Fraud: money taken, goods not provided
I paid for a sofa and it's delivery but did not receive anything. Very rude and negligent staff. They just stole my money. Never buy anything from IKEA, it's a fraud.
Update: After a month of calling the customer service, writing negative reviews an filing a claim to Fair Trading, the delivery finally came - they provided entire sofa instead of the missing parts requested. Now I've got 1.5 sofas! And they offered me to return two big 20 kg boxes to their store by my own. Fantastic idiots! A good story for a Hollywood comedy.
Never ever deal with IKEA!

The worst customer service, and faulty products.
Bought a chair for $400 and when I put it together one leg didn't touch the floor. Took about a dozen e-mails to get anything done and then I waited a month for replacement legs that didn't fix the problem. I wanted to use the chair so fixed it myself but asked for a partial refund as it was faulty. I was told they'd consider that feedback. Not long after the chair was permanently reduced to $250, so I paid $150 extra for a faulty product. My sister recently contacted them and it took a month to get a (rude, incomplete) answer. We've spent thousands of dollars there in the past but neither of us will be shopping there again. Would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Impossible to navigate.
I went into the Ikea store in Tempe, Sydney with a cranky baby in a sling. I just wanted a stool. The signs are so vague, they're as good as useless. I kept on asking the staff for help but, after ten minutes and now with a screaming baby, I arrived back at my starting point. I asked two members of staff to actually walk with me to the lifts (NOT signposted). Both refused and gave me a general wave with further vague instructions. I finally said that I wasn't going to move until someone actually walked to the lift with me to the lift. A ...Read more
reluctant young woman then took me to the lift. This store is truly appalling the way it deliberately makes it difficult to go in and out of the store quickly. I knew what I wanted from looking online but it still took me 40 minutes to buy a stool. Corporate consumerism at its very worst.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Customer service nightmare
We bought a new Ikea kitchen and had them delivered. Two large panels were delivered damaged. Two days later, replacement panels were delivered, also damaged. Each time we had to waste our time waiting at home for the delivery. We were asked to wait another 2 days for another delivery with no assurance that the replacement panels won't be damaged. Our kitchen is due for installation in 3 days and we can't afford to receive damaged products again. We suggested that we would come to the store, inspect the panels, hire a van and take them home ou...Read more
rselves and wanted Ikea to reimburse us for our cost. The customer service manager that we spoke to refused to accept our suggestion. Our only option was to keep waiting for Ikea to deliver the goods and pray that they are not damaged, and if they are, well just keep waiting because no one from Ikea has authority to approve customer reimbursement. IKEA were great Sentup install run with your wallet
Firstly the service and help at ikea Tempe was outstanding.
Sentup the installers based at chipping norton I am surprised are still in business.
Unethical- hidden charges not communicated,
Mistakes and recharging on the bill the hope you don’t pick up as the bills are complex and over a few different bills. Then threaten you to the debt collectors even after paying 98% of the bill.
Inaccurate measure- they had to cut my bulkhead
Due to poor measurement at initial quote.
Staff hate their Job- my guy quit because they treated him so terribly.
My strong advice do not use SENTUP based at chipping norton.
*this advice is only based on the work they did for me.

Appalling customer service
I arranged with install2you on 19/07 for an installer to put together a full bedroom package and TV unit on 28/07. The installer called me on 20/07 and confirmed time and address.
I ordered and received my goods ready for installation.
On Wednesday 26/07 I rang install2you to arrange an amendment and was told I would receive a call back to confirm. On Thursday I rang to follow up and told my request was now listed as urgent. No call back received.
Installation was set for 0900 yesterday. At 11.30am -ample time to allow for a delay - I...Read more
rang install2you to find out what had happened?? I was told I would be contacted once they had followed up with the installer - I have not received any phone call to explain what happened. I now have no furniture set up to put everything away. I have commitments and have now had to reschedule everything because of this appalling service. It was a large order and was not cheap. IKEA are very happy for you to come on in and purchase their products but their assembly service which they advertise proudly is nothing short of appalling. I was recommended this service by a satisfied customer and they are horrified this has happened to me. Not happy and would never recommend this service ever! IKEA for business customers (can't offer service).
Went into IKEA weeks ago, was informed that if you are a business you can order via email. Went back home (which is 1.5 hours from local IKEA store!) and made an account and put together our order through the 'shopping list'. Emailed order and got a reply saying order received on 24th of June at 3.11pm. Called up to see how long this would take, was informed turn around time was 24 - 48 hours however because we are outside of Sydney order's only delivered on Saturday. Asked the girl if this we had a real chance of this happening and was told ma...Read more
ybe not so come in store and order as it's next day delivery? Drove again 1.5 hours to IKEA and went to make order in store for delivery, was informed that delivery is only Saturday's (yes was originally told this but was told over the phone by girl it would be next day delivery). Then was told that half the order was out of stock (which updates every 30 mins!). Told the guy 'ok we'll order what is in stock and add to order when it comes in' (it was meant to come in in the next few days). He told me can't do this, you'd need to come back in store to do this! I said ok I'll ring on the day and order, no can't do this either, you have to come back in store. He then told me to just leave it and wait until someone calls to confirm my emailed order. Went home and have now waited until today (28th) and called and been told they don't have my email order and to send again. Sent order again and have been told someone will get back to me within 24 - 48 hours but I'll miss this Saturday's delivery. Complete waste of time! Here's some business advice IKEA.. don't offer business services in NSW if you can't supply stock and delivery!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Faulty product - would not accept return - poor customer service representative
Large mirror purchased. Within 12 mths of mirror being hung, glass pulled away from timber frame (clearly mirror too heavy for flimsy timber frame) and was no longer able to be hung. this was a relatively expensive purchase for an Ikea product and when I spoke with customer service they said it was basically bad luck - they would not accept return despite the product being not fit for purpose. Their customer service representative was abrupt and unpleasant to deal with and her supervisor was only marginally more professional (staff attitude ...Read more

Kitchen backsplash nightmare
My partner and I renovated our kitchen using Ikea stone and backsplash which was an absolute nightmare. Having installed the kitchen cabinets ourselves we were told my the GMG sub contractors it was out 2mm over 3m and needed to be fixed before installation. We made the corrections and the stone benches were installed, however they were installed with the sink hole cut wrong and the joins not level. We complained and they came and fixed this. From here the backsplash could be installed. They came 7 times over a three month period to do this!! O...Read more
n separate occasions they did not cut powerpoint holes, they cut the glass to the wrong measurements as well as having it shattered during delivery. Having left part of the job done they came back to finish it off however the glass was not from the same batch and did not match with the glass already on the wall. Each mess up meant a two week delay while the glass was remade. Throughout this process I took several days off work and frequently had to call to find out where the workmen were. Twice I was told they were coming but only after waiting several hours were told they were not going to make it. This whole experience has cost us hundreds of extra dollars (no kitchen for 3 months) as well as delayed our other tradesmen from finishing there work. I am in the process of requesting a refund however this does not cover the extra money we have spent due to the incompetence of GMG stone and Ikea. I would highly recommend that you do not use Ikea for stone or backsplash services.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ikea Kitchen - terrible long lasting experience.
We bought Ikea kitchen from Ikea in Tempe. We had full online design and plan of action ready to go. We also included IKEA bench top and splash back. To start with took over 4 hours to order the kitchen - that was already in the system and online design - designed by Ikea representative/designer that Ikea provides for ONLY 100$. Then 2 days later when all those flat-packs arrived, it was missing a lot of content and we had to spend half a day on the phone trying to chaise those missing parts. Then we started assemble all those cabinets, some of...Read more
them, not many, were missing screws and little pieces so we had to find ways to go around it. When we called IKEA we have been told that missing screws are impossible as they always add extras to the packs - trust me they don't! After getting everything assembled and levelled - we did it ourselves with my brother in law, we called IKEA to organise Bench top. So within a week a very arrogant and rude man came over and started measuring everything, he said it's all "crap' as it wasn't 100% levelled and told us that we have to pay for him 110$ for next visit to do measurement. I asked if he can wait 5 minutes as I can adjust little plastic legs at the bottom, he said he is in great rush and he already overstayed in our place and left - GOOD ON IKEA! Then we called this IKEA contractor again to come over and again he said it is off. Now to give you an idea, we had a couple of professional builders coming over and measuring it themselves and they said they wouldn't do it better. So once he said that it is off, we have asked by how much, he said 1 mm, I couldn't stop laughing and told him to better take that measurement, which after rolling his eyes and just having very negative attitude, he did. After about ten days guys came over with ready to install Bench top. When they left me and my wife had a look inside the cabinets and the quality was terrible. Silicon everywhere inside, on the bottom shelves, on the draws inside, absolutely worst job ever done. So ugly. Then we called IKEA to organise measuring for splashback, guess who rolled in? Yes our favourite measurer. So MR IMPORTANT started measuring and whistling and talking in his own language (arabic I think) then after 15 minutes we asked him, how does he know what our requirements are. He answered I just assume, so I couldn't believe. I asked if IKEA gave you actual design, and splash back measure that we already payed for - yes we payed for splashback and benchtop on the beginning. So our splashback was a little higher in some places as there was no cabinets but only wall and we designed it together with IKEA staff members. When we showed MR MEASURE 3d design he said he think it will not look good and we should leave it the way he measures so far. I thought I'll pop up an egg by then and asked him very calmly to take that measure that we want and that we paid for, with again rolling eyes and scrambling some Arabic word under his big nose. Still waiting for splashback to call and arrange time to get it all done. So it's been over 1 month without kitchen and the worst and most terrible service there is. I am very disappointed with IKEA, their product quality and their services and I am begging you not to make the same mistake as we did. IKEA KITCHEN = FAIL1 comment

Terrible, will never shop there again, from experience in store, to delivery and assembly
Firstly in store the products we wanted to purchase didn't even have prices on them, then the colors we wanted were "in stock but withheld from sale" so we had to stand around while that was sorted. Then the sales guy kept adding multiples of items to our orders instead of just one, and we finally figured out when he went through everything, why the price has skyrocketed. Then we told the guy clearly our address was not accessible by truck. So what does IKEA send, a huge truck with one tiny little Indian guy to unload 20 boxes. He refused (obvi...Read more
ously the guy was tiny) to bring the 20 boxes in from the street, not even that far away. Then I was told angrily by some IKEA customer service woman he was speaking to on the phone, that I should have "specifically requested a van" because apparently the notes that the guy made in store that lane inaccessible by truck and would have to park on parallel street, were not clear enough for them to send a van. Then I also find out from the angry IKEA person that assembly was scheduled for Wednesday week, when we were told by the guy in store that it would be Wednesday this week, so we had a mattress coming as well from another store. They said they would have to fail delivery and redeliver another day and that would be organized whenever the truck got back to the store, later today or tomorrow. So my husband then rings the store and asks for a supervisor, they don't call back even after their "lunch break" so he has to call again. Finally has to threaten them as I had already taken the day off work for this delivery. So they send a van back at 6pm, but here's the next drama, they only send one guy again to unload the 20 boxes so the guy says I have to help. So I end up doing 50% of the work I have paid for. The guy in store told us we had to make sure that we get he delivery "people" to put the items in the room where they are to be assembled. As the assembly people do not move boxes or items from room to room. Mind you I have a pulled muscle in my back and shouldn't be lifting anything right now. I ask the delivery guy if he will put them upstairs, he refused. I explain why and he says no you and your "friend" have to do it. So my husband rings IKEA and tries to get someone to come and help us move the heavy boxes upstairs as I am not capable right now. Mind you we only live in a tiny terrace. They refuse and tell us that assembly people will walk out and leave unless we have the boxes in the room for assembly which we are still trying to get rescheduled. I will never shop at IKEA again, if I was capable to lifting heavy boxes around I would have hired a van and driven the items home myself and saved myself a fortune, I can't believe I have paid for all these services that they have refused to do. From work go it has been mistakes and fumbles with this terrible company. NEVER AGAIN.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
From choosing an item to delivery.. terrible.
I'm renovating my entire home with Ikea products. Kitchen/wardrobes and so on. I had my wardrobes delivered which they wouldn't take up stairs for me. It states in terms and conditions if there is easy access they will take it up. I had to pay movers to come on top of my IKEA delivery fees because they refused to take my purchase up a few stairs. Eventually when I got the installers to come they built my wardrobe stating I had no door handles. Whoever designed my wardrobes at the IKEA store in Tempe failed to mention I need to order door handle...Read more
s separately which meant going back to IKEA and again outsourcing a handyman to drill in my handles. Too many unnecessary costs at my expense because of IKEA poor service in following through from design to order to delivery to install. I'm very unhappy with my IKEA experience and doubt I will go ahead with my kitchen with them because of the uncertainty with successful completion and headaches for me. In dealing with the design process for my kitchen each of the 5-7 times I've been back to amend design someone new informs me of an error in measurements for my kitchen. I could assume this same issue would happen when it came To installing my kitchen. There is no surety and hat is unacceptable considering the amount of money I have and will be spending with Ikea.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ikea can't be bothered
It is always difficult to feel warm and fuzzy towards a company that doesn't respond to job applications. They're happy to take our money, I gather happy to avoid tax. I think they could at least send out an email or letter to unsuccessful applicants rather than leaving them waiting, expectantly, until they give up.
