Happy builder so far!
Very professional and organised
My slab has just been poured so the construction is just starting now. I've been happy with the admin process so far. It has been a bit slower than I would have liked, but mostly due to compiling paperwork and making changes to plans and selections (I made alot, I was quite fussy). However I never felt that my one thousand questions and my one hundred changes were a burden on any of the staff I had been dealing with. All staff I liaised in from the building consultant, selections consultant and customer project c...Read more
oordinator were lovely to deal with. They were all very responsive and patient with my queries and I usually heard back from them within good time. My building consultant was amazing, she often would reply to my emails super quick, after hours and on weekends which was not something I expected! My selections consultant was extremely helpful and I never once felt pressured to upgrade anything. If anything, I felt that they were deterring me from upgrading if it didn't seem like something that was necessary for me. So I felt they really considered my individual circumstances and what would for me. My customer project coordinator was really helpful and lovely, although right before the slab pour I found out she no longer works for the company. Other than the time it took to get from the Stage 1 to slab pour (10 months), due to delayed admin processes (e.g. 7 weeks to get documents when I was told 4 weeks), I have been happy. I'm excited to see the build progress during the current construction phase.

Never build with Weeks, slow, unprofessional,

Now recent photo about bay window posted, so what? They are just crap, you want fresh one, take it. Also, I add some more photos.
1. My point about bay window is why no one discussed the bay window in the first place, even no mention for the selection options. It is brick veneer building in contract, now you give us just a panel as a part of external wall? No specific drawing in the construction plan? Your own site manager was surprised when he first saw the white panel. When I talked to...Read more

Awesome house
We have just finished building our home with Weeks. From the beginning when George designed our house, Clare Sheperd and Clare Dixon who were our managers, Sheree who was our selection consultant to the amazing Peter our site manager we could not have been happier. The house was done in the time we were quoted and we were always able to get answers with any of our questions. We were impressed with the all the people that were involved in the construction of our house and would definitely recommend them

Delighted with our Weeks' home
When we sat with the consultant on our first visit and described our needs in a home, the consultant was able to immediately show us a Weeks' design that required very minimal altering to perfectly fit what we described. It is now nine months since we moved in. We have had long enough to nit pic if we wanted to. But, no, we got what we wanted. We are delighted with how well the interior was finished. Weeks did everything we contracted them to do. We have no hesitation in recommending Weeks as a builder of quality.

Worst builder i have ever met. Only chasing up for money. Change their words for the sake of their benefit.
Please do not waste your time and money for this sort of a dodgy company. I am telling from my experience. Weeks has a very tactical approach to grab the customer. Show a less price in the quote by putting lots of items as contingencies and ask customer to sign PDA 01 by paying $2,000. Then for that they send only the initial drawings. Which is nothing. Then ask to pay another $3000 in the PDA 02 stage to confirm the actual price of the quotation. Now you do not have a choice, you have to go ahead with them by agreeing what ever price they conf...Read more
irming because you have already paid $5,000 and signed the contracts. And you cannot go to another builder as well because weeks keep the copyrights of the plan even it your own design. [name removed] was our consultant. Was not a good experience for us. Wasted our time & money both. We paid for PDA 01, which includes the soil testing as well. They refuse to send the soil report as well till we pay another $3000 and enter to PDA 02. Customer caring is less than zeroSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing interior outside needs some tweaking.
We upgraded a lot, wonder if we should have been offered a higher inclusion package due to to level of our upgrades - that never happened. Happy with construction, although Jag has had a few issues, still to be resolved. Did have a leak in the kitchen the day we moved in, sorted quickly though so that was great. Hopefully no permanent damage. Love our house overall. Loved our help at selections. Alannah Bunn was so amazing. For every query Elizabeth McLean has got back to us in such a great time frame, we so appreciate your help. Our building supervisor Tim, was generally great at getting back to us with any issues, and for arranging entry for us to organise any installations from our side. Thanks George for a great design.

Washable paint isn’t washable
Our experience two and a half years ago with Weeks Building Group was mostly positive until we tried to clean the walls. Solver Maxi Wash which was stated in our contract has proved to be anything but washable. We are now looking at getting the interior repainted with the paint finish we asked for. I wish someone had warned us about this paint before signing up and new home builders, do your homework on paint finishes before it’s too late.

My new weeks home -Like living in a luxury hotel!
I Have been overly impressed with the timeline and communication during the whole build process, Workmanship and quality of the build is fantastic, All minor issues where dealt with efficiently during the build and after also. Final Cost was exactly what we started with. This was the first time I have built a house and they have made the whole process from start to finish incredibly easy.

So pleased we chose Weeks Building Group
It has been 18 months living very happily in our home and after hearing other building horror stories we realised how fortunate we were to have the Weeks team. Buying the block, designing our home, selection, build and follow up went smoothly, within the estimated cost with just a couple of hitches which were sorted respectfully. We feel the care and pride of those who worked on our house was reflected in the quality finish. Even my perfectionist brother was impressed. Thank you all.

Pros:
- Our customer service rep ([name removed]) has excellent customer service and is very responsive. [name removed] always provides detailed answers instead of just pointing you to a document.

Loving my first home with weeks !
Very happy with the outcome of my very own first home. I done a lot of research with different building companies and weeks were by far the best and cheapest to go with compared to others ! I found my entire process very smooth and easy to transition into my house ! My home got built in 5.5 months and was very fortunate to be living in there before Christmas ! I look forward to building with weeks one day again soon ! I would like to thank the weeks team that helped me move into my brand new first home:)

First Home - Happy so far-Upto 2nd week of Construction Process
We have completed our admin process with Weeks and our experience so far has been good. Though there was a delay in council approval process, we are happy with Weeks's excellent customer service. Our Building consultant Alice Wright was exceptional in answering all our million questions that we threw at random times of the day. She would respond to our queries the same day even if it was after work hours/during her non-working days. We did have problems getting the council approval. Alice went extra mile and spoke to the council planners multip...Read more
le times to get it sorted. But, one thing we felt was Weeks could have come up with a solution a bit sooner to get the council approval rather than going back and forth with the council. This took 3 months. Apart from that we did not have any other issues. Kevin Lawrence, our project coordinator always gave us honest timelines. He has always kept his promise. He would give us a call and explain our questions in detail and makes sure we are happy with it. He also prioritised our process (as we were getting pressure from land vendors to settle) to make sure the bank pack was sent on time. Kevin gave us realistic timeframes to expect but has always delivered a bit sooner than expected. He said the construction works will commence only in 2020 after the break, but our construction has begun already, and the slab is expected to be poured before Christmas break which is exciting. We also had a very good experience during our selections process. We loved all the products. Alannah Bunn was very polite and patient to answer all our queries during and after the selections process. She gave us nice ideas and suggestions. Looking forward to the full build and getting our home!1 comment

Worst Building Experience EVER.
The process took longer than 2 years in total and this company's ethos is proudly deceptive and lacking any sort of professional integrity. The lying started with the self professed best salesman in the Weeks group, [name removed], who promised that he would be a part of the process right through to the completion of the build - what garbage as he never made contact from long before construction even started! We chose Weeks because of the thermoloc product and the well designed floorplans but never imagined what was to follow. We had a soil r...Read more
eport already completed so that there would be no nasty shocks as is the "norm" for builders. They then quoted for the slab work prior to us making further payments. The time finally arrived to sign the official documents after several payments had now been made and then we met our next "professional" - [name removed] - a nasty little individual who told us that we would have to pay an additional $30,000.00 for the foundations of the 2 homes in spite of the engineers report that was in the possession of Weeks. Unless we agreed, we could walk away and then lose all monies already paid - he's a real piece of work and not to be trusted AT ALL!!!!! They offered a service to select a colour choice and thus avoid all of the normal nonsense of selections because their designer has done it all for you. We chose this "simple" format and were sent documents to sign and return by the Holder woman - another great example of the company ethos being expressed in their workforce. A week or more later we were contacted by [name removed], a more senior person who advised that all of the documents signed were wrong because they had mistakenly sent us the specifications for Victoria and not South Australia. The SA specs were inferior to the Victorian specs and we would have to sign correct documents before the process could continue further - the threat utilised at EVERY stage of the process where things weren't right! There were many delays during construction and a number of times they thought that changing specs would be ok like electrical work that they told me was changed to align with new laws - that of course turned out to be utter nonsense and the specs had to be followed! A new customer service person arrived on the scene early in 2022 and an automated email introduced her with a note advising that she would make contact in the next few weeks - the McLean woman has STILL NEVER made contact and the homes are now finished! This same woman sent the emails when payments were due and the last email in early August 2022 advised the homes were nearly finished and to prepare the final payment. Handover took place 16th October and then being able to move in took a further 2 MONTHS with the finished product representing the worst group of tradesmen. Never ever use WEEKS!!!Similar opinion? Up to slab laid
We decided on Weeks due to the non-pressure approach of our sales person which suited us. Once we actively engaged with them our process began and moved through to selections smoothly and quickly. The customer service team listened to everything we wanted in both design and selections.
The process did slow up during the completion of the selections and finalising paperwork but this was maybe that we were expecting that the process moved faster than it actually does.

Pre-construction Stage
Our experience with Weeks so far has been good. Our building consultant, Daniel was very accommodating to our requests and nothing was too much trouble. The selection process was easy and we liked the fact that the final selections are done at one place!! Our project co-ordinator Rohanne has been great with us. She always responds to our emails and is always there to help us out. It is nice to deal with one person who knows everything about your build!
The only negative thing we will say is the process of getting to the build stage was very slow.... it has taken nearly 8 months to get to the slab pour stage (although not all of it was Weeks' fault). We are now looking forward to the build stage

Really good build, difficult to fault.
Despite a slow start (not all Weeks fault) the build went to plan and cost. The quality of work has been very good and the steel frame keeps everything nice and straight. The building manager and project coordinator were both very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. At the end of the build I have found it difficult to fault any of the work and any minor defects have been repaired quickly. I would certainly recommend Weeks to complete your build.

You'll get more with Weeks
From the first meeting with our sales consultant to the hand over process with our building supervisor, my wife and I have nothing but praise for Weeks Building Group. Processes were explained to the nth degree in every aspect from house design, engineering, selections and during the building process. If there were any issues (although minor) these were resolved if not that day but the next. The professionalism of all the staff involved was amazing and we highly recommend this South Australian building company to anyone in the market to build their dream home.
Thanks again Weeks!

There are much better building companies out there
We are disappointed with most of the process and some of the final result. While we are happy with the structure overall, there were many unsatisfactory things too. I'm going to focus on negative things in this post, because that is what will be most useful to readers.
At the contract signing and building design stage, we felt rushed and that things were not properly explained. When I asked questions I was told by the sales consultant that I was 'pedantic'. In hindsight, we should have insisted on being allowed more time to understand and twea...Read more
k the design (we would have been happy to pay an hourly rate for this). After contract signing and selections, Weeks took months (the irony is not lost here) to get the bank pack ready. It wasn't ready by the the date we were supposed to get finance approval. By this stage we could see how hard it was (and how long it took) to communicate with Weeks - typically four weeks to get a response via email. We wanted to pull out. They hadn't started any part of the build. We had gone past finance approval date (due to their delays), which was a clause in our contract to leave without penalty. Yet they said they would not allow us to leave without them keeping 10 per cent of the project cost ($40K) or meeting us in court. We have full time jobs and young family. We didn't have the energy to fight. And this is the problem with Weeks. They know this. They are focused on making money - I have my own business, so I understand this basic fundamental need of businesses, but money should sit alongside caring for your customers, being able to put yourself in the customer's shoes, which Weeks absolutely does not. Fast forward two years (they said it would take 9 months to build but due to multiple delays on their end - change of site supervisor three times, one contractor going to jail, etc, etc.) and we move into the house. Instantly there are problems. The floorboards creak something terrible. The noise wakes up people sleeping downstairs. Weeks comes out along with someone from Supaloc to find the problem - one of the contractors used screws that were too long over the entire top floor, and every time you walk and a screw touches something, there is loud cracking and creaking (enough to make you sit bolt upright when you are sleeping downstairs). They say it's too expensive for them to replace or cut down all of the screws. So since moving in (10 months) they have sent out a contractor three times to access the screws by making manhole-sized holes (we've had six holes cut out so far) in the ceiling from the ground floor, and cut the screws he can reach. Of course, this doesn't fix all the creaking because there are several screws he can't reach. We're left with uneven and disfigured ceilings downstairs due to all the holes being cut out, replastered, and repainted. And we're feeling ill because the screws can't all be reached, and we know we're going to be left with a creaky house that cost a fortune but sounds 50+ years old.Similar opinion? Stress free build above expectations
The build was a relatively straight forward process. The process prior to the build commencing seemed long, but once they began building it happened very fast. The selections process was smooth and the suppliers were all helpful and knowledgeable in their areas. This was helpful as we needed some input in certain areas such as colour schemes.
The workmanship and quality of the property has been very good with only a few minor issues following handover. To Weeks credit they have been fast to fix any problems identified. A special mention to Kev...Read more

Allie Pallieasked
Weeks Building Group, please tell me why you reply to the positive reviews but you don’t reply to the negative reviews?
Customer service 101 days you respond to ALL feedback.
I’d love to hear how you justify the terrible things people say in their reviews. If you were in the right you would respond to clear up the situation and you would also reach out to the customer and offer to fix the problem. But you do neither.
Anyone reading this DO NOT USE WEEKS GROUP, they just want your money. They’re a cash cow and don’t build for the love of building or a passion for their craft.
There may be positive reviews but given there’s 20 people who have had such a bad experience they gave it 1 star, do you really want to risk being one of those people and have your dream of building your own home turn into a nightmare?

Wow Allie Pallie you must have had a really bad experience with Weeks - you sound so angry. We have been very fortunate we have had a great experience with them. I hope things improve for you.
Also did you speak to them directly?Your review talks about Weeks not responding to negative reviews so I was just wondering if you/they had made contact.
Well I’ve been really patient. I do agree with your review. I keep getting promised things will happen but everyday the same thing. It’s all about money. I’m in the 10th month now and was told the handover will be 5-6 months. I keep giving Weeks the benefit of the doubt but today I’ve had enough. I’ve had 3 supervisors and I can’t understand why they can’t supervise. There are some really professional people working for Weeks but unfortunately they will be judged by their weakest link. I still have issues that need to be sorted out and hopefully they will be addressed soon.

Has anyone built a Weeks home on the Copper Coast. SA?
1 answer
Well i'm not from the Copper Coast.
I know of 2 houses within 10 km of the Weeks Building Group Head Office that are massively behind schedule.
Build estimate for a 2 story is 9-12 months from the time the slab is poured. 1 house is Almost finished after 18 months.
Weeks don't do onsite advertising for a reason i guess :/
As for the Slab costs, you wont know until you fork out the $4k. Our sales guy says he made a very generous allowance for the slab... that blew out by 75% !
