Trying to get travel insurance
Tried multiple times ( ie 9 times) to get travel insurance, each time the web site told me it had timed out ( even though I rushed through the filling out of forms in the end)
I haven’t had a problem in the past...but now I have to look for another insurance agent!

Perfect cover for our trip, good value
Although we have used Southern Cross Travel Insurance a number of time we have been fortunate and have not had to make a claim. We have always been kept up to date with happenings in the travelling world and feel sure that if we did have to claim we would be looked after by the team

Insurance means no worries
I'm Lucky for not having any claim which means my trip was successful and has no issues or problems. Reading the other people comments, make me feel that I picked the right one.

Great service and claims process
After an unexpected death in the family, we had to adjust our flights and incurred a cost to do so. The SCTI team were very helpful and understanding, and the claim process was very simple.

Fantastic Service
SCTI were extremely helpful when my flights were cancelled the night before departing for my trip, I contacted them regarding booking new flights and they were helpful in checking my policy. The claim process was straight forward and prompt. I will definitely be taking out future policies with SCTI again.

Woeful Service
I took out travel insurance with Southern Cross Travel Insurance, for my trip to Europe. On the 11th November, I had a fall in Athens. SCTI were contacted almost straight away. I had some very kind emails asking how I was. 3 days after the fall, I felt it necessary to call an English speaking doctor to my hotel. He diagnosed a grade two sprain of my ankle and serious swelling. He prescribed some anti inflammatories for me. Exceptional service
Used Southern Cross for our travel insurance several times. Last year had to claim when a fall resulting in a cracked rib made a hospital visit necessary. Our claim for medical expenses was settled easily and quickly. Unfortunately a cruise booked several months ago had to be cancelled recently due to a medical problem. After submitting relevant documents our claim was settled speedily and efficiently. This company is certainly to be recommended and we will never consider another company for our future travel insurance requirements. Their premiums are excellent value and website easy to negotiate when setting up.

Outstanding.
Took out a policy with SCTI following a heap of research. The policy was to cover an extended trip to North America. The coverage offered by SCTI was second to none (I read many PDS' to come to that conclusion). Unfortunately, we lost a camera towards the end of our trip. We claimed through SCTI who honored the claim. There was a slight delay in processing the claim as it was put in over the holiday period. The claim was as simple as filling in an online claim form and submitting some supporting documents. Without a doubt will use again.

Don’t bother with the other companies......
Southern Cross have been our insurer for many years and we have always been treated well by them.
We’ve had previous claims that have always been settled.
This year we didn’t even make it out of the country as we had to cancel, and we got all our pre-paid holiday expenses back (except for the excess).
They are easy to talk with, always available and always keep you up to date with the progress of your claim.
We have recommended Southern Cross to many friends and have no hesitation in using them again.
Keep up the good work, why would you go anywhere else?

A company that doest fail you.
Second time I chose to use that company for my travels.This time I had to make a claim in regards to my iPhone 8 that got stolen or lost. My claim was settled quickly and efficiently in the most positive way I couldnt be happier.

Wonderful service
We had to cancel our holiday due to the typhoon and Southern Cross rapidly assessed our claim and paid us the amount we requested.
We would definitely insure with them again.

Prompt service
We have used SCTI before but have never made a claim. This time we made 2 claims and both were assessed quickly and fairly and money deposited in our account.
We will definitely insure with them again.

Deceptive, wouldn't purchase their insurance again
Made a claim to reimburse my trip cancellation costs but got rejected. Saying it doesnt fit their definition of unexpected events. Its deliberately not stated in their policy so they can decide whatever suit them!!!

Best service ever!
We incurred a large fee from a cruise company treating my wife for pneumonia. On our return to Australia we contacted SCTI with all the details and their response was extremely quick, very courteous and helpful. The refund was in our bank account asap. In comparison to other insurance companies I have dealt with over the past few years SCTI are far superior in terms of processing and customer service. Thank you SCTI :)

Outstanding
I was persuaded to use SCTI by the positive online reviews and it was fortunate I did. My husband had a bad accident in Corsica requiring surgery and ten days in hospital. The SCTI First Assistance team were excellent. They were helpful and efficient and demonstrated real medical expertise and understanding. Hospital bills were paid directly to the hospital and other expenses I claimed after arriving home were paid within two weeks. I have recommended them to family and friends and would not consider using anyone else in future.

The most professional and easiest insurance company to deal with!
The policy was easy to set up.
I had to make a claim due to unfortunate circumstances back home.
The people I spoke to over the phone were excellent to deal with very symaphetic to what had happened and steered me in the right direction of how to lodge my claim.
The result was made within 8 business days of me sending off the relevant documents with a public holiday included in there. So under 2 weeks of lodging the claim I have received payout with no fuss.
Can not recommend southern cross enough.
Have used them a few times now and will not be using anyone else in the future.
The best travel insurance company to deal with.

Flight KLM to Amsterdam - Suitcase Destroyed - clothing damaged
Suit case was destroyed, clothing damaged. Within 3 days the claim for replacement of the damaged clothing was settled. Impressed with the quick service, would recommend this company highly. Great value for money, certainly recommended over and above some of the well known Travel Insurance companies. My son who suffered tooth problems and required the services of a dentist also was insured with SCTI and he was fully reimbursed for the services provided in Holland. So, next time we travel we know where our choice of Travel Insurance will be made.

one of the better prices I found for a trip of three weeks, Europe and Thailand.
Needed an ambulance, an overnight stay in hospital, medication. And because the hospital was able to confirm with the company in advance it was all paid before I left the hospital.

The best travel insurance.
I have used this insurance company for a number of years. The first time was for a nine month stint in Spain, then multilpe trip insurance for this year and last. It was very easy to set up. Unfortunately, i've had to claim over that time for medical, dental, car rental damages and stolen items. The online claim procedure is easy and all claims have been paid. I've recommended this company to others and will never use any other. I spend 2 months twice a year in Spain and having this insurance takes the stress out of travelling.

I am having a similar problem with a different company (I want to apply for insurance but their site is crashing). Obviously they are being hit by people panicking.
