Paid $500 in August 2022 for travel insurance on a trip to US and Canada in May June 2020. Since purchasing the policy, they have changed it to not cover anything related to Corona virus, ie cancelled flights, recoup non refundable hotel fees, cancellation fees etc. The normal stuff you take insurance for. But whats really surprising is that when you seek assistance by cancelling the trip altogether in advance - nothing is covered there either (outside of what you yourself can arrange with the hotels and airlines) ! I wish I could give ZERO stars. We arrived at our accommodation in Whistler, only to be told we didn't have a reservation. Amoma.com had ceased to operate only two weeks prior. We were even notified by Amoma.com only days prior telling us our night at Whistle is coming up and to have a great time..LOL!

I have used a number of travel insurance companies in my life but world2cover are an absolute nightmare.
I ended up taking the highest cover in case of any issues for travel to Florida USA. I pre booked flights hotels etc. Only to find two days before my flight was due, Hurricane Dorian was set to hit Florida and a category 5 warning had been given. I called world2cover for advice to confirm if they will cover, altering our flights. The cover offered online might look fantastic but if it happens that you require to claim you might as well not bother trying. We purchased a policy to cover us for 10 days for a family trip to Bali, when our return flights were cancelled due to volcanic ash we weren't entitled to cover because the World2Cover website has a small warning in fine print since 2017 advising that due to the re-occurring eruptions policy holders are not to be covered for any cancellations. We took out a family travel cover policy for North America, including optional ski cover. Quote was very competitive and inclusions were good.
During the trip my wife required treatment for a rash. After a visit to the GP (resulting in steroid tablets and cream being prescribed), the rash worsened. Being Easter weekend we attended the emergency department. The doctor indicated that the rash was quite severe, gave her a steroid injection, and prescribed antibiotics as Cellulitis appeared to be a possibility.

We got their top cover option, partner had an accident and was hospitalised for operation. I had a legitimate claim. At the beginning of 2022, I was hospitalised in Spain for 5 days. I followed all instructions correctly, I called their emergency number and they authorised the hospitalisation, they were super helpful, they kept on in the phone for half an hour reassuring me that this was to prevent any delays with the payments; they also said that if the bill exceeded $2000, they would pay the bill directly.
