Didn't liked this. Highly unsatisfied. Don't buy flat bed models unless you test
I bought this oven 3 months ago by seeing it's marketing terms like flat bed, inverter etc which i regret now. I should have gone with other oven in its price range which has a rotating plate. The reason why i say is, this flat bed model never warms the food evenly. The basic difference between a flat bed and the rotating one is the placement of the Magnetron. For flat beds, it will be at the bottom and the others have at one side. This flat bed model Panasonic claims that doesn't need a rotation as other do. This is wrong. Since the magnetron ...Read more
is at the bottom, the food will be heated from bottom up and this leaves items at the top at lower temperature. I placed a single fish slice to heat, it heats up in 30 sec, no problem at all but if you place 4 or 5 fish slices one above the other and heat it for 2 mins, you see the bottom one got roasted and the top one is at room temperature or even cooler. This is a terrible piece of testing they did before releasing it to market. Just to showcase that they are first to introduce the flat beds in a price range they released it without testing it. A $50 microwave do a better heating than this. I believed Panasonic as a innovator from my childhood and i bought this oven only because of that reason and they made me feel bad. I disappointed a lot by this product and want to return this and buy a rotating base model.

Great oven
Bought this a couple of months ago and works really well. I wasn't big on cooking things in the microwave previously but I find the setting are easy to use so I am doing more of that now. A real time saver at the end of a long day.
I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing one.

Hot and cold
I love the flatbed for cleaning and fitting in large containers, but like the previous writer, found it very variable. I can put two frozen pies in it and one will be steaming hot and the other still frozen, if I don't move them around and rotate them myself. We were assured that heating would be even, but it ISN'T. Not at all!! I'd rather have a carousel on balance. Definitely.

So far so good
Just bought this microwave as I really wanted a flatbed and they are hard to find.
So far it has been good, no problems as yet but it has only been 4 weeks and all we have done in it is heating up food and defrosting. I don't use it for cooking.
I love the flatbed as you can place slightly larger dishes in it compared to a turntable, has a nice interior surface very easy to clean, It is not as noisy as some and does not beep constantly when it has finished, as i said so far so good,
If it starts to play up I will update my review.

Excellent Microwave
I have had this oven now for a month and everything works well. I have never used a flat bed one before and I love it! Large space that fits bigger plates or dishes and I find that the food heats evenly especially from frozen compared to my last turntable microwave.

Good microwave with unique features
Got this model to replace my older Panasonic Genius microwave.
The flatbed option was one of the reasons i got this microwave, as it means not needing to take out the turn table to clean/wipe down, and also you can put in more stuff, although there are times where food might not be equally warmed up, but these are some of the trade offs you get i guess.
The inside of the microwave has a marbled look which is pretty nice, and it does look pretty nice generally. Settings were easy to use, there is Turbo defrost which really saves you the ti...Read more
me, all you need to do is to key in the weight and press start and just wait for it to defrost. 500 grams of pork takes about 7.5 minutes to defrost, which is very good, especially when you've got to cook dinner for the family and forgot to defrost the meat. This really saves you time. Probably has additional functions, like reheating of food/noodles/bread, which saves you the time of needing to trail and error. It's not loud, but probably around the same as any other microwave oven. It comes with a manual/cookbook, which is pretty cool as it shows you the stuff you can make with it. Good built, and i am pretty happy with it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We're throwing ours away after just 6 weeks!
We thought Panasonic was a good name. It isn't. This microwave is very poor in so many ways.
The Good: It doesn't have a carousel, making cleaning easy.
The Bad: It doesn't have a carousel which means the food comes out hot in one spot and still frozen in another. In order to evenly heat the food, you have to stop it at a few points in the cycle to move the food around. It has a very very weak interior light. It's virtually useless. The instruction book is almost impossible to understand. The controls are unnecessarily complicated and a...Read more
lso difficult to understand. The many preprogramed settings simply don't work...at all! The power settings are not labelled and difficult to set properly. The heating of the food can be different from one use to the next despite using exactly the same settings. The construction feels poor quality. Even our ultra cheap LG that we use at work to heat frozen meals is vastly superior to this machine. We've used the appliance for over a month now and have found it so frustrating, that we've decided to throw it away and buy something else. Bad job Panasonic - I don't recommend this to anyone.1 comment

Worst Microwave We've Ever Used
Do not buy this. It has no carousel which sounds good - but isn't.
The food does not get heated evenly. If you're heating up a frozen meal, you have to divide the time into three or more, and move the food around in between each session to get even heating. Even then, it still can have frozen spots.
It has "inverter technology" but nowhere does it explain what that is. I still don't know.
The controls are not intuitive. I defy anyone to (a) understand them and (b) remember them.
The interior light is so feeble, that it's useless. So is the LED readout.

Quiet and well made
Bought this as a replacement for my awful Breville microwave. This is the no-turntable model and it is extremely quiet and seems to cook very evenly despite not having a rotating plate. The timer and controls are very intuitive and I can warm up something with 2 button presses.
Nicely and solidly built and very easy to clean...if it's half as good and lasts as long as my previous 20 year old Panasonic I'll be extremely happy.

A marvellous machine!
I love this machine for many reasons - mostly because it doesn't have a rotating plate.
It's easy to use with simple instructions & quiet! Due to its weight it doesn't move around & all shape containers fit.
The price is reasonable for a late model microwave without a turntable & I'd have probably paid more!

amazing product. easy to operate.
I like this micro wave because it does not have that rotating disk. it simply does not require one. It is heavy but I like it because it does not move easily which is desirable.
it does not make too much noise and it is very easy to clean and easy to operate.

Great Microwave - mid-size but with large space inside
I purchased this microwave a few months ago from Harvey Norman with the most appealing aspect being the lack of a turntable and sizeable interior space. It's been used constantly for heating up items, including breakfast porridge to frozen dinners and I've been surprised how good it works. I've read a few reviews of other similar non-turntable Panasonic microwaves and seen the very negative slant with these, but thankfully they seem to have fixed many problems with this model (the white and the sister chrome model NN-SF574S).

nclude the mid sized frame with 27L cavity volume, but as there is no turntable you can place items up to the edges and therefore have more usable space than larger volume microwaves (there's no need to worry about handles catching the sides as is the case with turntable models). It's still a microwave so it cooks from the outside in, so you'll still need to adjust or rotate food whilst cooking for consistency or if you have several items inside (just like a regular microwave) but I have found this model less likely to burn the edges of food when reheating or cooking. Cleaning can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. It is easy to wipe out and there's no turntable to knock into, but then conversely you can't just take out a turntable to clean it. My old sharp microwave had a glass turntable and I could clean it in the sink or put it in the dishwasher, but with the Panasonic you have to wipe it out so try to get to food spills before they turn crusty. Negatives include the display LED panel is quite dim. It's easy to see if you're close up, but more then a few metres it becomes unreadable, this doesn't bother me so much but I could see this being a problem for some people. The COOLING function, again this doesn't bother me, but I've read many reviews regarding Panasonic microwaves and this comes up constantly. Unusually the operating manual barely mentions it but the Panasonic web site states: "The word COOL is displayed when the microwave goes into a cooling cycle. The cool cycle is a feature that ensures the operating components of the microwave (Inverter and Magnetron) are cooled after operation by running the fan inside the microwave." In effect, if you've finished cooking/heating something (for more than 3 minutes total or run the microwave twice within 10 minutes) after the beeps indicate the food is finished, the fan or hum keeps going and it displays COOL. It sounds just like it's operating/cooking but it is no longer producing microwaves inside. This operation doesn't bother me as it's no more noisier than when it's operating; only lasts around 30 seconds; and supposedly is helping cool the electronics, which has to be a good thing right?? Anyway to wrap it up, I'm impressed with the cooking/heating function and the operation being that it is a 1000W machine and works on par with a 1100W. It tends not to burn the edges of food and cooks through well. Makes no more noise than any other microwave I've owned and has a large usable interior space. It's easy to clean and looks stylish as well. I'm very happy with the machine and would buy another like it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it.
This is the inverter model and I wasn't quite sure at first, having the flat bed with no carousel seemed a little strange, but it allows me to use a larger dish without having to allow for the rotation. So far I have not had any problems apart from the need to cool after being used for a few minutes this is a little annoying hence the reason for the 4 stars. Overall a good product.

Just what I was looking for
I bought this microwave 6 months ago from "The Good Guys". The biggest drawcard was the flatbed technology (= no round turn table). The flat base makes it possible to use large square and rectangle shaped dishes (which always bumped the edges with the round turn table microwaves). With 1000 watt it has a decent amount of power. It's also got a lot of other features I haven't used yet.

Big Space & easy to clean
Bought this from appliancesonline and used for nearly 1 month. Because of no rotating plate the internal space is bigger. It is easy to clean. Compare with my old Sharp microwaves this one appears a big slower.

Doug F.asked
Hi team, good so far but appears noisy with apparently fewer moving parts than the turntable style. So what is the source of the noise? Just curious!

Panasonic Australia C.Panasonic
Hi Doug, sorry difficult question, could be the fan, the unit running or any other noise.

My NN-SF564W doesn't always start. Once started it works just fine, but getting it to go is tricky. Put in the time, press start, nothing. Put in the time, press start, nothing. Suddenly it says COOLING on the display. I press reset, then the time, start, nothing. Do variations on this theme and presto! It goes. Any help?
