Never buy a Huawei phone
Purchased a Huawei P20 Pro less than 12 months ago. Despite the company's claims that the phone is waterproof the main board got damaged and the company refuses to replace it under warranty. I will never buy a Huawei phone again. The company does not honour its warrantys

One year on and been a great phone
Started just taking pics from my phone instead of carrying a camera on my trips after I got this phone. Takes some seriously great pics. Both the software and hardware for the camera are excellent. user interface could be better but not a deal breaker.
had great battery life when not much data was stored. one year on and even with lots of data (over 100GB) stored on the phone it still performs well.

20 months old absolute rubbish
20 months old phone just coming out of contract, battery life down to 3 hours, incoming calls going straight to voicemail without calling, after last update this phone which I really liked before started falling apart, now instead of being able to use it once it is off contract, I will have to ditch it and buy another one .

Top phone
Bought this phone recently, this is my second after firstly purchasing the huawei P10(which was a fantastic phone, excellent features & value for money.) Once again Huawei have created another fantastic phone. Nothing to fault at all. Previously I was a Sony & Samsung user & I was unhappy with them.
Rock on Huawei.
Looking forward to my next purchase from you.

Great samasung alternative
Always had Samsung galaxy's for the last 6 years which I have always been happy with. Changed to the Huawei, and been pleasantly surprised, it has surpassed my every expectation. 2 key features for me are battery life and photo quality, and the Huawei is best in class on both these conditions. Will buy a Huawei again for my next phone

This is a great phone for the price
I have been using this phone for about a year and it is absolutely great. The camera is well built with pretty good photos taken at night. The phone is well built. No cracks despite dropping it without cases for a few times. The brightness of the phone is fair. It has a fast processor that allows me to play all the games without any problem. Overall a great phone. The design could have been better. The battery starts to drain after half a year.

Hauwei P20 Pro ticks more than a few boxes.
This is my third Hauwei phone, but why Hauwei a couple of reasons i used to have a Samsung but found the updates just stopped after a few years and the phone became old too quick. My current P20 Pro is also bought outright and the reason for than is if you buy on a plan from a phone company your updates are supplied by them and they are slow, i purchased mine from JB hifi so i get my updates direct from Huawei. The P20 Pro camera is outstanding and seen as one of the best on the market also the screen is bright and vibrant. The only small dis...Read more
appointment is the quality of the speaker as it sounds a little tinny compared with my old Nexus P6 (made by Huawei) but its not terrible. Love the battery life and the quick charger. I have dropped the P20 a few times and also my cat has launched if off the kitchen counter onto the stone floor and the provided case an film on the screen does protect it well. Watching videos from Youtube are clear and the pictures have a nice glossiness about them and i would has better than my sons Pixel 3. The Trump knee jerk reaction hasn't changed my outlook on the phone and i would happily buy the new version next year.Purchased in September 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for $1,066.00.

Best Android Phone Ever
I have always had Android phone since my first mobile phone. I have a habit of doing a lot of research and comparing the technical attributes before making a decision. After having used it for over a year, I am satisfied with its performance and qualities. When I received the package, the box is neatly packed with all the essentia accessories to get it start and running. One of the highlights is its camera performance. More than once during my casual conversations with my friends, I have been asked what the brand / model is after they have seen...Read more
my photos and videos. The video quality is great also as it captures both movements and sounds with low level of interference. I tend to use my phone a lot for emailing, texting and sharing of files, the phone handles it smoothly. The battery is quite durable assuming I am not using battery-consuming apps such as Youtube, or playing video games. When charging the phone using the normal method with a power cord, the process is usually done within 2 hours. Overall, I'm happy with the product and highly recommend it.Similar opinion? Best camera phone
Greatest camera ever even at night, robust battery, clear display, with a 6gb RAM, apps run smoothly, never hanged. Private space is another phone in a phone, completely separate and it's great to switch between the two by just using a different finger print. Install games for the kids on the main space and use private space for work.

Bloatware spoils experience
Alot of included software makes experience clunky. Regularly get pop ups from Huwai asking for permission for personal information. Phone keeps taking screenshots accidently (guess its the way I hold the phone or the buttons stick out - didnt have issue with my old phone) Hardware seems decent, fairly quick, no complaints about screen.

Best phone especially for travels!
I absolutely love this phone. I was looking for a phone with a decent camera for my travels. I didn't want to take my Nikon camera as it is bulky, heavy and cumbersome. So I did alot of research and bought this phone 2 years ago and it is the best buy ever. All my holiday snaps were amazing. I even got the photos printed out on canvas at Kmart and they turned out sharp and perfect as they would have done on Nikon camera! Amazing! The storage space is huge even with thousands of photos, videos and hundreds of apps I'm still using under half. My ...Read more
dad was impressed with my phone that he bought the latest P30 Pro as he got tired of carting his camera around too. we've taken photos of the same thing from far out distance mine ironically was better, better colours and sharper however zooming in the p30 pro was the definite winner. We have travelled to 5 countries so far this year and going to another in a few months. It is the best thing I ever did getting this phone to replace my bulky camera on my travels! Battery life is also insane, it lasts for days with heavy usage! I watched videos and played games throughout flights for two days and still had just under half battery left!Purchased in August 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for $1,200.00.

very bad customer service
Very bad customer service, while we getting mate 20 pro, there is a promotion saying that we got a bonus watch, after that we received a email saying that there is free buds too, but after 2 months time, nothing happened, so we rang up to find out what's going on, at first, speaking to a lady called Crystal, ask us to email her the original email that was sent to us by Huawei. we also call back to make sure she has received it, but after around 2-3 weeks time, still nothing happened, we called back again speaking with a lady called Collene, sh...Read more
e told us Crystal has left the company, ask us to email to her the same document again to her, still nothing happened, so we called her up today to find out if there is any updates, guess what she told us we cannot have both watches & buds, if the result is like this, why Huawei customer service not telling us at the first time when we ring up, honestly, we thought they just don't want to manage the case & just make up stories. Those freebies is nothing, only concerns us is staff's attitude, wasting customers' time, not even sending a email to let customer know the updates about their queries. Really may be this review means nothing to them, but still want to let people know about their way treating customer, Hopefully Huawei's senior officer can focus at their staffs more often, it is hard to get customers, but easy to lose them.Purchased in January 2021.

Ok phone.Not worth the price
PRO: Great battery life, awesome camera, unlocks fast, dual sim, high RAM, high storage
Con:Software issues, doesn't auto rotate, lag on numerous apps, had to keep restarting for some apps to work, video quality are not as good, need to use an adapter for phone jack (provide), bad split screen function
I tried very hard to like this phone but the software issues ruined it for me. Has the potential to be a great phone if they fix all the glitches. ATM is not worth the price they are asking for it. Does not compare well with other phones in its category

Great Camera, Battery life
The camera is the differentiating feature on phones now. The P20 Pro has a great camera and has for the most part handled all my test shots. Sometimes the images look a little over processed.
This phone has an OLED display and provides plenty of brightness even in direct sunlight.
Battery life is decent on the phone, and with my use it lasts about 1.5 days.
The fingerprint reader is responsive and unlocks the phone almost instantly.
There is a pre-applied screen protector in the box and a simple TPU case meaning there is no hurry to buy...Read more

Poor customer service
Really good phone in theory. But when I started having battery issues, Huawei were unhelpful and ultimately useless, preferring to hide behind loopholes in the warranty language than help.
The staff didn't serm to be technically adept or well informed about warranty issues or infrastructure.
I can't see myself buying another Huawei product.

Great if you like Instagram style photos
I used to be a fan of Sony's phone because of their camera quality but now complexly fall in love with Huawei. The camera is wonderful if you like the Instagram style photos but if you are the real photographer, it may not be suitable. I love it not only for the great camera, but for all the functions. The Smart assistance is cool. It schedule the power on and off time. The motion control is also great. The eye comfort filter out the blue light to help protecting the eye. It also allow you to choose what apps to launch from the start up ...Read more
to save power. The best thing is, the power cable included charge the battery super fast. From 60%-100% i think it take around 20 mins, if not less. The only minor issue that I found is the brightness will change back to "automatic" after every restart which I prefer to do it manually. Other than that it is a perfect phone.Similar opinion? Great Camera Phone
I love taking photos & videos so having this excellent phone cam is very helpful ensuring a good gear is always with me. This is replacing my broken Xperia Z5. It is still new but camera so far works well days and nights, & taking kid action nicely, no complain so far. Software run smoothly with regular updates from Huawei. I use it for music player and watching movies on flight so it's big battery & crisp screen is one of the reasons of purchase. But number#1 reason is its price.

So much more than a phone. Really happy with it.
I was an Apple fanboy and I was worried about switching to Android, after some reassurance from friends, I took the leap. As a photographer I was very keen to get my hands on this product. The idea of having a phone that can double as a camera, sounded very appealing. It is everything I thought it would be and more. Unbelievably good in low light and the photo quality in general is exceptional from a phone. The display is nice and clear and also very bright. Battery life is absolutely amazing, running of about 20 mins charge per day. Apps run smoothly and I find the factory installed launcher (EMUI) to be very user friendly.
