And the Award for the most terminally unrelaible fridge goes to.....
As Forrest Gump once said "In the Vietnam war I got a million dollar wound but I never saw a cent of that". What he was referring to was being shot in the ass. This fridge is a little like that. I bought it six years before it gave me an ounce of trouble and then one day it decided not to work and never work again. I called the electrolux tech who told me I had a one in a million fault where the internal wiring has failed.
How can an appliance that never moves has it's internal wiring fail?
So since that was the only form of assistance I rece...Read more

2 new fridges in 5 years. Would avoid buying this product.
Bought the original fridge and went away on holidays. Came home to a fridge full of maggots. Electrolux replaced the fridge, and this one lasted 14months. The local agent "repaired" the fridge and returned it to our home. This time it lasted 3 days. The manager now says it is up to Electrolux to deal with it,even though I paid $276.00 for the repair..If you are considering a new fridge? Dont touch one of these...

Westinghouse have now contacted me through the local agent, and I think the issue I experienced with the fridge may be in the process of being resolved.

fridge part stops working
I bought this fridge 3.5 years ago. In this period the fridge department stopped cooling twice, reading the other reviews it seems that it is not an uncommon problem. The first time it was still under warranty and was repairable. The second time they told me that they can not fix it and offered a similar model for $700. I paid over a $1000 to buy this fridge and to me it is not acceptable that the product is not usable after 3.5 years while it still looks brand new. Now I do not feel comfortable to invest another $700 in this brand if the same thing is going to happen.

Rubbish thin plastic in between top fridge and bottom freezer
Fridge works OK but the quality of the plastic in between the 2 compartments are totally inadequate in thickness.
We've Westinghouse fridges all our lives but this will be the last one. I am totally disgusted with the internal thickess and quality of the plastic. It's thinner than paper. Beware of wasting your money. We have 2 splits in there caused by 2 very small jars. Westinghouse never replied to my emails as well, they are becoming a joke!!!! I bet they won't even reply to this review either.

Stopped working after 4 years
Stopped working after 4 years. Called Electrolux service and wouldn't cover the cost of repair. Ended up agreeing to $250 repair. We have always bought Westinghouse but just can't purchase one again. This really should run for 10-15 years. The Samsung fridge that we bought at half the price on the same day has not missed a beat. Samsung are also offering 5 years warranty. So really can't justify buying another product that claims to be premium. Have been told that the Dept of Fair Trading will enforce the repair or replacement. Will likely follow up with them but had no choice but to spend the money on the repair to get the fridge up and running again.

Westinghouse fridge section not cooling.
This is the second time now that the fridge section has stopped cooling and my food is spoiled. A few months ago on the advice of the internet I thawed out the fridge for about 3 days and this fixed the problem. Now it has happened again I called Westinghouse this morning and was told that it would cost $145 just to send someone out to look at it. The lady who was supposed to call me back in two hours due to the system being down hasn't bothered to call me yet that was over 5 hours ago.
Sad that a fridge I payed so much for has stopped working just a little over 2 years. I was told this was Australian made and I wanted to support Australian made goods. Hoping to still get this resolved.

Can't recommend Westinghouse fridges.
At the beginning, we thought it was a decent fridge. But after less than a year, it stopped working overnight resulting in wasted food and chasing down Westinghouse customer service. The guy who serviced it, got it working again, but the temperature of the fridge is just not cold enough. Freezer is fine, but food gets wasted after less than 3 days. Very disappointed in quality. It's at mid level price-wise, so you would expect a decent quality. Guarantee is only 2 yrs, so it's just past. Not going to pay for service for an unreliable and now discontinued product. Better to buy LG, Fisher Paykel or Samsung.

Crisper freezing all fruits and vegetables
I have the same problem with the crisper it is freezing all the salad and vegetables which just ruins the food. Eg baby spinach and carrots just frozen solid and ruined .
Only bought the fridge 3 months ago.
Other than this I love the fridge but the crisper is a major problem!!

Great Fridge, 6 years on and still great
I have had my WBM4300 fridge in three different locations (move for work) for the past 6-7 years and it is still great. At one place I shared with 2 others, and no problem. I bought a similar one (the 5100) for another property which I understood was even better for energy use, even though slightly bigger. I think that might be why the 4300 was discontinued, the later models improved. No matter - both great! Love these fridges. No problems and yes quiet too!

very practical set up
Everything just where you want it. I had read that it might be noisy but have not noticed this at all. Very spacious and easy access to food crisper. Door holds lots of food and the freezer down the bottom is ideal. 4 shelves leaves lots of room for a lot of food.

Great Fridge why is it now discontinued?
I am very glad I got this fridge, suits my kitchen perfectly. Fridge and freezer compartments maintain correct temperatures. Quiet do not hear any noise from motor. Shelves are glass and very easy to wipe clean. Size is perfect for 2 people it gives you plenty of room might be on the small side for a family. I have been using this fridge continuously for 12 months and not hesitate to recommend if it was still available. This was my first Westinghouse purchase and I am very happy with it.

They admit manufacturing fault BUT say I should pay.
I bought my Westinghouse fridge 3 years ago. A crack has suddenly appeared in the floor lining of my freezer. It is an obvious manufacturing fault confirmed by the service consultant from Electrolux. The Electrolux technician was consulted and I was offered a pro-rata deal. They consider it reasonable that even though I bought this fridge in good faith and paid near $1000 and received a fridge with MANUFACTURING FAULTS that I should pay $600 to have it replaced because they can not fix it. I emailed Customercare expressing my distress ( calml...Read more
y, nicely and clearly) regarding the pro-rata deal. They respond with " . Maybe it is what you used to clean it that caused it? The fridge will still work and by my calculations says the phone consultant $600 is a good deal" I use a damp cloth to clean. I don't want cracks for dirt build up. I say here they tried to blame me, underplay the problem and try to manipulate me with the suggestion that I should really pay more than $600. NEVER AGAIN ELECTROLUX. Disgusting treatment. FAULTY FLIMSY PRODUCT.3 comments

Not working after only 10 months.
The fridge shut down and because i was away all of the food in both fridge and freezer were mouldy. I called Electrolux 16th July. A serviceman came the next day. He had to order a part. Didn't fix the problem. Still waiting. Had to buy a cheap fridge cause the service people at electrolux don't seem to be able to do anything for us. Won't be buying another Westinghouse.

Very happy so far
I took delivery of this refrigerator yesterday, so I am not in a position yet to be commenting on its long-term performance. So far, however, I am delighted with the WBM4300. It replaced an eighteen-year-old 400-litre Kelvinator which, though still working, was becoming noisy and causing things to ice up in the non-freezer compartment. The new Westinghouse is just what I wanted: quiet-running, doors that open to the left, smart internal design. No issues with its cooling capacity, either. I especially like the bottom freezer section with its dr...Read more
awers that glide in and out so smoothly. It definitely holds more my previous freezer did. Frankly, I am surprised at the negative reviews here. Perhaps this website has become a forum for disappointed customers rather than for those (I would assume the majority) who are satisfied with their purchase. Anyway, I will come back in a year or two with an updated assessment.1 comment

e. I am so glad I chose a design with the freezer section at the bottom—much more convenient that way. Also worth mentioning is the significant decline in my quarterly power bill after this fridge was installed. This tells me it's more economical to run than the ageing Kelvinator I had previously. In conclusion, I have no regrets whatever about my choice of this Westinghouse model.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Fridge. Quiet.
This is my first bottom mount fridge. I have the 430 litre left hand opening model.I noticed how quiet it is as I previously had a Fisher and Paykal which was very noisy. I have had it nearly a year now and find it great. It is easier to clean than most fridges. The knobs for adjustments are very easy to get to. The drawers in the freezer roll in and out very easily. I was surprised there was not more freezer space, but I do freeze a lot of things, including bread. The door spaces are the best I have ever had. It fits so much, it seems to have room for all my bottles and jars. I would definitely recommend it.

Brand new and doesn't work
Bought this a week ago and never cooled down. Freezer is working but lost all the food in my fridge. Frustrating! Waiting now for Westinghouse to come out and fix except I'm not home during the week and need a fridge. You expect new appliances to work! Appliances online have been great and have organised for a service person to come out.

Terribly disappointed, never buying this brand again
The fridge design seems good, great freezer layout and sturdy shelves. But the fridge doesn't work! It was delivered yesterday morning, 24hrs later it's still not cold and my dairy and meat products have gone bad. Called Harvey Norman this morning, looks like I'll have a fight on my hands to get this replaced. As a single mum i need to be careful with my money. I thought I was buying a quality brand from a reliable retailer. Obviously I was wrong on both counts. So disappointed!

ayout is awesome, so large and spacious. But this one again is not particularly cold. Yes, it's colder than the one that wasn't working, but on the highest setting for fridge and freezer it's only just touching on the "green zone" of my fridge thermometer (I bought a thermometer to check on temp). The temp controls are dials and I expected that midway or just above would be normal, with extra cooling available for days when you stock the freezer etc. But mine is already up as high as it's going to go and that's barely keeping the fridge and freezer in the correct temp range. Westinghouse have lost a customer I'm afraid...I won't buy Westinghouse again. A $1400 fridge should be better than this.ELECTROLUX ..Westinghouse

Have had for 6 years - can't fault it at all!
I love this fridge freezer and don't have a single bad thing to say about it. Nice and spacious, clever door left open alarm, trendy blue lights inside, easy pull out freezer drawers (that come out for cleaning), and a nice big space for icecubes not just a silly little tray.
I was worried about the stainless steel but out of all the appliances I bought for my kitchen in stainless steel this is the only one that still looks bran new. No tarnishing at all. It just loves an occasional clean with a stainless steel wipe, otherwise I just wipe clean with the warm damp cloth from the sink.
Its a keeper!!!!

The fridge (top) compartment is freezing food and water! The control display shows the fridge temp to be 7 degrees, which is higher than recommended (3-4) and definitely higher than actual - since it freezes.
How can i fix this? Thx.
