Great Service in Troubled Times
COVID-19 struck and we suffered our cruise cancelled just 36 hours before embarkation. Not needing to claim on the insurance I requested a possible premium refund. While this was not possible, Zoom have provided a credit that I can use within the next 6 months. Very professional and accommodating in my dealing with Zoom. Thank you.

Excellent service
We had bought an insurance policy to cover a very short cruise in Sept 2020.Due to the current Covid19 situation we reluctantly decided not to continue with our plans to cruise due to health concerns.I contacted Harriet at ZOOM and she was able to organize a credit to be used at a later late when it is safer to travel.Thank you ZOOM .....very much appreciated and will certainly use again when we are able to travel.

Clear Communication Great Service

I felt that who I dealt with understood my situation. It was great to get a credit on the policy as they

I have used Zoom many times. Easy on-line process. Always helpful and cheerful on the phone. During this trying time Harriet got back to my email within 24 hrs. Good result I have been given a credit note for 18 months for my postponed trip.

Travel Insurance
We were unable to utilise the Zoom travel insurance because of the Covid-19 pandemic. As with most travel insurances, pandemics are not covered. Zoom was therefore not obliged to refund the money. It was obviously very disappointing not to get money refunded, however upon a request for refund of policy premium, we feel Zoom have acted fairly in offering a credit voucher to the value of our premium.
This has been much appreciated. Harriet has been very prompt, friendly and efficient to deal with.

Wonderful service and very professional
The policy was very good value and easy to set up.
I have used zoom previously and found them exceptional in their assistance. Our trip had to be canceled due to ill health and the whole fares were refunded to us.

Truly reliable and prompt in dealings
Was unable to travel to a Europe due to a Covid-19.
Very quickly was able to get a credit for my insurance to use within 18 months as I had not used the policy to claim.Zoom made the whole business so quick and simple. Not common these days.

after our world trip was cancelled due to covid, and after the 14 days cooling off clause, I really did not expect anything from Zoom, but was very surprised indeed. They answered emails the same day, and offered an immediate credit voucher with 450 days to use. I was more than satisfied with this result.

Cheap and helped out during Covid drama
They were quick and easy to deal with when requesting a credit during the Covid epidemic. Not to mention they are really cheap. Would definitely recommend to friends and family for any type of travel

No Cover (read the fine print), No Trip and No Refund
Two policies brought last year, one for travel in May 20202 and the other in June 2020, obviously everything is canceled. In the fine print, you will note a Pandemic is not covered, most other insurers cover this event, NOT Zoom. So I thought a refund would be an obvious thing to request as the policy would NOT be used, just like any other insurance, say a car if you sell it you get a refund on your insurance, NOT with Zoom and I don't want credit. Maybe I need insurance for the insurance policy, I might run this by consumer affairs.

It is difficult to assess and predict the scope and severity of wide-reaching catastrophic global events like pandemics, epidemics, or the outbreak of war, and to price them accordingly. Our general exclusion for pandemics exists in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and we encourage all customers to read this or ask questions so that they understand what they are and are not covered for prior to buying a policy. Our PDS may seem a little longer than some of our competitors as we have designed it in such a way that there is no ‘fine print’. All wordings in the PDS are in the same size font to make it easy for you to find and understand. The travel industry has undoubtedly been one of the hardest hit by this crisis and as we all navigate our way through this, we are providing our customers with as much flexibility as we can. For travellers that bought their policy before Covid-19 was a known event that can no longer travel due to the travel bans, we are offering (at our discretion) a credit voucher outside of our usual policy terms so that they can travel confidently when the time is right. My main issue with your insurance is that I cannot get a refund, I understand every business is suffering due to Covid-19, but this policy was and is not going to be used, so no expense to your company for potential claims. Taking advantage of the corona virus.
Paid for my travel insurance and then my cruise was cancelled due to the travel restrictions. It was a few days outside of the 14 day cooling off period and yet they still refused to cancel the insurance and refund. Advised I will not be taking a cruise within the next 12 months but this company doest not care. They are taking advantage of an unfortunate situation. Very disappointing deserve negative stars.

Changed policy after purchased!!!
We purchased travel insurance in November 2022 for our flight to USA due to leave on March 15 2020.
At the time of taking out the policy there was no such thing as Coronavirus.
As our trip has gotten closer we have seen the intensity around the virus increase. We rang Zoom Travel Insurance to discuss our policy and what we would be covered for and they said the whole company had changed their policies and would not be covering anything related to coronavirus no matter when you purchase your policy!! Do not buy travel insurance. Worst claim process and customer service
Worst experience to file claim. the claim agent asked for unnecessary documents just to avoid paying the claim and worse, the claim agent requested me to provide information I already submitted. The claim agent sent me on a wild good chase to get unnecessary documents and information from the airline and travel agent (this costs me about $400 to call them as we are overseas) just to deny my claim.

They suck - AVOID
If you do not own your phone, DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY. They only cover people who own their phone, which in this day is minimum people. The policy was horrible value as I feel like I would’ve been better off not purchasing insurance at all. It’s taken 2 weeks to be advised my claim was denied. Once, and will never go through them again.

pt to prove ownership or evidence of the original cost that you are out of pocket for is standard when making a claim on most travel insurance policies. Our decision not to cover cracked screens is by no means dodgy. Unfortunately, people drop and smash their device screens all too often, which would ultimately drive up the cost of our travel insurance policies. Rather than covering damage to device screens we aim to keep the cost our travel insurance policies low so that all Australians can afford to be covered for overseas emergencies and more serious travel predicaments abroad. We don’t try to hide this fact, it is included in our PDS in the same font size as what we do cover. It is almost impossible for us to recite everything that is written in the PDS when someone purchases a policy, but we do provide links to our PDS at every available opportunity and encourage customers to read and understand it. Of course we know that a lot of customers don’t read the PDS, which is why we have a friendly team of consultants available to answer any specific questions in relation to cover prior to buying a policy. I appreciate that you are disappointed with the outcome of your claim. We consider all claims on a case-by-case basis in line with individual circumstances of the event and our policy coverage. Please note that if you’re unhappy with the outcome, you can choose to have the original decision reviewed by an independent panel by emailing your policy details to [email protected]. So happy
I've always gone with my credit card insurance in the past, but I needed extra cover for my cruise. Zoom Travel Insurance were by far the cheapest I could find and their website was super easy to use. I'll definitely be using for all my trips from now on and have already recommended to lots of friends. Thank you!

Hi David, The best way to have any questions about the cover offered by Zoom travel insurance answered is to contact us directly. You can contact our friendly customer service consultants via online webchat, email or phone.
To answer your query, we have a general exclusion in our policy relating to epidemics and pandemics, so anything related to the coronavirus is unlikely to be covered. Having said that, all medical emergencies are referred to our 24/7 emergency medical assistance team and all claims are assessed based on individual facts and circumstances.
