Slow speeds are just the beginning
NBN 25 (Sonic)Why even offer a call back system in your after hours times if you never intend to call back ?
The speeds have been terrible the last 2 years though this last few months have been pathetic. I have my office at home for bookwork and most days it struggles to even download an attachment on an email…
Like come on, you guys should be paying us to put up with this headache of a company.
Show detailsConstant drop-outs, zero customer service or tech support
NBN 25 (Sonic)After nightly drop-outs for weeks on end and zero tech support (they leave you on hold with no updates on your place in the queue and never call back) I changed to a more competent ISP. Avoid this company at all costs.

Im not sure Im actually getting the data amount i have paid for
NBN 25 (Sonic)Have retreated to my coast cabin in lockdown and heavily reliant on internet to run my business. I'm paying for the 250GB per month data pack, which is in reality 90GB during the normal waking hours of 7am to 1am. But i have been stunned by the amount of data I'm chewing through daily. Roughly 6GB a day normal useage. I thought at this rate I'll run out of peak data within days so I turned to my phone data and switched off the activ8me router. What I noticed was that at normal useage, with all other devices switched off I was averaging 3-3.5GB
... Read moreper day and this result appears consistent. My Telstra phone service is almost as fast as the NBN satellite and the data from Telstra is cheaper than Activ8me. I discovered that with Telstra now I can get 400GB for $75 a month and no lock in contract which means I can drop back to cheaper plans when I need in stead of chewing through my 90GB of activ8me data within two weeks at a cost of $90 a month!! the other 160GB of off peak data (1am to 7am) provided is pretty useless! My advice is to keep activ8me on the lowest plan for emergencies and go with another mobile broadband service provider and get bigger data packs for less. The socalled NBN satellite service is not actually fast and at times can drop out or be ridiculously slow. It's probably a service you'd need if cant get a landline phone connection or decent mobile reception.Unstable Connectivity + Unreachable Tech Support = Unsubscribed
NBN 25 (Sonic)My current plan is Activ8me 250GB $59.95 and I have been a member for over 2 years now.
To be fair, the service was mostly stable, but towards end of 2020, the experience was really bad especially between 6pm-11pm. I was unable to perform my work.
I paid for 20Mbps down and 5Mbps up, but receive 0.5Mbps down and 1-3Mbps up.
Rest assured that I have rebooted my router/modem and tested using only 1 device.
I consistently get a bad connection of 0.5Mbps down and 1-3Mbps up during 6pm-11pm.
I tried calling technical support, but they are not available after 8pm.
So I called in the morning, but waited over 1hour and finally gave up.
I did left a request for callback, but it never came.

To be honest, if the connectivity is stable and tech support is reachable, I would not have resort to this.

Customer support not as good as Boom's
NBN 25 (Sonic)I was a happy Boom Broadband's customer until they quit providing NBN services and my account was switched over Activ8me. I didn't notice any change in speed or congestion (60-70ms Perth to Sydney latency), although random dropouts occurred more frequently under Activ8me (impossible to tell if it's their fault or the NBN infrastructure's).
Customer support is not as good as Boom's, cancelling the service turned out to be not as straightforward as I was hoping. If you want to cancel a month-to-month service act ahead of time.
Hi Ammenz, thank you for providing your feedback to us, we appreciate it. Without outages on our end, and the same NBN infrastructure used, your service should have worked without any issues. For thes
