The promises were tangible and the responses to my inquiries were quick and succinct...UNTIL!!! WAIT FOR IT...I made a claim. Hellooooo....anyone home? Not any more it would seem. I saw the Dr...they made their report...I submitted the onerous information and documents...bank statements?? really?? the credit card receipt not enough to show you whose account paid. Already Overseas Travel Insurancemy husband I were recently in the U.S. holidaying when unfortunately my husband required emergency surgery. He was in hospital for almost 3 weeks where he was extremely well cared for. 1Cover was so easy, efficient & pleasant for us to deal with. It seemed as though throughout this difficult time that our welfare was their primary concern. There was no expense spared with either the medical costs (considerable) or our accomodation. Comprehensive Travel InsuranceYou never know how good insurance is until you have to make a claim! 1Cover responded to us in their prescribed timeframe and our payout was made within 15 days. Yes it was a bit frustrating to have to upload all the information they needed but its a pretty good online system and we are both over 60 but managed to get through it! I would recommend them 100%. This is the seventh time we have used them and first time we had to claim. Well done!

Mislaid Baggage... Totally Insured ...We Thought...
Comprehensive Travel InsuranceTook out comprehensive travel insurance for my brother who is Aspergers Syndrome. Luggage was lost for over a week with Qantas carrier. In the interim he had to purchase a shaver toothpaste toothbrush and moisturizer as all lost in his baggage. Not a big ask..around $450. Spent hours providing One Cover with required information clearly providing Qantas Carrier Ref number for loss itinerary receipts etc..but One Cover kept requesting same information again...quite frankly deflecting a simple claim for compensation. Do not use this company..they seem to go out of their way to find an excuse not to cover a very simple claim.
Paid out only 1/3 of our costs when Air NZ cancelled flight and couldn't rebook us for 2 days

You cannot get through on the phone if you have a problem. There is no phone line and there is no email. Forms have to be filled out online and it takes up to a week to hear anything, then another week after you reply to them to get their reply. We had to stay another night in Queenstown and then a night in Auckland whereas previously our flights were direct to Perth in one day. We had $2000 of additional accommodation and expenses (2 extra nights for 2 rooms, meals and taxis). 1Cover only paid $800 and said because it was operational issues that's all they will pay. They won't cover our meals or taxis The $800 only covers 1.5 out of 2 of the rooms for 1 nights stay. We had to stay 2 extra nights and had zero other options from Air NZ and no accommodation aws arranged or paid for by Air NZ. I feel very cheated by 1Cover and also by Air NZ. I will not recommend 1 Cover or use them again. You see the true colours of an insurance company once you have to make a claim.Disappointed
Travel InsuranceMy cruise was cancelled Cruise coy gave full refund, when I applied to 1Cover to refund the amount I paid for the actual travel insurance it was very difficult. The amount of personal documentation required was extraordinarily excessive. Cruise Coy cancelling/bank statement showing cruise coy refund/my passport/ another phot of myself/my bank details showing pmyt to 1Cover/Cruise itinerary...then they said No. I said I was going to Con.Affairs as I had paid them for a service they had not supplied. Then theypaid up. Never again.

Comprehensive Travel InsuranceI have used 1Cover for regular overseas travel for well over a decade. I made one small claim (dental issue) probably 15 years ago. I have never made another claim.
I was the victim of a pickpocket in London in July.
1Cover have made 7 (SEVEN!) new requests for information or documentation, (some unreasonable) each time stalling the outcome for another 10 days. My claim is not huge. Cost in man hours to them would far exceed any payout. My opinion: not dealing with me in good faith.

Nightmare- DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE
Already Overseas Travel InsuranceI have provided police report on theft overseas and have provided every single details required. Travelled in 1st week of Aug and every week since the claim I have to sent email to the generic CS email to follow up on my claim progress and all I hear is that due to large amount of claim we extended our response time for another 10 days
It has been going on for 6 weeks now and no RESPONSE!! the worst is they don’t have a CS phone number to talk to anyone. No one takes any responsibility of the claim you lodge and you stay in the limbo.

Comprehensive Travel InsuranceHave used 1 Cover on all travel overseas (6 times prior Covid) especially to South East Asia (Thailand).
Prior to Covid I was due to travel but all was locked down for nearly 2 years. 1 Cover gave a credit which lasted till now. On buying a policy for October trip and using my credit something went wrong and credit was not deducted from new policy.
On contacting 1 Cover (email) I was very impressed with the reply, in as so much they were willing to refund the credit amount. Very impressed.
Will be hard for me to use any other travel insurance policy from other companies.

When something goes wrong there’s no help
Comprehensive Travel InsuranceLost my luggage in Vancouver and lodged a claim online. However, it’s impossible to follow up because they don’t take calls by phone. Emails go unanswered for several days at a time. When I bought some clothes, because all I had were the ones on my back, 1Cover wants me to produce receipts for my original clothes. Who keeps receipts for those things. I’m out of pocket a really need that money back for bills etc, but still waiting after a couple of weeks. There’s zero sense of urgency with this company. Best to avoid them and go with a big, well known insurer. Wish I had.
Endless story of a claim
Travel InsuranceWent to Europe and had to go to hospital with leaving a baby at home with a sick daddy, so already stressed out as. But thought we're all good and covered.
Only that it took ages for us to get in touch with someone from the insurance company. In fact after almost two months of waiting, there's still no money to be seen in our bank account.
Not only are you not able to call them but when the period of your insurance is over, you can't log into your account anymore to upload more documents. Which they asked for the same once in 3different email

When speaking to staff either in person or by email they have been very helpful, they know their products & give answers to all questions.
