Brilliant Split System
My brother has recently retired - he was a TAFE trained Refrigeration & Installer of Air Conditioners.
He recommended the Mitsubishi Electric because they are reliable &'economical to run.
I got 6 Quotes 2 were recommended Mitsubishi Installers & 2 local Installers 1 thru Harvey Norman the other Installer was recommended by my Electrician that I have used for nearly 20 years.
I got written Quotes except the Mitsubishi preferred Installer told me to get all the Quotes & he will try & better the Quotes (I couldn't be bothered playing games I j...Read more
ust wanted Quotes .. The Quotes from the Retailers only involved plugging a llarge a/c into a power point !! He was cheaper by $500. The other Quotes were close...my Electrician told me never buy a large A/C & just plug into a power point like a Toaster or a Jug it is dangerous. I went with my electricians recommendation. Tony has been installing a/c for many years, he is fully licensed with an ABN. Compressor is outside on Balcomy with an Emergency Switch attached to wall. Wires run through roof to Power Board. My home is lovely & warm & will be wonderfully cool when the warm weather arrives. I have noticed a slight increase in power bill because I use the a/c a lot.

Cool Running
This air conditioner capably cools and heats our 90sqm 2 bedroom apartment.
It has a turbo mode that can very quickly heat or cool the 4mx11m living room.
It is very quiet even in turbo mode. The wifi remote control app is a great bonus, the air conditioner can be turned on as we turn into driveway.
Install was performed professionally and quickly for an extra $660

Brilliant!! Absolutely great!
My local AC company recommended Mitsubishi Electric over Daikin, Panasonic and Fujitsu. To their credit they never rubbished any of the other brands they just stated why they like Mitsubishi. All the reasons why are true! Quiet, efficient and so far reliable. Very happy and glad I went with Mitsubishi Electric!

!7 years and still going!! that's right, still cools and heats after all this time.Super quiet too, but recently i had to increase and decrease the temp selection on heat and cool by a few degrees..to get better heat and cooling. Its probally an indicator that it may be time to upgrade soon..Definitely purchase another!

Easy to use reverse cycle air conditioner
Purchased a Mitsubishi reverse cycle air conditioner recently. In both cool and heating modes the unit is very quiet. The handy remote control has a useful slide cover that prevents buttons from accidentally being clicked. The unit does provide heating/coiling fairly quickly..a few minutes. The only downside is that the remote display for cooling is a snowflake and for heating the sun symbol - and I find this a bit counter intuitive!

cannot fault this airconditioner. Does my entire house top and bottom.
I live in an upstairs downstairs, town house (two bedroom plus a study) and use this airconditner to heat/cool the entire house. I was a bit sceptical at first when the installer told me what it could do, but since I have had it installed and running, I cannot fault it in any way and to top off the good news, it is also extremely economical to run. I have recently got my last electricity bill and it was no higher than the previous quarter, when I did not have the unit installed. I also love the dehumidifying device that is built into it, and th...Read more
e fact it is so quiet to run. It also has an inbuilt warning device (flashing light) that tells you when the filter needs to be replaced and also when the batteries are running low in the remote control. Certainly not the cheapest split system on the market, but I believe one of the best Yes you will spend quite a bit of money installing it etc., but I believe the money spent is more than worth the initial costs. This product is actually saving me money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

comes with 5 year munufactors warranty - pretty impressed
We got this for our investment property in Brisbane. As you can imagine the aircon is on a lot and gets a good work out. this aircon had really good reviews but also came with the 5 year manufacturers warranty. This was the cherry for us as it gets used day and night and if anything happens in the next 5 years we are covered. So far no complaints and looks nice too.

Heating an open planned area!
Have had the Mitsubishi GL80VGD running in cold Tassie weather and have been impressed with the ability to warm a large area. The unit is heating an area of 66 m. sq. and when we use the long air option, it pushes the heat into an extended part of the house. Easy to use.

"Easiest to install" said my installer, and "easy and cheap to use" says I
We have a ducted system to heat and cool our home but it costs 6kwh = $1.50 an hour to use.
We installed this system to heat and cool the TV/Kitchen area and it costs 2kwh for the first hour and then $1kwh after that. 50c and 25c.
It is quiet, not intrusive and efficient. With electricity prices continuing to increase hoping early payback.

good a/c
Got it installed in the last summer and since then it's working as expected. Nothing much really stands out. Noise level is okay. Cool down the room really quick (note: It's only a 3*3m*m small bedroom)
The only thing I don't really like is the looking. It's not fashion, probably a bit ugly. But it is working fine.

Fantastic split system
I purchased this unit last Summer as my split system died and needed something to replace it with ASAP, I got this one for a reasonable price from Harvey Norman and I have not had a single issue with it. The heating and cooling functions are great and they don't use too much power, I have even recommended this to friends and family because it's just a fantastic unit. Highly recommended.

Best brand by far
We have 2 existing Panasonic reverse cycle units (2.5 in master & 9.0 in lounge)
The reviews here indicated Panasonic were the best
We ended up buying 2x 2.5kw units from Harvey Norman as the units were smaller to fit into the bedrooms than Panasonic. We bargained down $100 per unit off RRP (down to $799 each). Now I have a direct comparison between Panasonic & Mitsubishi Electric, hands down Mitsubishi is much much better in all aspects
Noticeable difference would be the power the unit pump down on hot days, honestly felt like my 9.0 unit downstairs the sheer thrust. Best part they are super quiet and installation is easy (back to back install).
Couldnt recommend more!

Best Air Conditioner I've had.
I purchased the unit last Winter and had it installed in late Spring. One problem was that where we wanted the indoor unit there was nowhere to put the outdoor unit so it had to go on the other side of the house. This did increase the installation cost a bit with 30 metres of copper pipe and insulation plus 4mm power cable due to voltage loss if we'd used 2.5mm cable. It uses the latest "greener" more efficient R32 refrigerant as well as smaller diameter piping for greater efficiency. Even with the distance from the indoor to outdoor units ther...Read more
e was no requirement for extra refrigerant. The outdoor unit also has blue fin coating which is corrosion resistant & as we live right on the coast and get a lot of salt air this is a great feature. The indoor unit is very quiet as is the outdoor unit. I have only tested the heating mode to make sure it works but the cooling mode works very well. We had one day when the outside temperature was 43 degrees and I have the unit set to 24 degrees which it maintained easily. Some air conditioners have complicated remotes with a whole raft of features most people will never use. The remote is simple & easy to use & you don't have to point it directly at the unit. The useful features from my perspective are the wide and long air throw functions and the iSave function which I keep as the standard setting & if I decide to change any setting I just have to press this button & it returns to standard. I don't use the timers or a special vane settings but do use econo-cool to save energy once the whole living area has reached the desired temperature. You can also get a card installed and it can be controlled over WiFi from a phone & can be turned on remotely so the house is cool when you get home. Even though there are over 15 metres of insulated piping it is cooling within 1 minute of turning it on. I selected this unit on the basis of previous experience with Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners, discussions with people & installers, checking reviews and price. I narrowed my choice to similar sized Panasonic, Daikin, Kelvinator & LG models & in the end got a great deal from a large retailer after quoting the cheapest deal I could get on line. It has a 5 year warranty but so do most other reputable brands with some offering an additional 2 years but given my bedroom Mitsubishi is now 12 years old and has never missed a beat I don't think I am likely to need it. We have solar panels on the roof & as the unit is is an inverter the power consumption drops right away once the house is cooled down. It is in fact best to turn it on early in the day as it is more efficient to maintain the temperature than to cool it down when it is hot. My power bill for the 3 months over Summer increased only $60.00 or about 67 cents per day and the unit was on most days and sometimes all night. The bedroom unit and the fridge and upright freezer etc also are included in the additional cost which makes the energy cost of the new air conditioner minimal. Overall 5 stars and highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Absolute Lifesaver!
What a great unit! - Initially we installed it for heating last winter as we had moved to a new place where the only option was electric heaters and with open plan living they are not all that effective. We have had Mitsubishi airconditioners in the past and they have been trouble free and very reliable so it was a foregone conclusion to choose a Mitsubishi model again. The remote is clear and easy to use with automatic time settings and the position of vanes is controlled by remote as well. The installer, who we have used before, tells us ...Read more
that he has minimal callouts to Mitsubishi units compared to other brands which is very encouraging. This 6.0kW model heats a very large kitchen, dining, living area very quickly and efficiently but during the past summer here on the mid north coast of NSW it really did save us from drooping in the high humidity and extreme heat and it never missed a beat. It is also very quiet both inside and out as you hardly know it's running and we found that setting it on the dehumidifier mode or 'dewdrop' as we call it, the room was pleasantly cool and the atmosphere very comfortable even when extremely hot outside. We are now about to have a smaller Mitsubishi unit installed in the main bedroom in addition to the overhead fan and ready for those hot, humid nights next summer. So, if you're trying to decide which brand to buy, go with the best and get a Mitsubishi, they may be a little pricier but you won't regret it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very quiet with good air flow
We had this installed in February right as the weather cooled down to bearable temperatures so haven't used it on a really hot day yet.
It has made a nice difference to the comfort of our living area on a few warmer days so far though.
Both the indoor and outdoor units are super quiet and the airflow indoors is good. The horizontal air direction is manually adjusted through 2 vanes on this size unit but I really wouldn't change the direction anyway as it provides good coverage of the room. The vane has the vertical sweep mode to direct air ...Read more

Working well as expected
I purchased this Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner for the lounge area back in October 2016 from Stan Cash online store. The Mitsubishi electric is quiet but powerful and reliable. It has done well in the summer heat here in Queensland. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an air conditioner.

Top performer, excellent temperature control
Our 11 year old Panasonic AC died 2 weeks before Christmas and needed a replacement.
The Mitsubishi GL series with the new super performance gas was recommended by the installer.
During this extended heat wave here in Brisbane Queensland this new AC has out performed the old Panasonic by a mile! Running all day, every day for weeks.
It cools a large area including lounge, dinning and kitchen with ease and maintains the selected temperature very well. The old Panasonic used to require changing the setting all the time because it would get...Read more
too cold then too hot. The Mitsubishi you just set to a selected temperature and forget. The auto vane settings is very intelligent and works to ensure the WHOLE room feels right. The Powerful Mode is fantastic to use when you first fire the unit up. It runs the fans high mode with vanes up to push the cooled air all over the room to get the whole area feeling nice quickly and then after 10-15 mins it reverts to normal mode automatically. Dead easy to use. The indoor unit is extremely quiet and is within metres of our heads when watching TV or listening to music and yet never notice any noise from it. Never notice the outside unit making any noise either.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very cool ac
The electrician switched the air conditioner on after installation and its working perfectly since. I come home from work to a hot shut up house and in a short time I'm sitting watching TV in a cool lounge room. We bought the Mitsubishi for its reputation, reliability and value. You can't go wrong.

Buyer Beware if you've got a hot fibro house!!!
I purchased a 7.8kW unit thinking, on the advice of the qualified private installer, that this kW size was a precautionary 'over-kill' as our house is a 50's fibro with big windows both north and west, flat roof, poorly insulated and it was to service a small room - 42m2 which includes a dividing sun room and kitchen (i.e. not a perfect square room).
The installer, who appeared to be giving his best shot and made every attempt to offer helpful advice, said that a room of this size would normally necessitate a 5-6kW unit but as the house get...Read more
s so hot, installing a heavy duty unit such as this would take care of the heat. We discovered that on a 42 degree day, the unit would only cool the room to 27 degrees minimum (not a comfortable 23 degrees). On checking with Mitsubishi, who conducted a thorough assessment, I was advised that all qualified installers (ours was) should conduct the standard industry 'ARIMA Heat Load' calculation prior to advising customers of their kW requirements. This calculation takes into account details such as insulation, direction of the house/windows, roof type etc., in order to accurately make the assessment. The calculation was not conducted by our installer and as laymen consumers, we had no idea of this requirement otherwise would have insisted on it. End result is that we paid just under $3000 for the unit and installation and we sweat in the room at 27 degrees on a 42 degree day. The purpose of purchasing a highly recommended brand was to ensure that my family stay cool in the unbearable heat. Mission not accomplished due to (i) Mitsubishi's recommendations (or any other company's) to installers not being adhered to but replaced with 'rule of thumb' in terms of assessment, (ii) no warning on the box and (iii) no regulations in place to protect the consumer. After Mitsubishi's assessment, I was told the room required a 16kW air conditioner (which they don't have) so they recommended I install a second 7.8kW unit in the sunroom section of the same room or install ducted air conditioning. Both of these recommendations are not an option. Unbelievably disappointing is my thought on the entire subject. On a brighter note, the unit cools well on a 30 degree day to 23 degrees, it's quiet except on full fan, settings a little complex to redirect the air flow which we still haven't mastered and Mitsubishi had no hesitation in sending out the 'big guns' to investigate my complaint. If your house sounds like ours, I cannot recommend the unit for extreme heat. For anyone else reading this, ensure you have an ARIMA Heat Load calculation performed on your house before purchasing an air conditioner!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
