Zoom Travel Insurance - Standard

I have had to use my Zoom travel insurance twice on our trip, once because my husbands phone got stolen, the second was because our flight was cancelled due to a hurricane.
Both times, have been horrific, we have been treated like we are criminals, they have at every turn tried to not pay ANYHTING! We have had to fight consistently, to try and get reimbursed. Zoom have made the entire process so long and drawn out and complicated, that it is nearly 2 and half months later and we haven't seen a dollar from them.

I broke my wrist in Malaysia. Zoom covered me for an operation, a hospital stay and an airline upgrade on my return flight. Of course it took some time and paperwork on my return, but they were right behind my claim.
I have used Zoom ever since, and I have recommended it widely.

The Airline cancelled one of our flights and rebooked us on a latter flight that would not arrive in time to board a connecting flight, total mess. Trip.com stalling on refund. Emailed Zoom 3 times to proceed with a claim. No reply, now second week. The only thing that works is the emergency number, to a call centre in asia somewhere. A call centre that has multiple clients, not just Zoom. The lady did not know what "Lufthansa" was, had to explain that its the German national airline. Totally useless. Imagine being stranded in Munich with Zoom

I've used Zoom a number of times now, because they cover licensed motorcyclists hiring bikes > 200cc overseas. Their conditions ( wear helmet, have appropriate Australian license etc ) are practical and sensible.

This time I've had to postpone because of Omicron Covid rates rapidly rising. Zoom customer service have been great, very responsive in cancelling my latest unused policy and giving me a voucher for the full amount, to use within a generous 18 months time-frame. This timely and flexible response by Zoom inspired me to write this review.

This is our second time of using zoom for overseas travel. Because of coronavirus this time our trip has been cancelled. Contacted Zoom and they have given us a credit voucher which actually works out to have about 2 1/2 years to complete our next trip. Many thanks Zoom and we will continue to recommend you to others!

Worst experience to file claim. the claim agent asked for unnecessary documents just to avoid paying the claim and worse, the claim agent requested me to provide information I already submitted. The claim agent sent me on a wild good chase to get unnecessary documents and information from the airline and travel agent (this costs me about $400 to call them as we are overseas) just to deny my claim.

Great value, easy to set up, and the girls on the phone answered all my questions and helped me pay over the phone. We ended up needing to claim when my daughter became ill - absolutely no hassles there, the claims people were brilliant. And thank goodness given how much American doctors want to charge you! I wanted to leave a review in gratitude for their time - it’s rare you find an insurer who actually answers the phone or pays claims, so thanks a bunch!

I originally chose the policy because it was a lot cheaper than all the well-known brands, and when I called them to ask questions, they were friendly, kind and quite honest - they told me upfront some of the things they don't cover relative to other brands (stuff I didn't need anyway).
