Thanks for your support weeks team.
We are just beginning our build with weeks building group and have been very impressed with the professionalism of the efficient system we have experienced to get us to this excavation stage. We are true novices in building and have enjoyed working with a team that communicates in plain language and makes selections easier. We are excited with this next stage. Thanks for your support weeks team.

Great Experience. Highly recommend Weeks Building Group
I don't normally write reviews on anything, but I feel it would be remiss of me not to make comment on our builder. We are in the final stages of building our house at Middleton through Weeks Building Group and I can not fault them at any stage. Having lived in the North Eastern Suburbs all of my life, we were unsure of what house to build down near the coast.
During our first meeting with Weeks, we were pleased to be guided by their designer Jonathon regarding the layout and how best to maximise our space. He worked with us to design a pra...Read more
ctical yet classy single storey U Shaped house which suited our wide block. In the end, we love the design. Tick! Selections was made easy due to Roxanne's friendly approach and some of the suggestions made by her have been really useful and have complimented the design. Tick! The tradesmen to date have been exceptional. The brickwork is first class thanks to Steve the bricky and the entire process has been very smooth. Our site supervisor Ben has been happy to work with us as we are doing some of the internal parts ourselves and if we have any concerns, he is readily available to provide answers and when needed, solutions. Tick! I highly recommend Weeks Building Group to anyone looking for a hassle free ( as much as building a new house can be!) builder. They have exceeded our expectations and I am surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. I would definitely build with them again and am happy to recommend them.

Lost money and time!! Warning to all!
Like many other people on this website we too have had a horrible experience with trying to get a home built with Weeks (or months as they've been christened by some others).
We have had nothing but trouble and bad customer service from Weeks.
We first saw a house and land package advertised through them on realestate.com.au which we enquired about at the start of Feb this year. Upon correspondence we put thru an offer to them for the block of land. The land was also advertised privately by the owner for $380,000. We put thru an offer at the ...Read more
advertised price however it was rejected. We then increased the offer thru dealings with the vendor to $390,000 and he accepted. The next morning we had an email from the sales consultant at Weeks saying she was sorry to inform us the offer had fallen through and the owner was going with someone else. This was incorrect and she later emailed again to say she had made a mistake. We then went into the office to sign the land contract and being the build process. Along the way mistakes occurred and timelines blew out. It took them about 2 weeks to get us an air con quote, amended quotes took weeks to get, things went missing off the floor plans or placed in the wrong spot, plus we got told to do selections, then told not to as it would 'hold things up'...??!?!! The whole time we made them aware of the fact that we were moving interstate at the end of the year and this home was a rental so needs to be done as quickly as possible as we need to be here for it finishing and we need to minimise our holding costs. Nothing was done to keep things running on time and even after I was promised our reports etc would be made a priority they were still delayed. To get things moving Weeks made us sign a Preliminary Design Agreement and pay a $3,000 deposit which would be used for plans, amendments and soil/engineering etc reports done by [name removed]. The kicker is that to get a build contract you HAVE to sign the PDA and pay the cash otherwise you cannot get an accurate indication of the build costs. The problem here is that if you pull out because of price escalations or issues with the builder they will keep both the cash and the reports! That's right, you get NOTHING for the $3,000 you paid to them even though the reports were done by a third party!! The agreement is totally one sided and in the builders favour. Be aware of this as there are builders out there who don't make you do this.... So we paid the cash and signed our lives away to get moving because we wanted to build...With the months passing by and nothing being done (5 months later and plans weren't even in council / we hadn't seen a build contract or any reports), we decided to pull the pin on Weeks. We looked around at a number of other builders who agreed the time frame was not normal and that this was most likely due to the part owner moving to another building company and taking most of the good staff with him. A lot of staff have left or quit in the recent past and the structure of the company is disorganised so different sections don't complete tasks at the same time, they can only do 1 thing at a time. We were told our build contract wouldn't be ready for another 3 or so weeks but once we said we were leaving it was suddenly ready a few days later...what a suprise... After a bunch of back and forth negotiations and many conversations with numerous staff members a compromise could not be agreed upon. We gave our final goodbye and requested a copy of the reports [name removed] had done on our site. We were told by about 3 different staff members that we will only get a copy of the reports if we sign a build contract with them (blackmail) and if we leave for another builder we won't see them at all!! Hmmm, does this seem fair? Afterall we paid the $3,000 for these and they are applicable to our site only. We were told it's 'company policy' not to release the documents however we have spoken to other people who have changed from Weeks and have been provided with the reports. That was a few weeks ago and we are currently in the process of gaining assistance from Consumer and Business Affairs on the matter, if this doesn't get anywhere then we are considering legal action as we have been told by a lawyer that the agreement has unfair contract terms and is in favour of one party (the builder), additionally we had no choice but to sign the document to continue the process. Let this be a warning to anyone looking to build with Weeks, if you do go with them make sure you have plenty of time and money because they have no respect for either. They treat people poorly and hide behind their PDA when things go wrong. They use the PDA as a way of making people build with them even when they are unhappy because they don't want to lose their hard earned money. $3,000 for you may be a months salary but to them it's nothing and that's how they treat it.

know it. I'm simply informing other first time home builders of the tricks that building companies use to take your money. We have had no problems paying for reports, as mentioned in my review the issue is with the excuses made to keep the reports that we paid for. There is thing specific to Weeks in relation to the reports we are chasing, we have mentioned numerous times we aren't interested in the plans, only the engineering/soil reports etc done by a third partySimilar opinion? Handover a week ago, still no hot water, no communication from Weeks.
Handover was due 28th April (this date was late anyway) - no call from weeks when the date came and went.
Then got told 3, maybe 4 weeks. The date came and went again with no contact.
Handover finally last week, no hot water.

Happy Ending!
Building with Weeks has been a positive experience. We worked with a skilled team to get a quality home which best suited our block and we managed to stay within our budget. All information and detail of the build was upfront and costs explained and agreed to. The workmanship exceeded our expectations and the finished home with it's landscaped garden is amazing. Customer service whenever contacting head office has been exceptional and we've received great support from our Site Managers who also dealt with the odd mishap efficiently. We would definitely recommend Weeks to others..

Weeks Building Group Don't Go There
After many many months of research, my wife and I selected WEEKS as our new home builder. We worked with them on a customized home design. During this process we were being given regular "budget" pricing updates, for our own budgeting purposes. One of the major items was the footing costs. The sales person built in a price of an extra $31K to cover the difference between their allowance and what a soil report would require for the slab. I questioned her on this figure on several occasions. Not to try and reduce the price but to make sure there...Read more
were no blow outs. I asked if they had built in our area and was told "yes on many occasions". and with that experience they were around the mark with their allowance. So bore logs done, soil report done, Engineers report done price comes in with an additional $21K ON TOP OF THE $31K We are now talking $52K just for the footing costs. I asked Weeks for a copy of the report but was told no they will not release it. This report belonged to Weeks, ( I wonder how consumer affairs would view this ) In addition to the footing cost blow out they also found that the now "indicative" pricing for a number of other already costed items had to increase by another $20K. During a consultive meeting involving the State Manager he slipped by stating that he had instructed his sales staff to under estimate footing costs ( we all know why ) This information only came to the surface after we had paid our deposits. So I am guessing the Weeks thinking, we are emotionally and financially invested we would just bare the extra costs and keep going. After a number of weeks going backward and forwards my wife and i realized we could not trust them and decided to cut our loses. Since then we have signed up with another builder, building a slightly larger home ( approx 6 sq more ) with a fixed quote for the slab at $37K. So WEEKS JUST DON'T GO THERE.2 comments

As a custom builder, footing costs can only be confirmed upon receipt of the Full Construction Report. Whilst we make every endeavour to ensure our estimates are accurate, regrettably the cost for the footings may vary from the builders initial estimate. For this reason, Weeks Building Group do not enter into a building contract with our clients until costs are confirmed. Instead, a Preliminary Design Agreement is entered into to confirm the home design, structural requirements and associated costs including footings. Our Weeks Home
Being first home builders we were very nervous when we started our project, but the whole process was undertaken professionally and finished within the promised timeframe. Weeks provided us with the flexibility to design our own floor plan and the sales teams advise was invaluable. Our building supervisor was very responsive and reliable throughout the entire build which went very smoothly. The quality and finish of the home is exceptional and we would highly recommend Weeks as a builder of choice.

Detailed story: My reason for this review is being two-fold; primarily, they failed to deliver on what was promised and tried to overcharge and extract more money over the agreed land purchase deal. They displayed unethical sales and business practice. Secondarily, they consciously allured me to invest my time and faith in them, so as to provide expert advice, as I was a novice to the Australian property purchase system and was depending on them (my biggest mistake in whole deal). However, they left no stone unturned to cause me extreme physical and mental anguish.1 comment

Our Weeks Experience
We decided to build again and this was going to be our 4th place in a matter of 12 years.
Looked around at many builders and one stood out at the show homes for a range of reason. Firstly pleased what we saw, the quality of work and equally the consultant.
This was the only builder that really allowed and actually helped to perform selections with all sorts of experts out there – one for the kitchen, one for the bricks, one for the electrical etc

So happy with the process and outcome
I so happy with the entire process of building a house with Weeks Building Group. The initial planning stage was easy and I felt as thought the salesperson listened to me and understood what I wanted in my new home.
The build process was incredibly smooth. The building supervisor ensured that trades were there at appropriate times and there was a limited amount of down time on the site. The workmanship by all trades was monitored closely and held to the highest standard.
To this day I am so happy to have selected Weeks Building Group to build my home and I continue to recommend them.

Terrible Company Stay Away From This Company
I signed the preliminary contract in November 2015 and final contract in April 2016. They just started the slab in March 2017. Until start building, they delayed the process so many times unprofessionally and inefficiently. After start building, I thought all hassles are finished but still creating problems and delays. So please stay away from this company even they build with steel frame. I ended up several meetings with General Manager. I don't know the quality of the house going to be. ous people high up within your organisation, including the General Manager, so I am really surprised you haven't gotten back to me (again). I didn't really want to take this to Social Media, but perhaps I might be able to grab your attention with a few truths and to let everyone know what it is really like to build with Weeks Building Group. I recently 'built' a home with you and handover was just shy of 6 months ago. Supposedly this time frame is the same amount of time you quote it takes you to build a house from start to finish. However, here I am, sitting in my family room with a list a mile long of things that are yet to be completed, things to be repaired, things that you've ignored, problems you've left me with, and a dirty great big hole in my pocket and a house I couldn't sell, even if I wanted too! I could go on if you'd like? I guess you could say I am still waiting for you to finish what you were paid for, IN FULL, almost 6 months ago and some acknowledgement for the heartache you've caused and time I've had to take out of my life to get things sorted. To date, my house is still on construction key and I've given you full access at your convenience, so long as I am advised 24 hours prior to attendance of who will be coming and what they will be doing. As I mentioned above, you've also been paid in full, so I really don't see what the big problem is? You have your money and a key so there really isn't an excuse as far as I can see. Perhaps you could tell me, because at this point I'd REALLY love to know!1 comment

I've regretted already 1000 times that I started with Weeks Adelaide Group.
What a terrible builder. The preliminary agreement was signed in September 2015. The preliminary plans were re-issued 4 times, every time with many mistakes. This is despite we provided plans with all dimensions made on our own. Weeks just needed to copy them and they could not do even this. First time the amendment list had around 50 items, next one less and the last one around 10. Every time the correction took 2 MONTHS! The first revision of the drawings took even 4 MONTHS! er waiting so long and they were wrong again. Their drafters are absolutely useless. I even proposed to correct the plans for them myself if they gave AutoCad copies. That would be much faster, but they were keeping silence on that proposal. Eventually the preliminary plans were signed in October 2016. It took one year to copy the plans! 2 December 2016 they said that engineering report was done and would be given to me in 3-4 weeks. Today is end of January 2017 and STILL NO REPORT. To get an answer on a question takes weeks. Their consultant I am contacting with only gives my promises that she will answer, then disappear and not answering at all. Now we are going through selections. Choice in their standard range is terrible, but they did not forget to put a condition in their rules that if you supply items on your own, there is a fee for this. The things in the standard range are the cheapest from what can be got from the supplier, but they are good only if you are going to sell the house after the construction, but not to live in it. I have some questions regarding the selections, but the consultant does not answer. Their administrator is useless, to all the questions I asked her reply was to contact to my consultant. Managers in the office are busy, the girl at the reception does not put me through saying that they call me back, but they never call. Too busy with important things I suppose.2 comments

Highly Recommend the Melbourne Team
Early days with these guy but so far so "VERY" good.
I've built twice before but the process with our consultant has been very different as he is an Architect and not just a sales person he was able to design our ideal home and recommend construction methods and materials that would suite our budget. Seeing our new home in 3D and priced with all inclusions prior to paying any money was a wonderful difference. Nothing was too hard to do, I made many changes until we got it right. The team in the office are very friendly and professional.

Good quality home, but very long process...
When we first went into Weeks we did think that they were going to be quite expensive, turns out they are not too bad and do include heaps more standard items than most builders. Sales rep (Daniel) was fantastic!!!!, even came in on a Good Friday for us to sign the first contracts! Once it went into the selections appointments and build process this is where it took a very very long time... The first few selection appointments were great, Demore (they have the BEST range of gear and high quality), Clayton's Kitchen (best part of our house is th...Read more
e kitchen), Climate Air (LG ducted R/C with Colour ZoneTouch controller VERY good system and extremely quiet can not hear it running in master bedroom at night) etc. The final selections at Weeks head office was okay/average... But a few things made me very disappointed main one been that we were told we could select semi frame-less shower screens at the final appointment... Turns out we couldn't which may seem a small issue, but to me makes a big difference in the en-suite and bathroom look and feel. Also been told by the Weeks selection staff that we had a roller door not panel lift door and when we said no, it is listed on there as panel and that we paid 1300$ extra for it she argued the point and had to go double check. Not good customer service, as we were right! When it went to construction it took over 6 months (to build a 190sqm standard 3bed home) which to me seemed a bit long, they also messed up the oven we picked and installed the wrong one (which turns out to be better and sits nicer in the kitchen... LUCKY) so that was not so bad. Few times when we went past after lock up stage, we were actually the ones doing lock up as they did not seem to bother to lock up. The tiler was fantastic! And the Kitchen is amazing, Clayton's Kitchens are great, that's for sure. Who ever painted half our house, should go back to painting school, as half the house is so bad, we will need to repaint at some stage.3 comments

So it seems, promise after promise Weeks, you still have not been out to do what you said? A painter was organised for 3 Fridays ago... No phone call no nothing. It is very clear now, that once you ha... Read more
ve the clients money and hand over is complete, you have no care on anything else. Very sad and I would not recommend Weeks as a first home builder. At our age, lots of friends have asked who we built with. We tell them Weeks, but if you want a house that doesn't take over a year to build (this is a normal 3bed 185sqm house) and if you want timely service and after build service, then do not bother with Weeks. 2 friends of ours were thinking of it, but have recently signed with other builders, both spending 200K plus on the build. Not good enough.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We love our new home
First time build for us and we are extremely happy that we chose the Weeks Building Group to undertake our project. First impressions were of a very attentive professional team willing to go the extra mile to deliver the homes and results we set out to achieve. During the build we were very impressed by the quality of the trades in all areas, and the professionalism by which the project was being managed. Any issues we had were dealt with promptly and professionally. We were blown away by the build quality, attention to detail and the outstanding customer service we received. A very positive experience indeed, I would not hesitate to build with Weeks again.

Weeks Building Group, please tell me why you reply to the positive reviews but you don’t reply to the negative reviews?
Customer service 101 days you respond to ALL feedback.
I’d love to hear how you justify the terrible things people say in their reviews. If you were in the right you would respond to clear up the situation and you would also reach out to the customer and offer to fix the problem. But you do neither.
Anyone reading this DO NOT USE WEEKS GROUP, they just want your money. They’re a cash cow and don’t build for the love of building or a passion for their craft.
There may be positive reviews but given there’s 20 people who have had such a bad experience they gave it 1 star, do you really want to risk being one of those people and have your dream of building your own home turn into a nightmare?

Wow Allie Pallie you must have had a really bad experience with Weeks - you sound so angry. We have been very fortunate we have had a great experience with them. I hope things improve for you.
Also did you speak to them directly?Your review talks about Weeks not responding to negative reviews so I was just wondering if you/they had made contact.
Well I’ve been really patient. I do agree with your review. I keep getting promised things will happen but everyday the same thing. It’s all about money. I’m in the 10th month now and was told the handover will be 5-6 months. I keep giving Weeks the benefit of the doubt but today I’ve had enough. I’ve had 3 supervisors and I can’t understand why they can’t supervise. There are some really professional people working for Weeks but unfortunately they will be judged by their weakest link. I still have issues that need to be sorted out and hopefully they will be addressed soon.

Has anyone built a Weeks home on the Copper Coast. SA?
1 answer
Well i'm not from the Copper Coast.
I know of 2 houses within 10 km of the Weeks Building Group Head Office that are massively behind schedule.
Build estimate for a 2 story is 9-12 months from the time the slab is poured. 1 house is Almost finished after 18 months.
Weeks don't do onsite advertising for a reason i guess :/
As for the Slab costs, you wont know until you fork out the $4k. Our sales guy says he made a very generous allowance for the slab... that blew out by 75% !
