Slick product, mostly trouble-free
After approximately 9 months, no sign of any noticeable degradation or issues. I have a standard Apple case and the phone has had some minor drops. I treat my phone as a tool and don't go out of my may baby it.
Battery life compared to previous apple models is at least 50% better, because I game on two phones at once, I find the old iphone 6S (it has a new battery) generally reaches 10% battery life, while the Max still has 50% or more. This despite the fact I am running the wifi-hotspot on the Max.
Apart from lack of headphone socket, it ...Read more
is absolutely the best Apple device I have owned by a considerable margin. Early in the life of the phone I found the Data link would fail particularity when hot-spotting. The phone required a restart to fix. This seems to be very rare now since the last few software updates. So my advice is if you are happy with the restricted nature of the Apple system, judge the cost, size and weight for yourself in store, if happy don't wait. Save yourself the teething problems of a new model and get one of these devices now the software is sorted and the phone works well.Purchased in November 2021 at Apple Physical store.

Beautiful, functional & sleek
First of all, this phone is by far the most beautiful in my personal opinion. I was set on the XR in terms of functionality & camera qualities, however in store, I caught a glimpse of the store assistants XS Max as he got it out of his own pocket to show me, and I fell in love. The subtle gold colour for me was by far more pleasing to the eye than the more bold colours of the XR. So coming from the rose gold 6s, this was what initially took me in with this phone. Then the assistant explained to me other benefits, such as the sturdier materials ...Read more
of stainless steel as opposed to the aluminium, which just feels nicer in your hand, and also has a shinier, more sleek & premium feel. If you are that way inclined, as I realised I am ;) I also liked the massive 256G of storage I could get, so I never have to part with a photo or video again. All in all, the tech is great on this phone. I love the “screen time” stats I get each week. It has really helped me set realistic goals in terms of getting back to reality & putting my phone down more often each day. I would say, this feature has helped me develop a healthier relationship with my phone. Sounds strange, but it’s true. Finally, the larger screen size was also something I didn’t think I wanted, but after being in store & holding both the XS Max & the XR in my hands, the screen size of the XS Max just felt so right. I would recommend this phone highly to anyone. The only one downfall is the removal of the headphone jack. It means I can no longer travel in my car with the AV cord in to listen to Spotify & have my charger in as well. I have to have a seperate adapter and only have the audio, no charge. Thankfully though, the saving grace is that the battery life is built to last & handles even long distance travel of a full day, without going flat. I’m yet to splurge on the wireless headphones, but I guess that’s my next purchase. Clever work there Apple ;$ So, if beauty, functionality of camera, usage stats, and a sleek, premium feel are important features for you, then this may be your phone.Purchased in March 2021 at Apple Store Australia.

Love new phone...changed my life!
Researching my new iPhone, I used the Apple website! So easy to navigate and then make a decision. After reviewing the facts of each phone, I made the decision to purchase a XS Max! Yes, I chose the larger phone, based on storage, camera quality, a 'one stop shop device' for home and away! Reduced my stress immediately, chose the larger storage, now free to take as many photos at home and trips overseas. Apps for meditation, apps for paying bills, apps for producing state of the art photos. New puppy shot enabled me to fade the background, ge...Read more

As My First iPhone, A Revelation!
The camera is everything one could want, convenient with superb quality.
Once you get the hang of it, the phone is easy to use although it would be nice to have a printed manual.

Best IPhone I have owned
I purchased this IPhone as they said had the longest battery life, so far this is true, my previous IPhone 7 Plus would run out of life during the day. My new XS max last me all day long while browsing through social media and other apps. The quality of the camera is exceptional, very professional looking photos. The Face ID to unlock the phone is the best feature yet. The screen size is perfect compared to other previous IPhones. Overall I am very happy with this model.

Best iPhone to date
What a great update to an old favorite...
The new iPhone XS Max with the smart adaptive screen, incredible graphics and speed of system. This phone feels fantastic to hold light weight and solid construction with a full viewing screen. The camera is amazing and a massive improvement on the old cameras I have owned every iPhone since the first model and this is by far the most advanced yet.
I use the phone for business and run multiple business apps such as excel and word the phone handles the large work load without breaking a sweat. Apps run s...Read more

Great phone
Just like the other iPhones this iPhone is good. Not a fan of the back glass as I have already broken it from the smallest fall. Sturdy phone, I love the full screen and have had no issues with it after a year of owning it.

A good Phone but very Expensive
I would say it is a good phone with a very good camera. I love the photos I take from this phone but when compared with new Samsung phone, it seems to me that it is very expensive and also they have not added a lot of new features in it as compared to the old ones

Best. Phone. Ever.
This phone is amazing and I can’t imagine improving on it in any significant way. The battery life is fantastic and the download speeds are incredible. On top of that the phone is very well built and as long as you have a decent phone case you can’t break it with normal use. I have been using this phone as a personal hotspot and it has outperformed some wifi networks I have used so I’m really happy with it.

Great looking but fragile as glass
The XS takes great photos and has a terrific screen but don’t believe for a second that it is waster resistant or able to take any day to day knocks. It is as practical as glass and twice as fragile. And Apple will never fix anything under warranty despite the eye watering price. Cars are far more complex and come with 7 year warranties...Apple: All care, no responsibility. Avoid.

Love this phone. Amazing quality overall
Ease of use and range of apps is perfect
Screen is amazing and the phone just feels luxurious in your hands. Camera quality is amazing and printing from phone is so easy. I tend to upgrade phones yearly but unless something amazing comes along I’ll be sticking with this one for a long time

Better phone so far
Much better than previous models. A bit overpriced thou. Needs better features. Something that makes it worth $2000. But overall much prefer iPhones too Samsung. Because it’s more like a mini computer then a phone.
August 23rd 2022 Update: Don’t think it’s worth $2000
The design is nice. But I don’t think it’s worth $2000. Doesn’t seem to have much better features then the 7. Except battery last longer. Needs to have a bit more extra for the money value.

Costly phone- buyers beware!!
Extremely unsatisfied with the iPhone XS Max. It’s the worst phone I’ve ever had. They are extremely fragile. I haven’t had a broken screen for years. After a couple of months of having the new iPhone (in a cover with screen protectors front & back) I reached for my phone out of my handbag & the front screen was cracked! Called apple to book a repair & was quoted $518 to fix the front screen ONLY!! That is an absolute disgrace. It would not cost apple nowhere near 20% of the price to manufacture the part. I will definitely be switching to Samsung after this phone. I’ve had apple phones for 10+ years- No loyalty to long term customers. Buyers beware!!!

Finally a apple phone with great camera quality
When I was buying this phone I thought I was making a mistake since I was always fond of small handy phones, But this phone proved me wrong. I am in love with the big screen and camera quality, The camera literally takes HD images and I hardly even carry my Professional camera anymore. It is very smooth and I don't think I could ever replace it for any other phones.
