Domestic Express Post

My parcel still says "your parcel is coming" but has yet to be scanned at a processing facility. The sender has assured me it has been sent. I have rang customer support but have been told that until it is scanned they can't help me. This is an express post item which I should have received today. Can you please advise why there is no further tracking information?

Hi Lisa,

There's current delays due to the fires and weather we've had all month, unfortunately can affect mail nationally. It means tracking may be slow but we're delivering over the weekend and multiple times a day to some areas. If you don't receive this by today, I would recommend touching base with the sender to have them help look into it as we'd need to know the lodgement details to assist.

i understand Thereshigh volume and delays during Christmas but no one was willing to help and was giving me different answers (that the nezt person I spoke to couldnt confirm). Its a high value item too. Very very disappointed and frustrated with Australia post. My christmas has definitely been ruined from this experience and I doubt I can trust you guys again.

This has been my experience with Australia Post as well. They just go dark and there is no response. It's no secret that this is a busy time, but any normal business would provision for this. ie put on more staff.

Australia Post
Michael M.Australia Post

Hi Winnie & GnikWerdna,

We were prepared for Christmas (we do a hiring drive for casuals and support staff to boost our numbers quite a lot, usually with the prediction of a 30% or more rise in volume and we get more transport and contracts for aircraft to handle Express increases i.e in the contact centre we hired 250 new staff for the three months of Christmas), what we weren't prepared for was for state emergencies since October due to extreme weather and fires. While Melbourne has been avoiding the fire season, any delays interstate or for inbound international items through Sydney will cause backlog that when eventually released it will cause delays nationally and cause a hold up through the last mile facilities while they attempt to clear out the offload.

What we have done is got more fleets on the roads, more aircraft and support for the last mile deliveries today. We had to negotiate this and with the unpredictability on the situation in some states, it's been a tough year. Beyond any other year.

Can I grab the tracking number Winnie? Items travel in bulk, usually via a mail bag of a few hundred or a conveyor system of 30,000 so we can't always be exact on your item until it's manually handled in last mile. We'll take a look and advise further though.

Why doesnt Auspost update the tracking? I see when they receive it, and could be two weeks before they enter or update, its coming today!
WhaTs the point of having tracking numbers if you cant track it.

If you are receiving post it is up to the sender to give you this info (the tracking number) if the tracking number never came through it is possibly because the sender was lazy with forwarding this info as soon as received

Shane
Shane

This doesnt answer the question, I get the tracking number, after the sender sends it, its up to the Auspost to update the tracking. But that never happens, I have screenshots showing 2 weeks from Auspost receiving the package, and nothing til the day its delivered. Whats the point of tracking numbers? Is Auspost too lazy to update?

Australia Post
Priscila L.Australia Post

Hi Shane,

I am seeing quite a few parcels not receive any scans until the day of delivery, could be because of the high volumes and delays were experiencing right now so we're very the opposite to lazy right now! We've added thousands of casual staff and working overtime. In transit scans are not a guarantee and you may only see a scan at two points before the day of delivery. I replied to your other question too so feel free to let me know the tracking number if you want assistance.

I paid for a parcel to be sent road express and it took the same time as standard shipping after it having spent a week 'delayed' in Melbourne. I just paid extra for the standard service. It's happened twice. I used express because I was on a time frame and needed the goods in time, but unfortunately due to the substandard postal service I never got my parcel in time. Very disappointing.

There's no doubt that Black Fridays sales made us busier than ever been in history with 13 millions parcels in a network just this past Friday. We also were experiencing some delays due to storms and bush fires so our entire network was very busy. Can you please provide me both tracking numbers for express that were late? Are you the sender or receiver?

Domestic Express Post

Hi. On 29th August I contacted Aus Post online concerning an order of 10 packs 0f 10 Platinum Express post paks. Details below;

Enquiry details : Online Shop
Details : Ordered 10 packs of 10 platinum express post packs 23/8/19 cost as per invoice $1487.50
Received today 1 pack of 10 platinum express post packs.
value $161.50.
Short by about 90 platinum express post satchels
Contact Preference : Email
Order Number : 00629816

An easy enough mistake to make,no worries. Rang Aus Post to be told they would look into it. Finally after 20 minutes on the phone to someone, he admitted Aus Post had indeed made a mistake, but it would take 5 working days to sort it out. I told the gentleman that we were in need of the platinum express post paks asap and was informed that he would 'make it a priority'.
When they still hadn't arrived by the 9th September I logged on to Aus Post to find that case #27202339 had been 'resolved', regardless of the fact we were still short 90 platinum ex bags.
So sent another message 'have yet to receive them' on the 9th.
Again nothing on the 10th, no answer to my message from the 9th.
Again sent a message at 6.25pm
"Are they being sent the long way?
Or are they lost in transit?
So here I am wasting more of my time messaging Aus Post via a totally unrelated website except for the thousands of bad ratings and reviews because Aus Post cant be bothered to update us on when the rest of our "bought, paid for and prioritised" Platinum Express satchels will arrive.
"ALARM BELLS SHOULD BE RINGING".
I certainly hope the people we will be sending said satchels to wont have to wait as long for their prioritised express postage.

Incompetence at its best, simple customer placating with nothing real done in the background. Also penny pinchers who extoll customer service into the poor PDO yet if you do the job right you get talked to about being ‘too slow’ delivering and hence using overtime to complete your round. As I havent received any tracking # I must assume it is yet to be sent. Very express, its only taken 2 weeks so far to "NOT GET THEM".
And as we are out of the satchels that we bought in bulk, I am now forced to buy over the counter at the regular price.

I have been waiting for an item which was sent to me by express post on Tuesday. Should have been here on Wednesday. Now its Friday and the last tracking movement was to Chullora on Tuesday night. Not sure if this is a problem with the supplier labelling the parcel wrong, not paying the postage, or a total scam. Or is it just that Australia Post has not progressing the parcel. Really disappointed that my item didn't arrive. Can you please follow up tracking number 33Q395000283 and let me know whose fault this is. Thanks.

Hi Emily,

It's disappointing that your item has taken so long to arrive despite it being sent Express. I've taken a look at the tracking, it's arrived at Highgate today and is awaiting collection for you now. It was sent on the 6th and should have arrived the next day however it seems to have been delivered in our network, we did have some express delays in Adelaide last week so it seems this could be the reason why. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, please let the sender know they are entitled to a refund from us for the postage.

Hi Priscila, thank you for your answer. My EMS number is: EJ240727287AU, which was sent on 04/06 in Southport post office branch. It could be the way the article is sent to ACT for delivery. If by Air and as there are not as many flights going to Canberra as Sydney / Melbourne. This may account for it.

Hi Priscilla
The items have arrived but this is an ongoing trend. If the mail arrives late to Fyshwick Depot it stays there all day until the following days mail run.

Larger items sent to Parcel Locker at Canberra GPO will sometimes still get delivered late in the day.

I had an express letter delivered residential yesterday that got scanned the previous day at Fyshwick and not delivered.

A larger item did make it to the parcel locker by 5pm

That item was
60449978527096

The express letter that stayed at Fyshwick until the following day before being delivered to residential address

60307152240097

Both items were sent from Victoria NDD zone to Canberra NDD zone.

It’s really frustrating knowing it’s at Fyshwick but not going to be delivered

Hey Danial,

I know it's frustrating when something isn't delivered when you expected it to be.

Have you contacted the addressee about this to see if they have received it? Our Express Post letter service is an economical way to get your important documents from point A to B as quickly as possible but there is limited capability on the tracking of Express Post letter when a Signature on Delivery has not been purchased. If signature has been purchased you can contact us so we can investigate further for you.

That said if the scans haven't updated by the end of the week please contact the sender for further assistance. Due to the item being from another country only the sender can initiate the investigation with the postal agency they sent the item with.
