Why didn't you rectify the problems as they occurred, I will never understand that. Katty1 specifically addressed that over and over again throughout the build but Rendition homes didn't step up at all during that time ? That is not good management. No point saying we are now looking at it as I believe she sent all the problems through the right channels.

Hi i would like to know when your company is going to be fixing my fence that they 'accidentally' knocked down. Its been months abd the useless site supervisor hasnt updated me at all despite my patience through this inconvenience. He has my number & ignores all communication. I have 4 kids 3 are non-verbal autistic & run & i also have 2 dogs. I had to harass the supervisor when the doggy fence was initially put up as my kids & dog could easily escape underneath it, they cane out said it was fixed & it was still not done correctly & was unsafe. I was told my fence would be fixed in a few days, its been Over 2 months, not good enough. If im not contacted about this matter asap i wont hesitate to go to Today Tonight or my local PM.
Thanks

Has anyone cancelled a building contract? Can you please share your experience during this time? E.g customer service, charges etc. Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Just decided not to throw out paperwork leading to cancellation of contract to build with Rendition in 2011.
It represents 5 months wasted time and loss of $3000 deposit. Although it was a nightmare I don’t want to forget it as I want to be sure I never sign a contract again based on a lying salespersons word that it will be resolved during the process. I am ashamed I signed it as I was a contract specialist (albeit ill at the time). They lie and their business is unreliable. It seems others have also had my bad experience while some have been satisfied. DON’T risk it. If the specs and price are not clear and firm in writing do not sign with Rendition Homes.

I really want to cancel the contract. Did you cancelled the contract, please let me know. they are useless and horrible. they are disrespectful and too bad.

Not building with them now and would not in the future. Read the reviews and take note of the negative comments, there are positives too.

Communication has been poor and it has been 11 months of working with them and they still have not applied for council approval. Very slow and will not contact us when there are delays. Be aware they will verbally state the allowances made are maximum. They are not and verbal discussion means nothing, they willrefer to it all as estimated allowances which can increase.

Incredibly slow. Nearing 20 months and house is still far from completed. Days leading in to weeks in a row where site is unattended. Always blaming other things for delays despite surrounding houses with other building companies having no such issues (I.e. council approvals, weather, time frames, contractors). Ask for updates and get told of things being booked only for those dates to pass with no action.

Can’t comment on quality of home at this stage as not enough of it has been completed to get a good indication.

Hi I'm from Adelaide, we have had nothing but problems with Rendition Homes and would never recommend them. Beware and make sure you read all the fine print in your contract as that is what they will always refer too. A year almost past and we still hadn't had accurate plans drawn and no where near lodging to council. We have now terminated our contract and had to pay a sum of money, this was done February 2018. My advice is to always keep in mind you are legally bound to that contract once you sign BE AWARE. I hope this helps you with your decision, good luck .

Who has built with rendition homes and did they charge you for the electrical meter installation or was it included in the contract? As the contract can be interpreted 2 different ways.

Hi. Sorry for delayed response. Power connection which included meter instalation and connection on Stobie pole done by SA Power networks and is your cost. I had 3 phase connected and cost me just under $1000.

Has anyone previously built with Affordable Family Homes (owned by Rendtition) we have signed preliminary schedule with them but are totally confused - thought we were signing with Rendition. They tell us same trades etc and finish but we are struggling to understand if its all the same then why Rendition have 2 different building companies... Any advice?

Hi I am currently building with Rendition Homes. We provided our own plans that they have made a reality. My understanding is that Affordable Family Homes is different to Rendition in that they have plans that you can use like a lot of other builders do. Rendition itself is more a custom build rather than off existing plans drawn up to chose from. Our experience so far has been very good ( we are 7 weeks away from finishing). You will find many companies have several different arms of the company and Rendition is no different. They are the same company so I wouldnt be worried. Some of our trades have been working on Affordable Family homes so I do know that is a correct statement from them. Hope that helps

We had the same dilemma. We never really got an answer, for us it would have cost $ so we continued the process. We never received what we were promised initially and this is because we did not build with Rendition but another entity....Read the reviews, they all say the same things.....

We are in the process of choosing a builder and have spoken with Rendition. I have felt they have been honest and up front in our discussions. They have been very thorough in explaining the processes and are one of a few builders who allow the customer to use your choice of trades instead of theirs if you prefer or take out something from the standard inclusion and replace it with something of your choice.( a credit would be made) I would like to hear some more feedback from people who have had positive dealings with Rendition. Surely it can't all be bad.

You should ask them how much to use your own tradies?. We were told the same thing, only to find out months down the track, that there would be a fee of $480.00 per different trade, if using our own tradies .EG . our own tiler, the fee applies, our own air-cond people the fee applies .Each different trade you add another fee of $480.00 and we were not made aware of this until we had signed the full contract months down the line. Tried to pursue this matter and like the other comments from other reviews we were stone -walled. Sorry we could"nt give you any good news, but at least it is honest.Rendition homes would never build with them again .At least not while [Name Removed] is the owner.

What they say and what they do are 2 very different things,no trust what so ever.

I thought our discussions were open and honest too. Biggest mistake ever was signing a contract. That's where the honesty stopped. Check your contract has the things they offer on the website as we're having trouble with getting what we're entitled too. Next battle will be agreeing to the build time. Contract doesn't match advertised time frame. Very unhappy.
