What is the noise (DB) rating of indoor and outdoor units for the 3.5kw split aircon system

Unsure. But it isn't overly loud.
(And it has consistently reduced our quarterly bills by approx $300)

Can someone help me please, I also purchased a 3.3 Reverse Cycle Stirling Air Conditioner from Aldi in January 19 and it is being installed today. Can anyone tell me if theirs has a wire cage around the back and left side if looking at it from the front as this one doesn't and it looks weird. We also have a 2.7 Stirling Rev.Cycle Air cond. & it has this wire cage at the back on on one side.
Thank you Dorett

Sorry I forgot to mention this is for the outdoor unit.
Hi,
Well, seen from the front, your outdoor unit would look roughly like that:
http://www.stirlingappliances.com.au/img/products/reverse-cycle-inverter-split-system-air-conditioner/Air-Con-outdoor-large.png
From the back there is also nothing protruding, as there is some kind if fly-screen around the cooling ribs inside of the confines of the unit (this is correct design - but in the back of the unit only...)
My outdoor unit, however, does no longer look like shown in my link above, since I am an engineer and I corrected already the Stirling-design-shortcomings.
It was obvious to me from day 1, that mud-wasps would move in into the unit through the wide open gaps in the front. Initially I left the unit in it's original design, though (lack of time), only to be proven right: The mud-wasps moved in (which btw. could account for many problems people are having with this unit.).
I designed and installed a 9cm protruding out "cage" made of aluminium fly-screen and made the unit also from the front mud-wasp-tight. Reason for the 9cm protrusion rather than simply spanning the fly-screen plan over it:
I have done a little calculation: I need roughly those 9cm giving me additional "surface" for the air to pass through to make up for the surface area, which is blocked by the wires of the aluminium fly-screen (you have to think 3-dimensional to understand what I am saying).
Cheers, Peter
The mud wasps are my concern also as we have a dam on the property and mud wasps are prevalent here. I understand that a wire cage back and side doesn't keep the wasps out but the unit looks unfinished with being able to see into it from the side especially, the back doesn't really matter as no one sees it, they are not a well thought about design that is for sure. Our 2.7 works well and the outdoor unit certainly looks better than the 3.3.
Thanks for your reply, if you get the opportunity would you send me a photo of what you have done to yours to stop the wasp invasion.
Thanks again Dorett
