I booked travel insurance on the 17/10/17 with Australia Post. We are supposed to be flying out of Sydney on Friday 1/12/17 to Bali. Where do I stand please? I can also message policy number if required. We have paid for holiday package in full. Flights, Transfers and accommodation.
Kind Regards Melissah

We got the same policy which was rejected for no reason.
Australia post only pay 15% of claims. Most other have a 60-70% payout. Big difference!

Omg.... i wish i read the reviews before purchasing travel insurance from AUSPOST! I like most assume they would be a good choice cause they are AUSPOST and a trustworthy company. Now its day 1 of my Thai holiday and my new phone has been smashed somehow between the airport and arriving at our hotel. I have never claimed before, is my phone covered? Has this happened to anyone before if so how were they and was it a stressfree experience? Or should i just pay for it myself to get it fixed... fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong... regards Christopher
Not sure if you are covered, however based on our experience I would be skeptical, they don't seem to want to pay out on much at all, so don't hold your breath.

Hi Burgess81
I do wish you well & best of luck. Since posting my review, I am now facing a second "we will contact you in 10 days" after 2 further requests for more medical info. What I am being told by our GP & Specialist is that they will process small claims fairly quickly but when it comes to a large claim they will draw the process out as long as they can to avoid a payout and hope that the claimant will give up. Well not this one!!
I am now seeking legal advice and will not be recommending this travel insurance.
"ROXY" is a very "sit on the fence and don't take sides" employee of AUST POST isn't she?

I am planning a trip from Australia to Nepal before Christmas. After Christmas I will be travelling to fiji (which is only a few days after Christmas). I am concerned that I may get sick in Nepal from food poisoning etc which has happened to a friend in the past and will have to change my flights to Fiji for a later date. If i get sick in Nepal and return to Australia but have to postpone my Fiji trip will it be covered by insurance (cost of changing or cancelling flights)?

I cannot see anywhere on the International Comprehensive Travel Insurance site, that there is any cover for medical evacuation. Only that overseas hospital, medical, surgical, nursing, ambulance and emergency dental expenses are covered. I have checked the PDS as well. Can you please tell me if medical evacuation is covered?

What is the difference between the $6 per day policy and the Comprehensive International Single Trip. The price inshore for the $6pd was $172, for the online policy it is $196 with $100 excess and $224 with no excess for the same journey. Can you explain the difference please?

Having recently been stranded in Bali we made a claim with you. You paid the extra accommodation but not the extra days of meals we had to purchase. Please explain why you cover accommodation but not extra stuff like food? Very disheartening to be knocked back which will make me reconsider using you next time. Regards Geoff

They paid you accom, its bali meals are $2 .. gez people complain bout weird stuff, mind you others have had claims knocked back, and your unhappy bout a few dollars for meals.. like you said its "extra stuff" i do understand they should pay for meals but where would the extras stop? Should they pay for transport daily, entertainment, events since your there... look at it this way you got a few extre days for free pretty much, in bali AKA the western Sydney of indo. . Hope you have a safe trip
I'm trying to make an amendment to my travel insurance but have issues getting through your number, I stay on hold all the time with nobody on the other end answering.
I'd like to add cover for one valuable item of $2,000 that is going to be checked in luggage. Will this be covered?

I have completed a Domestic Travel Form to get an idea of how much travel insurance would be for a 3 Day cruise Melbourne to Melbourne, January for 2 adults. I entered 4 days taking in date of leaving & date of arriving back i.e. 8th Jan to 11th Jan - got the quote back as $74 - is there a minimum charge or how is this amount made up, as on a previous page, you still quote $6 per day = $48? Thanks, Marjorie
Hi Marjorie,
Lucky you planning a cruise! While I can’t advise you on quotes or prices here on Product Review, I can certainly point you in the right direction. Please call us on 1300 728 015 Monday to Friday (8am-7pm EST), Saturday (9am-4pm EST) and Sunday (10am-3pm EST).
