Really a great fridge - very large interior space, well thought-out and useful interior layout, highly adjustable, clear controls, not too many space-taking gadgets. The doors close themselves. The freezer drawers are great, very smooth rollers, and everything is accessible. In the main fridge, the single large crisper is wide enough to store celery, rhubarb, leeks, and other large produce. It's better than larger fridges in this respect, which tend to have two smaller crisper drawers side by side.
And it's very quiet. You can hear a hum if ...Read more
everything else is silent, but no more than other modern fridges. If yours is making a racket, that's a fault. Get it fixed. The door shelves are made from a very thick and strong plastic - a long way ahead of the competition on this score, and it was important point for me as the first thing that went on the old fridge were the door shelves. (Kelvinator and Electrolux have the same strong door shelves). The Electrolux version has a lower energy consumption, rollers for the crisper drawer, and door handles that stick out. But this is the better value, and has the cleaner lines and better interior space. Couldn't find any other comparable fridge to beat it for features or value. Very useful interior layout, strong door shelves, well-sized, smart looks, quiet, well made, best value on market, made in Australia.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good solid fridge, hope it lasts as long as its predeccessor
Our faithful Westinghouse Silhouette 390lt circa 1989 just died quietly, he just made a slight whine and poof gone.He must have known it was the long weekend, despite a few attempts to revive him he was gone to the white goods pasture in the sky.Good bye old friend !
Straight onto the web to find his successor, had already done some research previously and thought we would stay with the brand we trusted. After a few price compare sites, looked at appliances on line but delivery wasn't till Wed (Early Sat afternoon, sorry fella's was kee...Read more
n to try your service but its all about timing) . Took a punt on my local Bing Lee doing a deal, called up and was told yes we have that in stock, the delivery boys are keen to go, COD ! . Wow 45 mins later new fridge arrives, old one emptied and ceremoniously departs via the delivery guys.Waved off with a tear in my eye !. Got the bottom mount freezer and wasn't that a surprise, no more bending down to look into fridge.New fridge slightly taller as well, very cavernous. Got all my old fridge stuff into it (bar those chiko rolls with a Victorian expiry date !) and voila new icy cold beer. My son (2 year old) was asleep having his nap at the time when all this was happening, imagine his surprise walking into the kitchen and doing a double take !. good design but noisy
This fridge is a has plenty of well designed space. There is plenty space in the door. Like the freezer drawers and the vegetable crisper keeps vegetables and items are easy to remove things. But the fridge has a high pitched whining noise when running that I find annoying. Otherwise this a good fridge.
Update:
This fridge is still noisy with a high pitched whiny noise. I spoke about this before and got replies from Westinghouse but no follow up. Not to bad in winter but I don't know how it will be in summer when it runs more often. I expect that they would claim that the noise is normal.
Lots of space

Love it
WB5100WCR We bought this fridge after much research October 2013 and after 6 months we love it even more. It just works really well for us, keeps perfect temperature. The wide door shelves are very convenient for those fiddley sauce bottles etc. The easy roll freezer shelves make things so convenient to use and during summer the ice trays are brilliant and now we are into winter we removed them and made more space for those winter items like bulk stewing steak for winter stews and briskets. It certainly works for us. We love it!!!
Excellent spacing, ease of use, so convenient

Very very happy
We've had top mount and side by side fridges in the past by various manufacturers, but when we remodelled our kitchen, it needed a new fridge for the space. We did quite a bit of research and also asked friends who have had both.
The Westinghouse was the right size internally and externally for what we needed, but the main thing we wanted was not to have to bend down to the fruit and veggies. We don't access the freezer as much so it makes sense to have it below.
The fridge section is very well set up with the clear glass shelves making visi...Read more

Apalling product - appalling service
Purchased this fridge just over 2 years ago. Noticed on weekend it is covered in hundreds is small rust spots. Rang Westinghouse to complain and seek replacement and they said here was nothing they could do because it was out of warranty. When I told them a $2000 fridge shouldn't look like this after 2 years they said there was nothing they could do. Eventually told me I could pay for a technician to come out and look at it at the cost of $140. Told them I shouldn't have to do this when it was a manufacturing fault. They said there was n...Read more
othing they could do. When I asked to speak to a supervisor was told that that was not possible and no one could help me. Am thinking of taking this issue public because Westinghouse obviously aren't going to do anything about it. If anyone has similar issue pls contact me ASAP. Crisper freezing.
The crisper in my 10 day old bottom mount fridge is freezing (starting day 3). I have had 2 techs out to see to it and both say it is perfectly normal for this to happen, that it always happens in bottom mount fridges and just to line the crisper with paper towel (I always do) and cover vegies with a tea towel?? Vegies are spoiling and I want to know if I have to put up with this for the life of my fridge. I replaced a Westinghouse fridge that is still running perfectly as I wanted a SS bottom mount fridge, so I am very disappointed. I have ...Read more

Beep Beep Beep
Four hours after the delivery guys shoved it in the hole the freezer alarm goes off. Checked manual then pressed reset. Fifty minutes later freezer alarm goes off again. Ring Electrolux service "there is no one who can give you technical support call the retailer". Rang Masters they rang the Electrolux rep - unavailable. Masters told me to turn off the fridge, I did. Turned it back on and four hours later BEEP BEEP. My husband decided to delay the alarm by 12 hours by pressing reset for 10 secs. (You need to sleep sometime). Didn't wor...Read more
k at 11.00 pm we turned the fridge off. It was running continuously at 78 watts and the freezer was -6 the fridge about room temp. Now have our 16 year old fridge on in an effort to prevent food spoilage. Am over loading and unloading fridges. When I emailed Electrolux they told me to ring their service number.... I already had, so what part of "there is no one who can give you technical support" that you don't understand. I just want a fridge that is going to stay cold and not BEEP BEEP. Lucky Masters have stood by the sale and are replacing this dud. Very disappointed by the response from Electrolux and yes, regret the purchase. Had Westinghouse fridges for 35 years with no problem now this. Fitted the hole, fruit and veg had telescopic drawers. It didn't work. The beep beep was driving me crazy. Electrolux service was deplorable. Don't seem to be able to fit as much in the drawers as the top mount freezer despite larger size freezer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good fridge, but died after 18months
I find the fridge practical, spacious with good shelves and features via LCD.
Mine unfortunately died after 18months (leaked all of the gas)
I purchased 5 year replacement warranty from harvey norman at the time and now have a new SCR model, working fine. I don't rate the freezer shelves too highly so would advise not stocking them too compactly.
Spacious, shelve adjustable
Dents easily, freezer shelves are weak and easily broken, especially with heavy meat

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid
wbm4300wbr model was bought Mar 2013. Completely dead by Dec 2013. Took one week to get a repairer out. Initially it was just the fridge that stopped chilling, but two days afterwards the freezer died as well. Under warranty, they replaced a motor-type fan part behind the freezer. Repair man said this happens all the time with upside down fridges (that was 9mths after purchase)
It's never chilled right since and the frost free freezer is always covered in chunks of ice.
Now another 10 mths after that the fridge has gone 24 hours as room ...Read more
temp and no longer cooling at all. 2nd repairman has now been out and said the fan blade was not pushed all the way in which would have caused the unreliable cooling. Also said we 'obviously' didn't shut the fridge and freezer doors because that's why there was a wall of ice blocking the fan. What the? Did not believe me that the cooling is intermittent, and he refused to stick his finger in the warm yoghurt I pulled out as proof that it was not chilled. Why would we keep the doors open? Of course we are shutting the doors! He's also turned the controller up to nearly full ball and said the vegies may freeze and to just 'jig' it if that happens. Very unhelpful however at least there seems to be a little bit of cold in the fridge now. Not sure how long this time it will last. Until the next time it all ices up I guess. Do NOT buy this unreliable fridge. The first 9 months, we were in love with this appliance, but that was it's life span. We've clearly been sold a lemon and Electrolux have advised on the phone that as long as it's repairable they will just keep replacing the part. This is clearly a lemon and should be replaced outright.4 comments

Never Buy from Electrolux !
Westinghouse / Electrolux Fridge ($1000) didn't last even 4 years..... they sent the technician for $135 to come & confirm the fridge is dead. Though they were prepared to fix it and charge me $35.00 for every 15 mins labour, but they never confirmed how long it takes to fix the fridge : 15 mins, 3 hours or the whole day. They also offered as a "GOOD WILL GESTURE" a new (the same) fridge for the reduced amount of $861 (plus delivery) - original price $1629.00. "What a bargain!" I can buy the same appliance myself by going online even cheaper. I...Read more

Crisper drawer needs telescopic runners like freezer drawers
I purchased the WBE4300 with the left hand opening because it fit with my kitchen better. It's much easier to reach the crisper when it's at mid-height and the drawers in the freezer are fantastic and easy to use as they are on telescopic rollers. In my opinion the crisper, when full (which is all the time), is really hard to close without telescopic rollers and feel should be included in this model. I have bad wrists from decades of typing and it really is a problem for me and a constant fight. I have ordered a spare crisper lid with rolle...Read more
r set from Big Warehouse Spares (NSW, Australia) for $100 including delivery and insurance. Considering the price difference of $500 for the Westinghouse -v- Electrolux version, I am still ahead. If it arrives and doesn't work I'll let you know. I'm sure I won't be the only one with this issue. Unlike others, I don't have a problem with the noise. I have wooden floors which echo around and don't even notice it purring quietly in the background. Easy organisation of food, is quiet and efficient. The crisper is really hard to close when 3/4 to full, have to push and fight. Should be telescopic like freezer drawers.2 comments

Nice,but noisy
Purchased this fridge/freezer as the doors can be left side hinged. The unit itself is very practical for our needs, but is noisy during operation to the extent that one longs for it to come out of cycle.
Plenty of room in both fridge and freezer, easy to keep clean, nice layout inside and out.
I do find the fridge stops and starts a lot even with no use.
Practical,smart looking.

Not such a good product
After having a Westinghouse bottom mount fridge for 22 years without one problem, i thought why not buy the same style and brand. We bought a WBM5100WBR fridge. Within the first two months the sides of the fridge would get so hot you could hardly touch them and inside the fridge everything was very damp -so much so that we have things like onions and carrots going mouldy.
I have never experienced a carrot going mouldy ever in my life. We believe we have a problem with this fridge, however Electrolux who make Westinghouse do not believ...Read more
e this is the case and will not honour their warranty. We paid $1600 for a rubbish product without any customer care whatsoever. Why would we ask for the fridge to be replaced when it is only 2 months old if there wasn't a problem? If only they had made a product like they used to i would have been very happy. I would think twice about buyng a Westinghouse given that their warranty and customer care don't hold any value. I don't think the glass shelves help as they don't allow the air to flow freely around the fridge which may be part of the problem. Anyway buyers need to beware of companies that provide warranty but don't see fit to honour it.3 comments

Great fridge
Very happy with this purchase.
Like the bottom mount freezer & much prefer drawers in the freezer compared to shelves. Like the little drawer at top of freezer for easily finding those small things like left over sauces etc.
The ice maker takes up quite a bit of room but you can romove the bucket to make more space.
Able to check temperature with the digital readout in fridge & set fridge for quick chill or freeze or holiday mode.
bottom mount. Freezer drawers.Digital panel in fridge to check temperature. Able to do quick chill for drinks.
Its quite noisy

I bought this Fridge/Freezer at Harvey Norman in Ipswich.
After checking out various manufacturers and models, I decided to go with this brand as it had good reviews and seemed like a smart buy. I'm glad I bought this product as it isn't too noisy and it manages to fit quite a cavenous amount of food into it.
Bought it with an extended three-year warranty.

The fridge (top) compartment is freezing food and water! The control display shows the fridge temp to be 7 degrees, which is higher than recommended (3-4) and definitely higher than actual - since it freezes.
How can i fix this? Thx.
