We purchased a new home in September 2020 which was fully furnished including a Fisher & Paykel washing machine which although it was twelve years old it had very minimal use. This machine started playing up eight months later and we decided to go for a new machine rather that repair the old one. Harvey Norman had the most suitable machine in stock at a cost of $770 plus $110 delivery, installation and removal of the old machine. The delivery men installed it incorrectly as they mixed up the connection of hot and cold taps. This caused us ma...
Read moressive problems until we realised what it was and fixed it our selves and since then it as worked without fault. Harvey Norman were not interested in our complaints about the poor installation. This machine works very well, it is quiet, very simple to use and we are satisfied with the cleanliness of the laundry. To us, most importantly the machine rarely goes out of balance and when it does it usually because we have either over-loaded it or loaded it incorrectly. It is very similar to F & P machines that we have owned over the past 30 odd years which is good.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $770.

I bought my first Fisher & Paykel washing machine in 1999 and with only a new pump it was still in good working order. I only decided to buy a new one because the manufacturers seem to be going over to front loaders which I loathe.
The F&P 8kg “low profile” top loader has no sticking up agitator, but a “flying saucer” in the base of the tub. The machine is slightly narrower but still takes a big load and uses far less water than my old one.
The sales people are all trying to flog front loaders and will tell you that without the agitator...
Read more, clothes will become entangled, but I haven’t experienced that. Some stores will tell you that F&P do not make low profile in the 8kg but this is rubbish. You need to look at the model number which will begin “WL” not “WA”. I was a bit wary of the big knob to dial up the type of load, thinking it was a backwards step, but it is very easy to use. The electronic buttons are very responsive - your finger only needs to be close to them, not really touching. It cost an extra $400 but I figured that if it lasts as long as my previous F&P, I will be well pleased.- 3 reviews

This is my 2nd Fisher & Paykel top loading machine, previous one lasted about 15 years. I have had this machine for approx 1.5 years and it hasn't missed a beat, it is quiet and cleans beautifully and very easy to operate.
And a shout out to appliances on line, they take away the old and replace with the new, they plug it all in to make sure it operates OK.
You wont be disappointed with this purchase.

Bought this unit during lockdown on applicancesonline.com.au after our old machine finally gave in. The washer was delivered next day, kudos to Applicanceonline! I know that front loaders are the more popular models these days as are generally more energy efficient. However, with elderly parents, a top loader model was the only option as I didn't have existing shelving to lift the frontloader off the floor. The machine is very easy to use, and the the digital display has pre-programmed wash cycles which means that loads can be started with ...
Read morethe push of 2 buttons. As a bonus there is a soak option so I can set and leave the heavily soiled items soaking before I start the main wash. It has a great stainless steel barrel and is super quiet to operate. Very happy with the unit and am confident that this will last in our household for many many years.Purchased in for $1,000.

Great machine, cannot fault. Love it. First machine lasted over 15 years then gave away as needed a bigger one, second was 9 years old and going strong, gave to my son as starting out in his first place. Newest one even better!

I had to replace my old F & P & ended up deciding on the 8kg smart drive model.
I love the low agitator, the water saving option, delayed timer, count down timer so you know exactly how much time is left on your load.
Clothes come out so clean & even less lint on them than I have ever had.
Takes up less floor space that my old model but with the same capacity.
Still trying to work out how to save my washing preferences but it is only early days but it is easy enough just to set them each time.
So much quieter than my last model..

This washing machine is amazing to use. We are a family of 5 and constantly need to wash laundry. It is functional and saves me half the time compared to my last washing machine! Fully recommend this product to everyone as it’s useful and stylish.

Can fit ALL the family towels with room to spare. Monster wooden blankets too. Best buy since last size ‘industrial’ washer too small. Everything automatic. Spinner cycle almost dries them too. This machine is not wet behind the ears!

Our old machine broke about a month ago on a Saturday morning. My husband went online to appliances online and ordered the 8.5kg top loader
1. It was affordable and price competitive
2. It would be delivered Monday free of charge and old machine taken away.
We have had no issues at all with this new machine. Its efficient, quiet and a great rating.
We use it for general and also work clothes.
Our old machine used to leave white and black marks on our clothing.
When I did the very first wash I couldnt

Gets my clothes clean and handles big loads without unbalancing. Button layout is easy to see and use. I avoid using the auto water level as I have found that it is too conservative and did not rinse the washing powder off sufficiently; no issues when manually set with a generous level. Super quiet. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

So easy to use. A great washing machine that will make your clothes clean and fresh. It senses the amount on clothes you have put in and adjusts the water level to suit.

Questions & Answers
On the HEAVY cycle only when it is on the last spin it sounds like a coin is spinning around under the bowl. It doesn't make the noise on any other cycle.
I have a repairer coming to have a look but would value any comments if anyone else has had this happen and what it could be.
Hi my washing machine is about 9 years old it is now very slow and keeps going out of balance. Is it worth replacing parts or is it time for a new one
Thank you
