DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!
I booked my car to be transported from Melbourne to Perth, it was picked up on the 5th of Feb with no drama at all.
I was told transport would be between 7-10 working days, that was an outright LIE. I kept emailing and phoning for updates and I kept getting told my car hadn't left Melbourne, mine you it had been around 2 weeks at this time. I was quite concerned. Don't Even Bother..Warning Warning Warning Warning.
I used this awful company to transport my almost brand new and immaculate car from Darwin to Melbourne. When the car eventually arrived...(Eventually being the key word here) it was damaged in various places. I have called, emailed, called, called, e mailed and received nil response. numerous messages for the manager that never returns my calls or the other staff who never pass on the messages. Job number 318450And typical, as I said, no response. Same as Fair Trading got with you guys. Now in the process of going to court. Before and after pictures do not lie.

Damaged Car, Not Responsive to Complaint, Ridiculous Service!
My boyfriend arranged to have his car transported from Perth to Brisbane via SMB. The whole reason he wanted to use this service was to avoid damaging his car doing the long drive across. In the end it would've been better just driving the car. The car arrived in Brisbane with oil spilt all over the front, parts of the car broken, duct tape all over the car causing scratches and damage to the paintwork, plus they let the air out of his tyres and left the lights on so the car arrived in Brisbane with a flat battery and he had to waste hours tryi...Read more
ng to even get out of the depot in Brisbane. We have been trying for over a week to have this complaint resolved by SMB, but now they have our money nobody wants to assist us. After multiple emails and countless phone calls all we keep being told is that they haven't received our photos and to try again. Their service is shocking, they have no regard for people's time or respect for their property and I would never recommend using this service. I have given them 24 hours to respond to my latest email or I will be making a formal complaint to the ACCC for compensation for damages and time wasted.5 comments

Damaged Car, Terrible Service
My car was transported from Perth to Sydney through SMB Australia, upon receiving the car, after watching it roughly be being taken off the truck, I started it to find that the exhaust pipe had been damaged. I have tried for over a month to resolve this issue and fix my car's exhaust pipe, only to have numerous emails not replied to, phone calls not returned and every excuse possible as to why I couldn't speak to any consultants dealing with my case. Stolen Item & damaged car
Upon assessment of my car in Perth, there were no scratches. I paid for "goods in car" service cost about 250 extra. I packed all my clothes, shoes, TV and designer handbags in the car as smb advertises "50 years of trust & services" and so I did. Upon receiving my car in melbourne laverton, I had found new scratches to my car as well as missing items. I reported it straight away and was told to email their support within 24hours. s well as the consignment docket which indicated no scratch from their assessor. I was told someone from support would contact me after the Easter long weekend, no one did so I called the first time at 11:39am, was told an email is being sent to me as we speak. I called again at 4:39pm as I have not yet received the email. Again I was told they are sending me an email as we speak. I recieve the email at 5:49pm telling me that they were not responsible for the scratches as well as the missing item. Also I had to pay 800 excess for the scratches???. So pretty much I got told to trust their service and pay extra for "goods in car" so that they can rob me??? (I PAID EXTRA FOR SMB TO STEAL MY THINGS??) Thank goodness I hid the box that had all my designer handbags at the very bottom of my boot. I am going to be honest, the stolen item didn't hold a great value HOWEVER its principles. All I know is SMB is guilty of theft and caused damages to my vehicle and looks like they are not taking responsibility. All I want is an apology and ownership for theft, I dont even care about the petty item and be compensated for the scratches they have made to my car. I suggest SMB take the "50 years of trust and services" off their website as this is misleading. I was quoted 10-14 days to get our car from Sydney to Adelaide. Contacted SMB 7 days in to see when it would be arriving was told it was leaving Sydney tomorrow. After 3 days I contacted them again as I hadn’t heard anything. I was told it hadn’t left but would be leaving tonight. This went on for another 10 days. The car finally arrived 2 weeks late and we had to hire a 4wd for a holiday that we had booked for our new vehicle. To make things worse, when it arrived the spare key was missing. Over 2 months of constantly calling to find out where my spare key was, SMB finally agreed to pay for the replacement of it. But I had to organise this service. The only positive was the car wasn’t damaged when it got here.

Still waiting for car 33 days later.
They quoted me 16-20 days to transport my car from Melbourne to Darwin. I have been waiting 33 days and my car is still not here. I have contacted many times however, they change the delivery date every time I speak to them. The office people I spoke to were rude and offered no apology or empathy. I contacted the depot that my car is supposed to be delivered to, they informed me this company is not a good company and they have transported the wrong car all the way to Darwin on 2 different occasions. After all this I still am unaware of when my car will be delivered and have not been offered a refund or apology. Do not go with this company!

Moved my car from Melbourne to Brisbane in 8 days
SMB helped me to move my car from Melbourne depot to Brisbane in a very reasonable time. I dropped off the car in Melbourne 8th Feb and it was ready for collection in Brisbane on 16th. There where no damage to the car or any other surprises. However, I would suggest that you could improve 2 things: 1) In both Melbourne/Brisbane depot it's really hard to locate your office unless you ask someone. Big "SMB Transport" signs will help a lot. 2) I didn't get any updates where my car is until I emailed your first on 16th. Regular email updates will be appreciated.

Would never use service again
Sent my car over on January 24th from Sydney to Perth. Was told 15-20 business days. Called two weeks into this given time frame and was told it would arrive by Feb 21st. Called on Feb 19th- no answer for the whole day. Called on Feb 20th- was told that my car would be arriving March 7th and that the car hasn’t even left Sydney due to “back log”. Was NEVER even notified of the change in date which is absolutely ridiculous as I had called 2 weeks ago and they could have told me that this delay was expected. When I called in to track the progress of my car- was told my car would be sent out to me earliest 12th March because local trucks dont run on weekends to deliver the car to my residential address. That is 7 weeks of not having a car- 3 weeks longer than the quoted time. absolutely disgusting. Please just pay the extra money to get your car delivered with another company as it is not worth the extra money spent on rentals/the time invested calling and trying to get an answer from them. I had no issue at all with the transport of my Hyundai IX35. I packed my car full of stuff from Sydney to Perth. Took approx 4 weeks as expected! I got accurate information every time I called to check up on the ETA.

Pleasantly surprised, will use again!
Cheapest quote out of nine. Called on Monday, car delivered from Melbourne to Sydney on Wednesday morning, less than 48 hours. No damage, not even a scratch. Polite and friendly service. I am very happy. I recommend them and will tell everyone, hence my presence here.

Terrible service - communication poor, once they have your money not interested.
The initial contact was from a company called Trade Car Transport who received the payment. The car was picked up from Sydney 4 days later. 17 days later I sent off an email as I had heard nothing. The company does not insure transportation so this was a concern. I received a response 18 days after payment from a company called SMB Australia to say the truck had mechanical problems so delivery would be delayed. This was because I had been told I would have to pay storage if it couldn't be picked up. 25 days after initial payment the car arrived but I was told the car could not be delivered because my additional payment 5 days previously had not been received even though I sent through a receipt number and paid money into the account on the invoice. Eventually the payment was found and the car was delivered. The people in Sydney were ignorant, rude with a couldn't care less attitude. The people in Perth were completely different and good to deal with. Having said that, I would never transport a car with either company again. The car sat in a car yard for weeks on end before it was transported and there is no insurance, hence no one cares what happens to your motor vehicle.1 comment

Excellent service experience
Very happy with the SMB service. Quick follow up on queries, via email and phone. Transporting my vehicles from Adelaide to Brisbane I received them the same week I sent them. Can't ask for more than that. Prices were competitive, and service was outstanding.

Has taken 4 WEEKS and i still haven't got my car, was being delivered from Sydney to Broken Hill DO
Bought my car 4 weeks ago, they used this service to deliver it to me now coming up on 1 MONTH, this is unacceptable i was told the maximum amount of time it would take would be 5 DAYS not 1 month. about a week ago i rang to see what was going on and was told that it would be delivered 4 days from now, only to ring up again today (when i meant to receive it) and be told that i would have to wait another 5 DAYS. Do not recommend this service at all.

ised to the dealership on booking. This vehicle was booked in 20/11, collected 22/11 and was delivered yesterday the 11/12. That is 14 working days from collection. From the time you 'bought' the car to the time we the transporter are booked in/allowed to collect the vehicle from the seller/dealer does not count as transport time. This booking did not take a 'month' to transport as your review states, neither did our company quote that transport is 5 working days from Goulburn to Broken Hill. Takes too long and no contact
7 days so far from Syd to Melb and still haven’t received my car. No one has contacted me and I’ve had to follow up multiple times to find out what’s going on. SMB still can’t give me a date as the truck driver is apparently away. Meanwhile I’m paying rental fees whilst I wait.

I had the same problem. They don't care at all.
They promised to deliver in 10 business days. The car was delivered almost a month after it was dropped off.
I couldn't do anything as well. Just kept calling to them...
