On their website .... We'll beat any comparable quote .... Price beat.
My policy was due for renewal but was increased by 17% so I shopped around and found a cheaper one with the same sum insured, benefits and nil excess. So I contacted WOOLIES and asked for a PRICE BEAT.
They didn't ask for any details to compare quotes and the reply from Customer Service was the following...

Fantastic Service
Couldn’t of been happier with the service having been with Woolworths for 6 years my dog Layla spent 4 nights in an emergency vets over Easter with a very expensive bill. I was so relieved Woolworths covered the 80 percent as promised and were prompt with the payment .

Amazing service and coverage
Had insurance for my 10 month old puppy for 3 months when we discovered he had severe hip dysplasia and degenerative arthritis.
They have been exceptional. Covered his initial xrays, medication, consultation etc (80%), and have pre authorised his surgeries, the first of which is this week.
Best insurance I’ve ever taken out. Was expecting them to argue any claims etc but the complete opposite. I’m so happy and surprised.

AVOID AVOID AVOID unless you like being ripped off!
I've Been with Woollies pet insurance for many years - thought it was reasonable. Never really claimed much over the years. I Just received my annual premium increase - 25% more! Yup! 25% more.
How they try and justify this 25% increase is a joke.
Nice try at ripping off your long standing customers woollies pet insurance!

Massive improvement
I have been a Woolworths pet insurance customer for about ten years and openly admit to being very critical about their service in the early days However i have nothing but praise for them in the dealings I have had with my pet who has to have radiotherapy treatment for cancer at a time when financial security is a worry. They have been prompt in turning round my weekly bills and open and transparent in what they are paying for. Its been such a relief not to have to worry about my pets health too much when everyone around is locking themselves away for fear of the virus.

Outrageous 25% yearly premium increases
I thought Woolworth's Pet Insurance was pretty good. However, with premium rises of 25% it is ridiculous. They have increased my premium by nearly $400 this year - for one dog - and they want over $1800 for one years insurance. I was a fan and recommended them to others - but definitely am not any longer and would suggest you look elsewhere. They know that changing pet insurance is next to impossible so they know they have you sucked in. I used Pet Plan with my previous two Labradors and never had price increases like this - I would recommend checking out Pet Plan rather than Woolworths Pet Insurance.

Expensive Renewals and trying to cancel is a nightmare.
My renewal came around and increased by $80 a year and without the vet assist which is came with the year before. I did not put a claim in and my dog is only one year old, so there is no real reason but greed for the price increase. I even got a separate new price, as a new customer, from them for a $100 cheaper than the renewal quote and it had the vet assist included too. You would think these companies would try to keep old customers instead of annoying them enough to go elsewhere. I am currently on the phone trying to cancel and have waited...Read more
40 minutes for someone to answer... Someone answered just after I wrote that and I am now on hold again for another department to make sure my policy is correct before he can cancel it totally! Absolutely overpriced!
Absolutely overpriced. I've been a longtime customer (since 2012) but since my dog was diagnosed with a heart condition a couple years ago, they have increased my premiums to $62 per fortnight from $50 which was unaffordable for us, leading us to cancel. Yes they do process claims reasonably fast. Cust service is mostly good however for the premium cost, can't say I would recommend. Disappointing for a long time customer. Who regulates these price increases?

Much Improved
Its possible that Woolworths Pet Insurance have had a service overhaul.
I have just had my two claims paid out in a very timely manner. One claim was for around $156.00 and the other around $2200. Within two days of my vet submitting the paperwork I received an sms from Woolworths stating they had received my claim and were assessing it. Both claims were paid within three days. I was also able to log into my account and view progress of the claims. I was very pleased.

Dodgy with paying out claims
Been a customer of Woolworths Pet Insurance for over 5 years and every claim has always been paid out with no issues. My dog then had a skin and eye infection that we had to take to get medications. Total vet bill was $166. However put the claim in, Woolworths decides to split up the claim in two spots and as there is a $100 excess they decided to split the claim and therefore as they have done 2 different claims and halved the amount they are not not paying anything as below $100 and I am out of pocket. $70 per month and the only thing I get reimbursed for is my council fees and the yearly vaccinations. Starting to feel this is not worth it.

Stay Away!!
Had my policy for 2 years and when I tried to make a claim, it was rejected. Woolworths pet insurance will find any way possible to not pay your claim!! They advised me that my claim for an ear infection for my dog is a pre existing condition because he had an ear infection 3 years ago???? This insurer is only after your money and will avoid paying your claim at all costs, so do yourself a favour and save your money.

Struggling to get reimbursed for our single claim.
For the amount you pay its ridiculous what they put you through to get a refund!!
We have made only this claim that is under $200 for our pet dog in 2 years of being with this company only to get the run around with excuses. I even contacted my vet to email them the history, the very little he has, only to be told again they are still waiting for an email... 19 days later still not a word or update.
Absolute rubbish service especially for a first claim with no ongoing or prior related history.
If I pay my bills on time I expect you treat my claim on time!
Through experience I recommend you shop around when looking to insure your furry loved ones.
This mob do not fairly make the cut and are a fail for pet insurance.

Absolute Joke
Have had my policy for Woolworths Pet insurance for the past 6 years and never made a claim (tried to make a claim for Kennel Cough and it was rejected as it was a vaccinatable condition, my dog was vaccinated yet he still got it at puppy daycare), the premiums were climbing so asked to go down to basic cover from comprehensive cover, emailed with the quote I was given and said please go ahead with this new payment. New renewal has just come in going from $34 to $42 a FORTNIGHT and they kept me on the same payment last year when I had emailed...Read more

Honestly, I can't fault them
We got Woolworths Pet Insurance for our Golden Retriever puppy in January 2022. And, I can guarantee to you we have more than recouped our costs.
As luck would have it, our bouncy puppy has skin allergies that require a monthly $165 injection. Plus he's a bit stupid (bless his soul) so he's often injuring himself - just 2 weeks ago we were in for a throat infection because he'd stuck his snoot in a pile of grass clippings and got some lodged in his airways. Sedation + flush + antibiotics + steroids later he's back to his bouncy stupid self.

very time we're at the vet, they submit the claim for us, I get a text message, and within approx 5 working days the money is back in my account. We have saved thousands of $$ and only had the policy 11 months! Reading some of these reviews I honestly think some people have about as much sense as my Golden. Read the PDS. Know the rules. Follow them, and you won't be disappointed. If your dog has had a related illness before you took out the policy (even if it's barely related an not re-occurring), you won't get covered. It says so quite clearly.1 comment

Woolworths Pet Insurance buyer Beware!
Cost me over 600 bucks in the last year for this policy. Made 2 claims the first I received $100 bucks and the 2nd none as there is an excess per claim. So therefore out of pocket $500. When you sign up they tell you they will process claims within 10 days. Not so. After 3 phone calls and 5 weeks of waiting the call centre girl told me that I will be getting nothing back due to the excess and that it was being processed by the claims department. I immediately cancelled my policy. Better off putting that money into a savings account. So annoyed...Read more

Hopeless,
I wish I had read these review prior in taking out insurance with Woolworth for my pet. I would not trust them and they will try wissling out of paying any claim. I had to chase them to find out what was going on it took 20 days not 5-10 days as stated. They do not care about you nor your pet. Stay right away, you'll be better off.
I'am contacting the ombudsman about this scums,
