Very stressed

We are due to travel in 6 weeks time. Still no positive news coming our way. Latest on the website today is -'All our tours to China beyond 31 March are currently planned to operate as normal'. We are certainly not very happy with this at present. We do not want to take the risk of travelling at all this year and surely we cannot be expected to go just because the tour operators feel that is okay. We are not getting any joy from our travel agent either who cannot give us any advice, other than to wait until the 21 days prior to departure. Meanwhile we have no passports and cannot make other plans for our April holidays this year. NOT HAPPY at all!

why are you withholding deposits.when theres a killer virus in china.and will be for another six mounths.this is just a big rip off.money grabing,un proffessional.advise all travelers not to book.it mite bee your last trip,you mite not come back alive.most travelers are older so they should have more compassion towards their customers.not just money.wake up wendy wu what your doing is crap

Exquisite China, brilliant trip, couldn't fault it!

Our trip to China October 2022 exceeded our expectations, our tour guide Luis was intelligent, helpful, patient, interesting and nothing was too much trouble for him. We travelled with 12 people in total, a few Australians and the rest from the UK we had an amazing group of fun like minded people. The accommodation was superb and the sights and experiences we had will be etched into our memories for a lifetime. This is my 2nd trip with Wendy Wu and I'd travel with them again without hesitation.

Wonders of China tour

In October 2022 we headed to China for the Wendy Wu Wonders of China tour. Our tour guide was Kai Ning.
Beijing was the start of our wonderful China adventure. The itinerary covered so many different attractions and Kai was always there to share his love and knowledge of China.
Kai was always organised and kept us on track so we got the most out of our holiday.
Philip and I would like to say a big thank you to Kai and our fellow travellers for the 16 days of travel, stories and laughs.

A great taster to introduce you to India. Tour communication was great & our guide Jitinder Singh was very approachable & informative. As a solo traveler I found the tour to be enjoyable although a little rushed at times. Would possibly be slightly better over an extra two days but overall I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go to India & not have to stress about safety etc.

Bed Bugs

Disgusted....I took my almost 79 year old mother on the Wendy Wu Jewels if Japan tour only to come home with bed bug bites. My left arm had 33, my face 11 then I stopped counting. I sent the travel agent photos and an email asking for Wendy Wu to investigate. The travel agent called me to say my information had been passed onto Wendy Wu and someone would contact me direct. Still waiting almost 2 weeks later.

We have just returned from our 22 day trip to China and what a good time we had,20 in our group and Cathy our guide went over and above to make sure we all got the best from our tour, everything was explained perfectly and the extra things (like a birthday cake and finding a pharmacy ) made the tour a wonderful experience.

Hi, we were booked on a Wendy Wu tour departing 7th of April. I would like to enquire as to when we will find out our options seeing the tour was cancelled due to the corona 19 virus.

Hi we received the information from our travel agent and am now wondering why we are being charged $500 for rebooking? You will be gaining interest on our money and this should compensate the transfer fees in our opinion. To be charged 25% cancellation fee when we didn’t cancel is also extremely high in our opinion.

Call a tour “deferred” which is really cancelled for that date and then tell us that to not accept another date we are told this is cancel and charge us 37.25% and we only booked tour and no flights. Please justify such a cost when the cancel did not cost you anything as no loss of income for you - Justify this if you can !!

Further to my above comments I would like to remind Wendy Wu Tours of the CANCELLATION BY WENDY WU TOURS conditions - If tour is cancelled or varies prior to departure due to unforeseeable circumstances such as, but not restricted to, severe weather conditions or force majeure, Wendy Wu Tours will refund all monies prior to departure less visa cost, fuel surcharge and any other cancellation fees levied by airlines and other third parties that are not refunded by an airline or other third party.
As I have NO flights and there was NO Visa needed and there were NO unrecoverable expenses - Please explain the cancellation fee ( which is totally unwarranted ) at being 37.25% of my total tour cost ??? FOR WHAT !!??

We are doing our best to minimise the third party costs that have been passed onto to you, the shut down of travel happened incredibly quickly, some overheads had already been committed, these are the costs that have been passed on. For 25 years we have done a very good job, of surpassing our clients expectations, the reality is that the Covid 19 Pandemic has had a significant and costly disruption to all of our lives. Each day we are reminded of our blessings as we wake to focus on another day.

Our focus is to work professional and quickly to minimise the impact on our customers, regrettably the reality is in this unprecedented situation all that we can influence is the speed and professionalism in which we communicate to you the outcomes from a government enforced border closure (or a force majeure event).

We were booked to go to China 24th March, Booked through Flightcentre. We were told we could postpone or get a refund. My girlfriend is 77 so we decided refund. We keep contacting agent only to be told they are waiting to hear from Wendy Wu. I transferred my insurance (probably too soon) believing we would get a refund. Very frustrating. Lack of contact is very annoying and makes me question if i would travel with them again.

Their lack of communication continues to be appalling. I certainly would never consider booking another holiday with this company.

We were due to travel to China on 8 April and have been advised that our refund from WWT has been sent through to our travel agent, Phil Hoffmann Travel, who will send through to us by end of week (fingers crossed). You need to keep the communication going with your travel agent as WWT won’t speak to you. Good luck!
