I bought 2 items from Amazon. Sellers were US based. Notwithstanding the delays and lackof information due to Covid 19 the issue I has was the following;
The items arrived a the ShopMate delivery address on the same weekend
- They did not consolidate the items into one shipment
- and most of all the weights received and the weights on the ShopMate delivery for purposes of caculation of fright charges were substantially INCREASED based on the website Data

It costs me more than a 100 AUD to have two Sophia Disney Dolls for my grandaughter sent to Australia, far more than the value of the items.

DO NOT TRUST SHOPMATE

I cannot express my gratitude enough to ShopMate for their excellent service! After finding out what I needed to order was not being shipped to Australia during this worldwide situation, I took a chance on ShopMate. Pricing is on the more expensive side, but this is something that didn't even phase me; it was worth it in my case since I needed these items shipped and I was willing to pay extra for that. Delivery came on-time so there were no issues there. Thank you ShopMate for your fantastic service. You have REALLY helped me in a time of need and I will continue to use your service in the future and recommend you to everyone I know! :)

Two packages sent together - arriving different times. Told it takes 10 days.... Paid on 26 Mayember, tracking stated "Shipping information received by Australia Post" for over 6 days during which time Shopmate blamed Auspost and vice versa (Y'all are the SAME company, sort it out!!) eventually they scanned it in Sydney on 5 December and one has made its way to me today (13 December), with the other still coming. Cost over $100 for two parcels, one is only a tshirt... My estimated delivery date was 3-6 December. Thank Goodness I do all my online shopping so early.

I've never had a problem so I've never had to seriously test their customer service (only had simple queries) and the only annoying thing is that multiple packages couldn't be consolidated (or excess packaging removed) to save me on delivery fees (but that isn't a gotcha, they are upfront about it). I've used them for items in USA that the seller won't ship to Australia and the process, speed and website are fine. That said, with the Australian dollar down, plus adding gst, it has become less cost effective to buy from US, so I rarely do it now, however that is not Shopmate's fault.

$77.80 to send an under 500 grams smartwatch worth $150 USD. Billed at 1.73kg because Shopmate charges cubic volume of the stupid Amazon box. UPS would have been cheaper and wouldn't have charged me GST either. Never again. Hope this service shuts down.

Ive used Shopmate approximately 6 times and I have found there service to be great..I had one issue but it was resolved quickly. Will continue to use the service. I also use another site when I want to ship items that cant be sent via shop are.

Have sent 5 requests now for assistance to return parcels to sender with no response even though I have provided return labels. Have paid high costs for shipping of their parcels and still they have not been sent.

Cost of books was $14US

Auspost charged $44.03 for shipping.

It is an absolute ripoff but typical of the poor service us Australians have come to expect from this carrier.

Recieved quickly. Packed ok though the box wasn't fully taped shut.

Tracking ok, I didn't have updates while in the US, but once is was in AU, I could track it.

I am thankful that ShopMate is available.I had no problems whatsoever when I ordered a DVD that I could not purchase anywhere else.I was constantly updated by ShopMate and even though I thought the postage was a bit expensive I found that it was cheaper than other places. I am definitely using ShopMate again as more and more US stores that I have bought from previously stop shipping to Australia.Thank you for providing this service so that I can purchase goods that I want.

High quality service, but like concierge service and Manager there always goes extra mile for any relevant services in post office. And always can expect right advices regarding services and information.

I ordered 5kg of foam related products which were in two boxes (I paid the consolidation fee) from a USA based supplier that wouldn't ship to Australia - the cost of these products were $150USD. I was charged $355 for the shipment. When I picked the boxes up at the post office, the staff thought the fee was exorbitant based on the size and weight. The package did arrive when it said it would is the only solace in this transaction, but I won't be using AusPost's Shopmate again.

All I see is AUS post employees apologising to everyone because 'we know the cost can be a bit of a shock'. The answer to the problem appears to be - read better....

At no point does anyone explain WHY the fees are so high or why said fees are calculated in such an overly complicated way, except to say this is a service for people who are unable to get the item another way. So, It's okay to rip you off because you can't get it any other way?

I bought a jacket online. Its actual weight was 0.7kg. I was charged for 2.7kg. 60AUD in total. The system didn't give me the option of repackaging or whatsoever. Last time using this service. I wish I had seen these reviews before.

It’s just cost me $180 in postage to get a body pillow over from America. Wish I’d read these reviews first. What a rip off!! Shame on you Australia Post!
