i have a Rinnai Granada mk11 what size is the hose connection 3/8 or1/2?
4 answers
It's the standard Australian bayonet socket. Go to any retailer like Bing Lee and you can see them on any gas heater.
I know the bayonet end, its the brass nut connection to the heater. Don't know if it is a 3/8 or 1/2 " female nut. Could you please advise me to suit my Rinnai Granada MK 11. Thanks

Hi Laine,
Thank you for your question.
The connection of the hose to heater is 3/8.

I have a Rinnai Gas Heater MKII Granada. It stops in a few minutes. It has been ok for the last 2-3 years. I have cleaned the front frame panels. I cannot find any filter. I would be grateful if you could help me out. It is getting cold.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the question Yang, if the heater has not been serviced recently, this may be needed to rectify the issue you are facing. We recommend all gas appliances are serviced every 2 years for optimum safety and efficiency.
The oxygen sensor probably needs to be serviced. That's a safety feature.

i have a Granada 252 reh uc..it says natural gas only on the unit.can it be used with lpg gas as on the website ot says both?
1 answer
Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thanks for the question des f. The Granada heater can be purchased for use on both Natural Gas and LPG but not both at the same time.
If you have a natural gas only unit you can purchase a conversion kit to run the heater on LPG. A licensed gas plumber will be required to install the kit.

I have a Rinnai Granada MK II REH 252UC and am wondering if this unit is safe to use after reading about the Victorian recall. Could you also let me know how old this unit would be? I can't see that you mention this model on this page.
Please advise

Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thank you for your question eva. The REH 252 UC Granada is a portable non-flued heater and is not associated with the Victorian recall. Rinnai products are not included in this recall. The date of manufacture of this unit can be found on the data plate. If any further information is required on this unit, please refer to the Rinnai website www.rinnai.com.au option heaters, option portable heaters.

I always thought these heaters needed to be operated with the fan on. I thought I was told that when I first bought it years ago. I see here people are running the heater without. Is this ok?
2 answers
Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thanks for the question Julie R. With this particular model of heater it is possible to run the heater without having the fan running. In this case you will only be getting the radiant heat from the unit, running the fan allows you to spread the heat throughout the room.
i run it with fan on on high or low etc
Scotty Dasked

Sharonasked
Hi I purchased the Rinnai Granada Mk11 25mj 12 months ago. When I turn the heater on at the lowest setting it ignites but does not stay lit. Any suggestions as to why this might be. Also how long is the warranty. ? Thanks
2 answers
Hi Sharon, I know ours needs you to hold the button down for about 10 seconds once the flame is lit to keep it going, but then it’s fine, so not sure if you’ve tried that already. Jackie
Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thanks for the question Sharon, as the previous member has suggested you do need to hold down the button for up to 15 seconds after ignition to ensure the heater has sensed the heater is lit. If it is taking longer than this to light, the heater may require a service call.

Seanasked
Hi I have the propane model 252. Can I get a new fitting and plug it directly into a portable gas bottle. Like a bbq bottle. Our new home doesn’t have the gas connection on the wall. ?
1 answer
Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thanks for the question Sean, Just as you cannot operate a gas BBQ or a patio heater with a cylinder attached inside a room or enclosure, you cannot operate a portable heater inside the same room as the cylinder.
The results will be catastrophic! High risk of explosion!
If you are located outside of Victoria you can have a bayonet socket, gas piping and cylinder installed (outside).
kizasked
I am looking to buy a gas heater second hand - its a Rinnai Natural Gas Heater Granada 252. Can I use that plugged into floor bayonet connected to LPG - gasbottle?
2 answers
Yes you can, we did that initially and it works well
Rinnai A.Rinnai
Thanks for the question Kiz, if the unit you are purchasing is a natural gas unit it can only be used with natural gas. You can purchase a conversion kit for the unit which would need to be fitted by a qualified gas plumber.
