Not bad at all!
Overall Aldi Mobile has been great for me. Their plans are affordable and their coverage is satisfactory. Sure there have been a few occasions where I can't find reception, however for the price I pay, no real complaints here. However I wouldn't be mad if they did improve their coverage!

If only they were at good at telecommunication as they are with groceries.
Terrible reception and call quality - as soon as I walked into ANY building, it would struggle to maintain a network connection, let alone a phone call. I went through all the trouble shooting steps, from contacting ALDI mobile where I spent hours on the phone tweaking advanced settings and replacing the SIM card - who then suggested it was my mobile device that was faulty and I even went as far as nearly sending my phone in for repair with google and buying a new one. Thankfully, before sending my pixel for its unnecessary 'repair', I noticed ...Read more
I still had terrible reception on my new phone. So I returned my new phone, signed up for a different provider and to my surprise, I had a strong network connection. Don't be fooled by their use of the Telstra network - whether it's because they're using only a part of it or whether telstra itself has awful connectivity nowadays, it's not worth spending the past year wondering why people can't hear you or why I never replied to a message. ALDI has awesome grocery deals - it should probably stick to that industry or invest more into this one.

who has these problems?
i am an telstra and optus refugee. my company had up to 8 mobiles at any one time and always had some drama -- poor coverage, account difficulties, equipment failure (under warranty), etc, we changed over to aldi on all phones and for 3 years have never, i repeat, never regretted the move. if you want to complain about poor service, terrible phone support, and account screw ups. just get an optus or telstra account. try to contact support, and try to understand whatever is passing as english,, If you want to be on hold for up to 120 minutes - y...Read more
es, that was the final stroke before we went to aldi - then stick with the big three, optus, telstra, and vodaphone. If you cannot tie your shoelace, maybe you should not get a mobile phone. and stop trolling.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not really that cheap
I have a prepaid plan for the kids phone. Reception is good, Ive never had a problem. Recharge is a different story. Once I recharged $15 and it didnt work, no credit, although my credit card got charge $15. So retried and got $15 credit on the phone. So lost $15 somehow in cyberspace. Yesterday we got a message to say there was $4.92 credit left and then 40 minutes later another message came through to say credit was $0! My kids hardly use this phone and certainly hadnt used it in between those messages. So there is something wrong with their prepaid charging system. I will recharge again once more and if I have any further problems, I will change providers.

Basic customer service and sometimes slow, but better than Telstra
After 13+ years with Telstra I took the leap to Aldi 6+ months
I was just sick and tired of Telstra's customer service
First things first, the customer service is a bit slow to answer, but they actually answer. That's an improvement over Telstra.
They some times need to emails to get it right and be clear but at least they persist to get it right.
They run using the Telstra 4G network so the reception means great signal almost everywhere AND no need to ever deal with Telstra staff. What an awesome combination! :)
The price is brilliant too, $35 per month instead of $130.
Plenty of room in those savings to buy a phone myself....Read more

Worst Customer Service I have ever experienced
Absolutely the worst customer service i have come across. Have been trying for four days to get my number activated. Have had to wait for up to twenty minutes on hold before hanging up in frustration.

Abysmal service
I have an Aldi sim and was advised by email it was due for recharge (just 3 days notice) I dutifully went to their web site and after an hour of wrestling with it finally got to the recharge area. This area makes no sense at all but I selected a plan and it stated I was done yet NEVER asked for any credicard details? another email then stated I had over $30 credit ?(from my $15 plan ??). I phoned and after an hour of their horrible grating musac an operator answered then claimed he couldnt hear me and hung up. Today I again called another 15 mi...Read more

This is NOT an ALDI problem - it is Telstra
I am with Telechoice, my friends are with Aldi or Woolworths.
One of us started complaining about poor telephone access, then we all started complaining.
We went to where one had a problem - .
At one of our friends house, WE ALL HAD NO ACCESS. So, we deduced it is not the reseller, but Telstra.
I lodged a follow up complaint with Telechoice. I asked them to find out why I had a good service at home 2 months ago but now have no service. The resultant information from Telstra was that it was due to bushfires and Telstra aren't going to fix the problem. NOTE: I live in an urban area several hundred kilometres from any bushfire!

Worst mobile service provider I have used
Would have given a 0 star if it was possible. I have been using Aldi mobile for past 5 months. I am not able to get incoming or outgoing calls for the past 2 days. Got resolved for few hours when I gave customer care a call on day one. Same thing happened on second day and they informed that they can get it resolved in 2 business days!!! I am still not able to get incoming or outgoing calls. Missed my telephonic interview. Worst service I have seen ever.

Really, really B.A.D. customer service.
Cannot even register or activate - the code they send by text NEVER arrives. If you buy online expect to wait for delivery of sim. Then activate? NOWHERE in the instructions does it say now insert your aldi card. Really, really B.A.D. customer service.

Excellent if you live in Metro Australia
Don't really understand why theres so many bad reviews. Yes their reception coverage isn't as good as Telstra, but it uses most of their towers and is just as fast. If you live in a smaller city like Canberra or Wollongong, you still get excellent cover. Out on country roads, your reception isn't as good. As for the data rollover, its amazing, and they always increase it regularly. Ive been with Aldi for 2 years or so, totally worth it, will never sign up to a ridiculously high price plan with Telstra or Optus again!

Can't Terminate the plan.....Best cancel your credit card
I signed on a pre-paid card and fell for their trick in giving my credit card. Next thing I knew they kept charging me every month. When I told them to terminate. They terminate my login and I could not raised a ticket. After I sent them a terminating email and went overseas on holiday they sent me another mail to ask me to confirm the termination and continue charging me. I can't reply to that email and had to call them. The operator sounded so nice and say they will process my refund but another email say they won't and ask me to confirm again. REALLY crap!!!!

Really bad if you use lots of data!
If you are like me and use lots of data, STAY away from Aldi mobile. They are frustratingly slow at times and unbelievable number of disconnects. You basically get what you pay for! I often don't connect straight away, then when I do they disconnect me soon after. I am about to look for a second provider for data.

Terrible, waste of money, pathetic customer service
Terrible, changed over to aldi thinking I was getting a good deal. Payed 25 dollars to unlock my phone, 5 dollars for the original sim and an additional 25 for recharge. Was never able to make or receive calls. Only msg and internet worked, complained to their so called customer service and was told to go and buy another phone. Despite the fact my phone was only a year old. Now cancelling both mine and my wife's service with them. Don't do it! They will take your money and give you nothing!

Very good value
We've been with Aldi Mobile for about 6 years now - initially I had the kids on Pay As You Go, on the basis that they couldn't exceed the amount of credit they had and it would teach them to think about their usage, and later on switched them to Mobile Plans - which are very, very good value. We also have phones with Telstra and Optus and of the three providers Optus has been far and away the worst to deal with. And has the worst network to boot. Aldi is very cheap, offers data rollovers and uses Telstra's network, so what's not to like? We...Read more
've only had one issue with them in that time, where, due to a poorly worded explanation on their website, we managed to terminate one of the $99 12 month plans. Once I contacted them Aldi did then fairly quickly credit me with the balance of the old plan as a PAYG account and then when that ran out we switched to a new plan. So, I've spoken to them once and got a result, whereas we had teeth-grinding issues with Optus' call-centres that dragged on for months and led me to cancel most of our services with them. Whilst the Aldi network is technically not the full Telstra network, in practice it's been available everywhere. Again, unlike Optus, which can't even deliver 4G in Daylesford. Some of the critical reviews appear to be rather confused - as an example, one recent reviewer appears to have purchased the $15 PAYG plan - where the dollar value of the plan is used by calls, SMS and data - but expected to get the inclusions of the $15 Mobile Plan. Yes, if you stream video it will chew through the $15 very quickly, but that's hardly a fair criticism of Aldi, who do make the relevant terms very clear on their website.Similar opinion? Poor customer service. No reply or response when number transfer is rejected.
I have tried to change service from Exetel to Aldi mobile. But when the number transfer has failed they have not provided any notification. It is hard to understand the customer service people with funny accent.

Aldi Mobile support are unprofessional
I called Aldi Mobile support as their voicemail settings are wrong. They told me to contact the phone manufacturer but that was wrong. The manufacturer told me they have the hand on this.

Very poor service
The only good thing I can say about my experience was that the financial arm was efficient in taking and returning my money when I had had enough.
Long waits on the phone. Four different attempts.
An obvious script the call centre would or could not deviate from.
Then they would hang up and say they could not help.
A minor name issue could not be fixed.
My two requests to talk to a supervisor were not met.
The supervisor was ‘too busy’ to talk to me, or did not return my call when I was told they would.
Oh, and the phone number I was requesting to keep, was lost, and the call centre could not assist due to a minor mis-spelling of a name,or something, somewhere along the way.
Hopeless.
I have gone back to my original provider.

No customer service when you need it
30 mins on hold to get through to aldi mobile for technical support at 11am and i still haven't spoken to anyone yet!! Even tried different options for the sake of speaking to a person. Aldi at least place a msg between the hold tunes advising/apologising to us for a long wait time!! Or unattended office. Can't give a zero rating, how frustrating. Tsk.

Why does Aldi Balance & Recharge, an My Account, persist in asking me to recharge after I have already done so? They even acknowledge this via fact email. And none of their 'help' questions cover this. It is most frustrating. As I am very deaf I cannot ring them either.

Why is my aldi payg running out so quickly yet the first $5 lasted 12 months. I have a bolt on $25 L plan
