Rediculously slow
Now, if i charged extra for a service in my business and didnt deliver, my customers would hold me to account.
I have had several packages that just sit in one place for a week before finally moving and delaying the delivery.
Shocking service that obviously needs a shake up.

Obismal express dilivery
The item is 2 days late, & said onboard & never arrived. One small gesture from Aus post was a repayment/ re embersment of postage cost, but still to little to late leaving it a fairly dissapointing experiance.

They have improved the service considerably
Since my previous review for Australia Post I feel they have greatly improved their service. In some cases I might order something and it would literally arrive the next day. Not every time but on those occasions where it did I was very surprised. Regular post has also improved a great deal too with many parcels not taking half as long as they did before.

than it would with a courier (and is intact) then that's great. At least Australia Post deliver to my PO Box, obviously. Whereas some couriers, TNT for example, will refuse to deliver to a PO Box - even when I fudge the address and put the box number and road number in the delivery address. This is a big inconvenience for me as I'm a mobile service and cannot be home all the time to take a delivery. My preference is definitely AusPost over couriers now.1 comment

Deplorable service
Sydney inner metro to Melbourne inner metro. Should be an easy over night Express Post 1kg satchel. NO.
Posted 4pm Thursday in yellow Express Post box close to city, delivered in Melbourne following Tuesday. Five days. It was urgent, that is why I paid for Express Post. Normal post would have been faster. I really dislike Aus Post service. No wonder couriers are on the rise.

At least my parcel is not lost?
I wish I could say I love Australian Post but sadly I can't. What a shame.
I love shopping online therefore, I have to deal with the Australian post a lot of time. 30% of the time, I get my parcels, which is a nice surprise each time it happened.
But the rest of the time, what a nightmare. I will be home whole day, checking my tracking details, excited about my new purchase. There will be no buzz and the next thing I know my parcel is in post office. I'll have to drag my lazyass out of the house and haul my loot home. I wish there is a discount for doing my own home delivery.
And don't bother about making an online complaint, customer service will just close it as soon as you pick up from post office.

Lack of work effort and ripoff
In December a Christmas card took two weeks to come from Emu Park QLD to Brisbane.
Last Thursday a letter was sent express post, it hasn' t arrived. I am advised by other residents that AP does not express to areas that are considered rural or remote, but they accept the postage. So not to use express post. My local PO branch person advised me that if I pay 50c more she could send a letter off same day. However if I pay regular postage they would sort it when they had time maybe three to four days.
Appalling AP

Pathetic
I ordered a large article from an online retailer recently and paid extra for Express Post. My partner was home awaiting delivery with the door open once I received notification it was on board for delivery. No delivery was attempted,. Instead tracking stated couldn't be left on a safe place. They'd obviously been nowhere near the property..

tacting them by phone would be an OHS risk. Interesting because Uber drivers can be contacted, taxi drivers can be contacted and so can couriers. It's just Australia Post who seem to have this problem and I suspect it's because it suits them. No card was left. My partner and I both called Australia Post and were advised that the delivery driver had taken a photo as proof he couldn't deliver the item. It was a photo of his thumb... We were told it would be investigated and the parcel would be delivered in the next couple of days - for an Express Post item. Well at least they were supposedly going to rectify the problem - sort of. Long story short, no investigation was initiated and the story kept changing over time. After about the fifth contact with them I was told I'd have to collect it. I don't drive and as I said, it's a very large article. They then generously told me they'd transfer it to another post office closer to my home for a fee.1 comment

Australian Post is pricing themselves out of business!
Although I was happy with AP delivery to our customers over the past 10+ years, the current price increase has me looking elsewhere for shipping goods within Melbourne or the V1 region. An increase of 50% !!!! I can't believe it... just saved myself $$$ by using Pack & Send, dropping things off at my local branch just down the road from the post office. Even international deliveries (e.g. New Zealand) P+S provided a better service (faster delivery, better customs clearance) at around the same price.

AND, if I send it by SNAIL MAIL (regular post) it can take ONE week to deliver... it goes all the way from the EAST of Melbourne to the Sunshine sorting centre (in the WEST) and then back to the delivery centre in the EAST... my goodness you have a lot of CARBON to offset! Another parcel I haven't received by auspost.
They have managed to lose the parcel and don't accept responsibility for again, I'm so sick and tired of another government company that cannot produce.
I'm out of pocket $180 bucks from there negligence and unprofessional care.
If online companies choose to send via auspost I won't be buying from them full stop.
If everyone starts doing this auspost will lose business to teach this pathetic company a lesson to be learnt.

Australia post does not even notice Australian domestic addresses
I am losing multiple packages weekly with these complete morons. This week I have lodged 2 cases 29918101 and another and on both occasions when the operator looks up the address in the Australia post database the address does not show? On both occasions when I put the same address into the google search bar that American identity clearly shows the address. How on earth is it Australia post does not recognise an address but google from the USA does? This company or whatever they are is in a complete shambles.

Do not use the Australia Post Community Forums. I strongly agree with the comments of Zak L posted on 1 January 2020 (see review below). Hi, is the MyPost app currently not in operation? Express Post parcel I have sent 16/4 and express post parcel sent to me 21/4 are both reading PENDING. Thank you.

It may depend on where it’s coming from as postal service has changed it’s devices etc due to virus
I see. I sent one from Bass, Vic to Darwin NT. And the one sent to me was sent from Somerville Vic to Bass Vic
Hey Moi, having just finished going through this myself, this is what I know: You go to the AP website, then you need to dig around there until you find the delays info. You need to click on a few links, The last time I looked it was in the FAQ, via Covd 19 Domestic post updates. There is an update there from 14 April which says delivery to country and regional areas "may be delayed by up to X days...". Under this, both Darwin and metro Perth are listed, as both cities (except for CBD postcodes I think) are considered as regional and outside the express network for next day guarantee. Also at some point recently, the gaurantee was suspended, although the info is that Express is still the fastest way to send and natuirally still costs the same. I seem to remember that for Darwin it may have read " up to three days...". So whatever the expected time is for Victoria to Darwin via Express, you add 3 days to that. You have to dig even deeper to discover what the expected time fro Express delivery is to Darwin, but as I did find the table giving estimates recently I remember that Darwin from non regional Vic was 1-3 or maybe 1-4 business days. So if AP had your mail on 16/04,it would be expected on say 21 April (4 business days) at the latest in Darwin, then add 3 days for C19 delay and that takes you to 24th April ie tomorrow. That's just according to the unsimple, ambiguous and difficult to access info on the website. There is a more general statement that is more accessible that predicts " a few days delay" whilst other pages say "significant delays". So who knows?! A 'few" usually means three so. My express parcel Sydney to Perth took 14 days.
Danielle Pinalasked

How is that a parcel posted with regular standard parcel post can be processed in metro Perth on 8th April and delivered to recipient in regional NSW on the 15th April, yet an express post package going the other way can be dispatched from NZ on 7th April, handed to Aust Post in Sydney on 8th April post customs clearance, take 2 days to reach a major automated sorting facility also in Sydney on the 11th April, be sorted on the 12th April, be expected in metro Perth on the 15th April, be "delayed" on the 16th April, have a formal enquiry lodged on 16th April remain unaddressed as of 21st April, and remain in limbo as "delayed" with no further updates as of the 21st April? And Australia Post still offers its Express Post Service as the fastest way to have items delivered?
