Exceeded Our Expectations.
This is the first and only robo sweeper we have purchased about 2.5 years ago. We were a bit weary about the life span so we purchased an extended replacement warranty from the seller also. Haven't needed the warranty as it is still going strong, hardy build and does a good job. We use for tiles only.

Great lil' guy
I wouldn't want to run this lil' guy when I'm home due to the noise, but it's great to get the vacuuming done while I'm out and about. Does an excellent job on the carpets, sometimes it'll miss some things on tiles, but I usually just run it pretty frequently anyway.

Thank you for reviewing the new Roomba R637. These are a great little device for cleaning the home. Even better that we can use them whilst we are out, saving us from the noise of vacuuming.

Perfect for me
I have just upgraded to the R637 from the R570 model I had for 6 years. It bit the dust last week and too expensive to have cleaning head replaced. I found Retravision had a VIP sale and bought it for $424.00
Charged him up. Then off he took, I did the whole top of the house. It collected an amazing amount of debris. Yet I had only vacuumed a few days before. This really beats as it sweeps as it cleans. It is much quieter than the older model. And gentler too as it approaches furniture, it slows right down, the 570 used to hit hard.

Great for reducing housework
This vacuum does a great job of picking up dog hair on polished wooden floors but it can scratch floors. I recently had a small rock is lodged in the unit and this resulted in many shallow scratches as I was at work when it was running and didn’t see the damage until I got home. The sensor works well and it docks itself perfectly if the recharging unit is stuck to the ground well - otherwise it just pushes the charging station around the floor.

Lasted >4 years
Battery life less now but can clean a whole room with one charge
Initially could do an hour or so, now perhaps 30mins
We've had it for 4 years now
Was handy for living in apartment and small spaces
But could usually clean a few rooms at a time with initially battery life.
Reasonable suction, good for hair
Not always predictable what's covered and not (especially on carpet).

Makes vacuuming so much more easier. You can set at timer ok it so that it vacuums and recharges whole at work or out. It is a little noisy but nothing that can’t be lived with. I find the brushes do get clogged up easily though which can be a bit annoying

I had one in the office for about 3 months and i was so sick of it banging into my chair, my desk, the door, the thing had no sense of direction and the amount of times i nearly fell over it was ridiculous. If it dies, I'll be buying another
This is my second Roomba, and it performs very well as far as suction goes on both carpet and hard floors. I did notice that it has left a mark/removed paint around all walls and my fridges etc which I can't remove but have overcome this now by putting self adhesive floor protectors (the kind you stick to the bottom of chair legs) around the perimeter, being careful not to place any in places that would affect docking. Unlike my first Roomba, this one does have docking issues (from before adding the protectors) and often even manual docking won...Read more

Don’t know how I kept the house clean without this thing
‘Jerry’ our 630 is the best appliance I have in the house. Had him for about a year now and it’s still going strong. I was so surprised when I first used it on carpet and saw how much dust and pet hair it actually picked up that my Electrolux regular vaccum missed. I now vaccum once a week if that and I own 3 cats

Does a great job
Great for the price. Does a good job on carpets as well. The suction/cleaning is so efficient I have to empty it on numerous occasions in the one battery run. I close doors so it ‘Harry’ does one room at a time. Quite loud so we put Harry on when we go out for our morning coffee etc. I like how he makes his way back to his charger when battery going flat.

4 years of excellent service
We love our Roomba.
The house we currently own is tiled through-out, the Roomba is perfect for it. Our previous house was all floating floors and it was perfect there too. We have cats and it catches all their loose fur. Thanks to the Roomba the entire place gets vacuumed weekly for a time cost to me of about 20-30min in total.
When we first got our 630 i ran a test where i vacuumed our bedroom with the Dyson, then i ran the Roomba - the Roomba was able to clean some stuff the Dyson missed. We then did the reverse (Roomba then Dyson) in ...Read more
another room and the Dyson picked up nothing extra. Soon after this we sold our Dyson and have only used the Roomba since. One thing that might be a negative for people is that you need to clear up a room before you vacuum it, but we find that this just encourages us to keep the room as clutter-free as our 2 year-old will allow. To be honest the time i take to move a few things off the floor and check that no spare wires are hanging out is MUCH less than the time it would take to vacuum with a normal machine. The 2 things i am not so much a fan of are: 1. The 'auto-docking' is pretty useless IMHO. The dock skids across the floor and if you have a big house then you need to move it from room to room anyway... we just plug it in directly and ditched the auto-dock1 comment

Set And Forget
This thing terrifies the cat but apart from that it is great.
I often forget we even own it and will see it going past the doorway going about its business.
We only use it in the lounge dining area with floorboards because that's where it does the best work. Of course its made for carpet too but you have to empty it way to ofet and it does a really good job on floorboards.
You still need to vacuum as always especially skirting areas but this does a great job of picking up crumbs and general everyday sprucing up.
Emptying out the dust is very easy and the construction quality is good.
Still use it all the time two years later so its definitely a good machine

Good, but you have to move a lot of stuff out of the way
We bought the Roomba because we have two young, messy kids. Handheld vacuuming each night was getting annoying, so we thought we'll get this, turn it on when we go to bed (or when we go out) and be done with it.
It generally works well for smaller stuff. We had a flour spill one day and it was not particularly good at getting that up, but it works well on general food crumbs and the like. Also great for pet hair.
It doesn't get everything first pass. We've learned to just leave it and let it do its thing until the battery runs out.

ause our kids are young, we can't just keep the charging station in a corner and let the Roomba go back to it. We need to charge it in a room they can't access, bring it into the room that needs vacuuming, and then pick it up and take it back for a charge when done. A small thing to worry about, really, but it does mean we miss out on that functionality. It can't sweep well under the table and chairs, because it can't fit between all of the legs. We need to pick the chairs up and put them on the table, which means the table needs to be clear. Often our table isn't clear, so that's a bit of extra work for us. And of course we need to clean up the toys.1 comment

I love this as it makes me feel like I’m working! Surprisingly efficient. Sometime annoying as “he” zips past same piece of dust 20 times. I set him off and go do laundry. I like being around as I’ve a dog and he. An get stuck!! Love it. Use it one end if House and Dyson stick the other. Hardly take out big vacuum any more!

Very happy with the purchase, use it everyday
Save a lot of housework from vacumming, we use it almost everyday or every 2 days, and it can clean the floor very clean, it does not have too much noise, so can be used anytime you want. and clean up the dust tube also easy. highly recommended to everyone.

Genuine time saver - rarely have to vacuum manually
I was a bit skeptical about how effective a robotic vacuum cleaner would be at cleaning (surely it couldn't compare to the Dyson handstick we use) but have been pleasantly surprised. While the Dyson still - unsurprisingly - has better suction, the Roomba routinely gets to places that would require moving furniture around. I was actually quite shocked at how much dust the Roomba collected just by getting into these hard to reach spots. We use it 2 or 3 times a week which seems to be enough to keep the house tidy, meaning we now only really need ...Read more
to use the Dyson to get to skirting boards or any particularly dirty spots. Interestingly, while it does a great job, it doesn't seem to be very 'intelligent', moving around in no real obvious pattern. Nonetheless, it eventually covers the house before returning to base. Only tip would be to do a visual inspection before setting the Roomba off, checking for any cables or objects Roomba may get trapped on.1 comment

I love my iRobot Roomba companion. It has great suction on carpet, lino, and our wood floor. Sometimes struggles with larger bits of rubbish which should be picked up manually anyway. Questions & Answers
Tony Buiasked
hi, I have IRobot Roomba 630. I've recently replaced the battery after that it only worked couples of time.
Then it suddenly said "charging error 1" when charging.
Can you please help me out with this issue, what does it means?
Regards
Tony
3 answers
Hi Tony, I would remove the battery and clean the internal contacts on the Robot as well as the battery terminals. Another potential issue could be the contacts on the charging unit and the robot, I would clean these also. Good luck
I already did them all but issue still
However when I borrow the battery from friend of mine, it’s working fine without issue.
I think there could be something wrong with my new battery. What do you reckon?
IXL H.iRobot
Hi Tony, charging error 1 indicates that your Roomba 630 is unable to detect the battery. This often occurs when using non-manufacturer approved replacement parts. Please visit our online store at https://www.irobot.com.au/ for purchase of official iRobot parts with guaranteed Roomba compatibility. If your product issue persists, please contact our customer service team on 1300 727 421 for further assistance.
Kind regards, iRobot
Pam V.asked
why does my rumba miss some of the rooms in my house now? it didn't use to. i clean filter and brushes every time i use it.
1 answer
IXL H.iRobot
Hi Pam,
Sorry to hear this. If your product is not speaking an error message, please try the following to resolve:
1. Reboot your product
2. Check your Roomba has sufficient battery to complete the room clean and return to the base. Your product may be too low on battery for this if the room is later in the cleaning cycle.
2. Ensure the room has adequate light for the robot to navigate. Dark rooms can be challenging for the iAdapt localization camera and can cause problems with navigation and coverage. Daylight or dim lighting is sufficient for Roomba to navigate effectively.
3. Wipe the clear window on the robot's top surface using a microfiber or soft cotton cloth that has been lightly dampened with water or a screen cleaning solution.
Please let us know if any of these steps resolved your question, or for further assistance contact our customer service team on 1300 727 421.
Kind regards, iRobot

My Roomba 630 keeps saying move to a new location and press the clean button. I moved it and press the clean button but it just keeps on repeating the message. I’ve tried holding the two buttons for 10sec to reset but it keeps going back to the message. It was working fine before and when the message came up I moved it and pressed clean and it went. I don’t know what’s changed. Can you help me?
