Salesman would not allow us to browse store while wife had handbag with her ( leave at counter or outside ) we would happily allow bag check, but refuse to leave valuables in vehicle or at a store counter

They've had my pressure washer for 6 months for a warranty claim, dozens of phone calls and all I get is excuses.
Found a cheaper price of Makita charger combo kit at Bunnings, went to Sydney tools to price match. The staff asked the boss of the store to deal with me, when the boss came, he just checked it on computer, found it’s same model, same product, but he didn’t want to price match, and what he said, “you can go to bunnings to buy it, we cannot do it at cheaper price”. That’s what the website said”Best prices guaranteed “? It’s really funny and doggy words. Definitely Not Recommended

I went to return bayer’s polisher which I bought few weeks ago because it looked like used and I wanted a better polisher from that. I didn’t even use it once. I had the receipt. They refused to return it. The staff was rude and they didn’t want to listen to me. They said it’s not in resalable condition. It was very bad experience for first time going to Sydney tools. Am not going back again. Specially at hoppers crossing.

I phoned the shop to order an item and paid by credit card and told me that it would arrive in 2~3 days.
Nothing arrived yet. I phoned them asking, but they told me it is still coming but no estimated delivery time this time. So, I asked them to cancel my order. They told me that they can cancel the order, but there will be 15% restocking fee and also you must come to the store to cancel.
I had to visit the store asking to cancel the order which I have not received that I need this weekend.
The person who put my order on on the phone came an...

And i missed the deadline of my job.
As a chippy I've spent thousands of dollars at Sydney tools over the last few years. Recently I've had a makita battery go crook on me, I took it back to Sydney tools to be told that they can't find it on their computer and CANT HELP ME. Reckon it's time for Total tools !

An unusable product was delivered. Been calling the store regularly since the 6th of Jan for a solution. Keep getting told I have to call someone in their importing department. Have called this person several times. The call is never answered, I leave a message and never get a return call.
Do not buy from SYNEY TOOLS SMITHFIELD.
Go to one of the stores which hopefully values customers and provides some degree of customer service.

Bought for renovation project. Prime valve is still leaking in spray mode so doesn't pressurise fully. Has never worked properly. Returned after a few day - Offered warranty repair which will take 5-6 weeks but we leave the country in 4 weeks time.

An assistant (Grant I think) helped me choose some tools I needed and explained the difference to me in quality. My coworker bought some from Bunnings and they died in the weekend after 4 months. I forgot to write a review back then, but felt the need now after my tools are still going and my mates having given up life

Ordered a large tool box from these guys ($1650) with the promise that they have them in the warehouse. A week passes and I finally call them to see where the tool box is and I am advised that they don't have them in the warehouse anymore. Cut a long story short they rang to tell me they have a pristine condition floor stock from another store for me,. I rang on a Saturday morning to ask if the product is right to collect. Assistant Manager said he would call me back. 3pm goes by and no call so decided I would just head up there and collect it....
Read more When the Assistant Manager finds out I am there to collect my toolbox he lets out "Pete Sake, worst timing", while other customers were around. Asked him what his problem was and started complaining of not enough staff. Not my problem!! He then starting dragging my tool box towards the front door before I could get a chance to check the condition. Luckily I stopped him because it was full of dents and scuff marks. Wrote a complaint email to which the assistant manager replied and said he will start refund. No offer of trying to find me a new tool box. Rude, arrogant, useless and incompetent would describe the staff at Sydney Tools. Not one word of apology from head office even though they were cc'd into my email. Will never set foot in that store or any other Sydney tools store again and never will anybody and everybody else I tell this story too. Look at the reviews on this page alone. How about Sydney Tools go back to Sydney and stay there. Not welcome up here with that attitude.Outstanding service and a big thank you to Armando from the Adelaide Store.
I had purchased a retractable power cord recently that upon its first use, the reel mechanism failed and the cord unwound and wouldn’t retract. I contacted the online Sydney Tools support who directed me to head to a local store for assessment.
I spoke with Armando at the Adelaide Windsor Gardens store. He contacted the Sydney tools warranty team and kept me informed of the process
This is where there is a split in the tail
He contacted me to say that the Warranty...
Read more department had denied my claim, saying that it was due to the customers incorrect attempt at retracting the cable. I knew from the start that this would likely be what they would say, turning into a “I said, they said approach”John helped me and a friend out massively and gave us the best price possible, definitely recommend for any tool needs, 10/10 service.
Brand new generator was not working and needed a replacement - was told it was a 4-6 week warranty claim and they can then choose to fix it, it wasn't even 4 weeks old and had been used once!
I was sold the product on basis of reliability and Sydney Tools service and asked if there was any way of avoiding the 4-6 week wait, I was threatened and intimidated!
I was further threatened for recording the interaction on my phone as evidence, the only reason I believe I wasn't physically harmed by the bullying staff.
I then received a call from the area manager threatening legal action against me for recording and reviewing the interaction!
The toxic behaviour clearly exists at an organisational level.

Found a competitor's price that was cheaper so went to Sydney Tools because they advertised 'best price guarantee'. Got there and they couldn't match the competitor's price even though it was only 10% off RRP.
They said it's below cost and pointed me to a statement at the very bottom of their T&C that says:
"Sydney Tools reserve the right to terminate or amend the price guarantee policy at any time without notice."
So it's at their discretion and not 'best price guarantee'.
Put in a complaint via their website but no response after 2 month...
Read mores, so I called and was told they couldn't find my complaint. What a joke! I've bought a few tools from Sydney Tools but never again. Wouldn't be surprise if they go belly up judging by their customer service.- 2 reviews

Rang the Mackay store, got Bert, what a deadset legend. He honestly couldn't have been more bloody helpful. His customer service was second to none. Thanks mate, you were such a great help. A real pleasure to talk to and deal with. Thanks
Don't buy from them...Rude staff..Buy from bunnings, better customer service and better exchange policy..
Bunnings is a better place to buy tools, better customer service . Sydney tools have absolutely no customer respect, they all gang up on you when you request an exchange. From now on, I will be buying from bunnings, you get better service there.....Don't buy from sydney tools....

I have been coming here for years now and I have NEVER had bad service.
Having read a couple of 1 star reviews, I felt I needed to respond.
The team here are great people to deal with and I am always offered help and advice whenever I have needed it.
I have written similar comments on Google reviews.
Sydney Tools have a huge range of tools but if you see something advertised ring first before you make the trip.
Chances are they WILL have it but ring first.
Don't go in with a bad attitude but treat the staff with the respect that you would expect yourself remember "The Universe Doesn't Revolve Around You"!
I will continue going to Sydney Tools Alexandria as, they have great prices and really good service and why would I go anywhere else?
Very poor customer service. Buying tools for a business. Not asking a lot just to be helped at location. Thanks
