the car for over 5 days.
Supposedly, they changed the break pads and rotated the wheels etc, but as soon as I drove it out, 1km down the road the tyre pressure warning came on with 3 of the tyres registering far below acceptable standards. I pulled into a service station and sure enough NONE of...
Read more the tyre pressures were to standard. Furthermore, the car wasn't cleaned inside despite this promise and several things I asked to be looked at were not addressed. When I got the car back, the rear seat was folded down and when I tried to put it back up, it wouldn't lock into place - makes me wonder what they used my car for over the 5 days they had it!!! To top it off when I rang to ask the items to be addressed, I was asked, "can I take your details and the service manager will call you back." I got this not once, not twice, but three times. I got so desperate to have the issues addressed I rang as a new customer to book the car in to be serviced.

Berwick VW - don’t bother. 0 discount offered never any stock & Service dep terrible and rude.
Over three years I went in to enquire about three different cars, Volkswagen polo, Volkswagen golf, tigune. I found it particularly frustrating that the models that I was interested in purchasing were not available to display, I was driven out to the Pakenham holding yards to see a polo comfortline that was locked, filthy and didn’t meet the specifications of the model I was interested in. Waste of time. The following year I was keen on buying a Golf highline... again The particular model I was interested in which was quite common at every othe...
Read morer dealer was not available for display, they also could not provide one for a test drive... giving me a diesel option in a completely different car (Tiguan) to drive. Pointless. Return to the dealership a year later to test drive a tigune and get purchase pricing, they didn’t have the model tigune I was interested in and gave me a two-year-old used-car out of the used car lot to drive. Pointless. Wrong model and specs. On all three occasions over 3 years the dealership was extremely reluctant to give me anything cheaper than recommended retail pricing (VW online pricing). I was simply told unless I committed to buy they would not give me a “best price” all three occasions, this is ridiculous. Especially considering they could not get that particular model I wanted that other dealers had on the floor. I went into another dealership in Doncaster and was offered a better than recommended retail price without even having to ask, and still got a very large discount off that price too. I’ve never purchased a car from this dealership based on all of these particulars situations over three year period. One salesmen was very rude and annoying calling up to 3/4 times a day for weeks after. Even once I had told him I’d already made my purchase. I had to block all his numbers to get it to stop. As for the service department I’m quite disappointed with the new configuration of service advisors, took my car in and showed the team and service manager the issues long list of issues I’m having with my brand-new Tigune and booked in for 2 / 3 weeks later to have the recognised issues resolved. After having my car for the whole day nothing was completed other than the basic service. Loan cars were not available, Never are. Was told “cars make noises get used to it” and nothing was resolved. My car was returned to me with damage on it and filthy & dirty with oil leaking through the engine bay.- Verified
Mechatronic In Polo 2014 VW completely stuffed. Not good for a young car. VW will not assist. Apparently $9k to fix.
Mechatronic In Polo 2014 VW failed. VW not interested in fixing. Despite there was a recall on 2009 to 2013 models. Problem with the mechatronic obviously not resolved. Not good enough.

10 times into workshop for the same issue and Volkswagen Australia claim nothing is wrong after its faulted for them
10 times into dealer for same issue. They have replaced multiple parts and still not fixed. Volkswagen customer experience ambassadors regularly lie to me and now they are claiming for the second time the car is fixed when it isn’t and their technicians have had it fault with them in the car

Volkswagen Tiguan
The old model Tiguan 2012 - 2017 have been fitted with a slump that isn't reinforced, this will cost you around $950 to fix. For a European car I would have expected the car to have high standards on all parts, but it doesn't and who know what else is a cheap part in the car, makes you question Volkswagen.
July 18th 2022 Update: Cheap parts in the cars
Beware Volkswagen use cheap parts in their cars, they don’t last and they will claim it’s wear and tear. I have had a Toyota Corolla, Subaru Impreza and didn’t have any issues and had them for years longer and no parts needed to be replaced. Basically after 50,000km you will need to replace most things which will cost $1000 for each part. Do yourself a favour and don’t buy a Volkswagen

Leaking Tiguan sunroof an ongoing problem - AVOID Northshore VW - lousy service!
Bought a 2010 Tiguan and the sunroof started to leak. Took it to Northshore VW in Artarmon Sydney. They charged $1500 + to repair and when I enquired about the warranty on this particular fix they said "2 years". Fast forward about 18 months and the roof starts to leak again. I take the car back & they tell me that because I had not had the car serviced with them in the interim, the warranty of 2 years was "void". Very disappointed in 1) the roof leaking - avoid buying any VW with a sunroof as they regularly have problems & 2) Northshore VW in Sydney are in my opinion expensive and unreliable as far as any "warranty" they offer.
You call them and are put on hold indefinitely & then they hang up on you. Appalling service.
Worse car I ever purchased trouble from day one
Stopped dead twice in traffic but apparently that was ok. Turbo catalytic blah blah $31k car I spent over $10k after warranty and ended up trading in for $5k. After 5 years hope you are rich to by a German car too tricked up an built in a third world country annoyed and the irony when I first went back to the dealership my salesperson laughed and said “we sold you a lemon”. Lesson learnt hope I help others
Worst service / company
100% do not recommend buying a VW. Especially from Wangara. Devastated I didn't listen to the bad reviews I read before I went there. From the lying sales team to the dodgy mechanics and management. Covering up faults from day 1. I was told my 2018 new polo beats car was starting shaky because the weather was cold in September after constantly taking it back 3 times they finally replaced 3 fuel injectors. The car still didn't drive right and I was constantly told it was fine even though the cars engine turned off and the steering wheel and breaks lock whilst the car still moves!!!! They still have my car because it's not road worthy and they are in denial. Disgusting company and service. AVOID!!!

Zero after sale service
Here is a cautionary tale about dealing with Essendon Volkswagen. Firstly, I took the car in for its book service last year, service was supposedly done, then 3 months later brakes went, brake pads were low, but they didn’t mention it at the time of service, I also had to top up coolant. I figured that they hadn’t actually done anything, so for my service this year I went back to BMW, at least I know they look at the car. BMW picked up a coolant leak and said it should be a warranty job but I have to go back to Volkswagen. They took the car an...
Read mored said yes it needs a water pump, but they have to order one, just top it up with water in the meantime. I also told them about an error message that came up on the dash but they said there were no faults. Picked it up on Thursday, Saturday, car won’t start. Then it starts, then Sunday won’t start again. This morning it starts, so I go to Volkswagen AGAIN, they try it and it won’t start (thank goodness) so now they see the fault I’ve been telling them about. They have no loan cars available, and they don’t know if it will take 2 days or 2 weeks to fix!!! So I have to go hire a car at my own expense!! DO NOT DEAL WITH ESSENDON VOLKSWAGEN, go across the road and buy a Hyundai or a Kia, you will get better service100 percent.Excellent first class service
Did our service at Keystar Kippa Ring. They quoted us the exact cost for the service.
Was offered complimentary car wash. Highly recommended. Wolfgang, the Service
Adviser was totally professional, courteous towards his customers. Will definitely go
back for our next service.
New car dealership exellence
Went to Traralgon Volkswagen and was greeted with kindness and excellent attention. Dathan is a fine example of a young man with a lot ambition and expresses a fine to detail and passion to his job witch Volkswagen should be proud of and i can only say which can only come with years with them. Bernie sat us down and and explained all the ins and outs and expressed a comfortable experience with my wife and i. The coffee pot was burning and the treatment me and my wife experienced was exceptional. On pick up of our new polo Dathan overseed by his impeccable manager walked us through our new Volkswagen and we left without a worry in our minds. Thank you to the team at Traralgon Volkswagen we will be back!
Absolutely appalling CS
I’m honestly not even going to begin. I’ve had 18months of the most phenomonially horrendous customer service I could have ever imagined existed. Even today, it’s hard to believe a company can run in this manner. Mind you, this is for three different dealerships and countless customer service members via VW Australia over an 18 months period. I am also not the type to complain. I will never touch another VW product ever again.
absolute dishonesty
Claimed a white phone charging cord with broken pins was found in my car and that was why I was having charging issues. I don't own a white charging cord...my samsung has a black one which is in pristine condition. It turns out the phone wasnt charging because the infotainment unit was turned off. NO apology for fasely accusing me of using a faulty cord which it turns out was left in my car by allegedly anoher serviceman. Outcome: We are sorry.....bye!

Great service from Waverley Volkswagen Liam
Big thanks to Liam Hawken from Waverley Volkswagen, really appreciated him to save a lot for me.
Here is my story, My 2011 Passat broke down on the road
05/03 - The car was towed into Waverley Volkswagen
06/03 - Met Liam from service department, the issue is DSG Mechatronics failure. Since the car is out of warranty, but he still helped me to lodge the warranty claim to VAG to cover the replacement cost. In the same time, he helped me to arrange replacement for airbag recall as well.
07/03~20/03 - Very long time waiting, I almost lost my patie...

TERRIBLE AFTERCARE SERVICE!
Hi Guys, Coming from a sales job, I know how important reviews are to a company and I've tried my very best to give VW Brighton a positive review but they don't seem to care once money hits there account. I deposited in Oct18 and finally got the car Feb19 due to quarantine/transport issues. I was promised delivery around late Dec18 or early Jan19 to pick up the car but anyway it was not meant to be. I purchased my dream car (VW Tiguan Wolfsburg edition) and after sales, it has been a horrible experience for me. I've picked up a defect the next...
Read more day on my passenger door. The door trim has come loose. After showing all my family and friends the new car I had to explain to them the defect will be fixed, (this took away the new car feeling) Once taking the car back to VW Brighton so they can come up with a plan to fix it, the care factor was ZERO from the service team. No apology was given or explanation of why this happened in the first place. At this point, I was still very patient and I knew the car was going to be fixed in a week as promised by the Service Manager. I'm now 4 WEEKS into trying to fix the problem- I have called them 4 different times to see what's going on. I've spoken to the manager and every time its the same empty promise, "I will look into it and get back to you today" and nothing happens. I'm disappointed in VW Brighton in the way you handled my situation and new buyers need to know the truth. I've referred two of my friends that when through purchasing cars with you and I regret mentioning your name now. Thanks, Huss- 2 reviews
THE BEST VW DEALERSHIP IN SYDNEY IS SUTHERLAND VW
My wife and I bought from Sutherland VW dealership a VW Tiguan R-Line fully optioned which we picked up on 25 Feb 2022. I am just lost for words and I do not know how best to describe our experience with the two gentlemen at the dealership Larry and Brendan. We cannot just say "thank you" to them for their service because it would be understating our experience and deeper feelings. From that first phone call which I made to Larry after searching google for his contact number, the entire process from then on was extremely professional and smoot...
Read moreh. Prior to coming to them we did have a Tiguan which we bought from another dealer but we refused to go back this time to that same dealer because they just put us off with their lies. We then visited 4 other VW dealerships around Sydney. All of the other dealers were good and much better with their customer service than the first experience we had and the information that we were provided, but still we had a deeper inclination that there was something missing in them and they were not the right fit for us. So we walked away from all of those dealerships and took a chance to speak to Larry and Brendan at VW Sutherland. Larry was so honest with the information that he provided over the phone that one would sit there and wonder whether Larry was genuine and fair dinkum. We made an effort to drive all the way out to Sutherland to meet with Larry and Brendan. Upon arriving there and meeting with Larry and Brendan we were made to feel so relaxed as we were treated as if we were part of the family or we were known to each other for years. There was no pushing or pressure applied, just to get us to sign on the dotted line but a whole spectrum of information was laid bare in front of us and we were left on our own devices to see the cars on display, feel at ease and then if we wanted we could go ahead. That atmosphere of professionalism and the most important thing to us "HONESTY" led us in deciding within moments that we would go ahead and purchase. This was the first time that a VW dealer agreed and offered to show us the very car that we would be buying which was sitting in their holding yard only 5 minutes away from the dealership. We were driven to the holding yard by lovely Brendan and shown our car which was still wrapped up in plastic. We were asked to take as many photos as we liked for the interior and the exterior of the car and the VIN number so that when we come to pick the car up it would be the same car that we were shown. That to us was HONESTY to the maximum. No one could do any better than that. Dealers would rarely offer to show you the car they promise to give you and as a customer I would have no way of seeing the car but to place my belief and trust in the dealer that I will be given a brand-new car and not one which is a demo or test driven with provisional plates. As we have been burnt before, we told Larry and Brendan our past experiences and they made sure we were fully looked after from cradle to the grave so to speak. I can keep going on describing our wonderful experience with Larry and Brendan and I will not be able to stop. I am nearing 50 and in my past life I have bought many cars. This is the first time that we were not treated like the door mat where the dealer gets you to sign on the dotted line and then everything thereafter is just a formality. That was not the case with Larry and Brendan. They were not pushy and they devoted so much of their valuable time even after we had paid for the car. We observed sitting in the dealership that Larry and Brendan received people with that great smile and made every person walking through that door welcome. We can only say that Larry and Brendan at their young and tender stages of life have a lot of good things ahead of them and if they maintain that close relationship with customers, I can see the future for Sutherland VW more brighter than the sunshine. On the day of picking up the car we were treated like royalty. Young Brendan ran through the entire operation of the car as if he was the guy who manufactured it. He knew his job very well and I will surely be ringing him in the future if I required any education on some of the very many features built into the Tiguan MY19. Once again my wife and I, from the deeper echelons of our heart, say a very BIG THANK YOU to Larry and Brendan. Please note I have not been paid by anyone to write this testimonial but this is relating to people out there looking to buy a VW a true story and how we were treated by Larry and Brendan. So drive out to Sutherland VW and speak to Larry and Brendan. They will look after your needs guaranteed.Great service.
George was fantastic and spent all the time we needed, showing us the car and its features. No question was a problem. Even included coffee!!!! Great service. We are very happy.
Avoid like the plague
Had my Golf booked in for a service and asked the service man to check the sunroof for water ingression just to be told $200 "to look at it." Three months later driving under torrential rain on the busy Brisbane M1, the so called "Golf" lost power and came to a complete stop. Towed to a service center, another shocking news, timing belt snapped damaging pistons, valves, rings and the lot. Three days later it's my fault and I have to pay $5,450 to have it fixed. Avoid like the plague.

Great service
This is my second review, first one being the purchase of the car.
This relates to an issue with the car keys. Jaclyn from Service department and Steven whom I purchased the car from has been flexible allowing me to drop off and pick up the car on a Saturday and for fixing up the issue quickly and at no cost from me. So thank you for being genuine and helpful.
Absolutely appalling customer service
I contacted Doncaster VW just to try and book in a 60,000 Klm service.
You'd think this would quite simple and relatively straightforward - well NO I called them on 6 seperate occasions.
Finally gave up and booked the car in elsewhere.
In short, they have a terrible customer service culture - particulary at this dealership.
