Poor Form Cover-More
Travel insurance policy purchased for a Turkey trip before pandemic threat came about. Absolute waste of money - we finally learn today our travel agent will only issue partial credit note for cancelled travel to be taken by July 2021/no refunds. We need to cancel this trip completely and expected some assistance from Cover-More as policy purchased in good faith - that it was of reasonable quality as per the price. my "travel plans had been messed up by this pandemic but even airlines were going broke" and pandemic is an exclusion to my cancellation policy. I could lodge a claim but she agreed that it would be rejected. Well then, Cover-More you should refund the policy premium in full as the policy is worthless. I have used Cover-More extensively for multiple international holidays and have never claimed for anything. I will never use this company again and will warn others not to use them either.

long time ago - negating the chance of getting a full refund. This has opened a lot of peoples eyes to the less than honourable actions of big companies. When the chips are down and people could really use some compassion and assistance it will not be forthcoming. Customer service is so utterly disappointing!!
Due to Covid-19, I no longer needed my insurance policy. After emailing CM on April 1st and an email reply promising a response in 2 day which never came, I emailed them again today, April 21. I also sat in a 'Chat Queue' for over 3 hours, only to be told the 15 day cooling off period had passed which is correct. Surely the cooling off period should no longer apply and a full refund or credit to the same value should apply? They offered a refund but withheld $65? The time taken for CM to respond is what I am most disappointed in. I have always used CM for travel insurance. Doubtful I will again.

Worst experience ever
Purchased a policy for my trip thinking I'll be covered to get a service for the money that I paid, The trip has been cancelled by the airline and they didn't give us an option for a full refund, thought thats fine as I have a travel insurance but it turns out Covermore does not cover anything.
After many emails and a long waiting on the phone and chat, they said you are not covered if the airline cancelled the trip, and not covered if I cancel it as well, but the policy clearly saying that I'm covered for the cancellation.
Just one of the worst experiences that I can tell if someone asks me
For the people who care about reading the reviews, I'm telling you that they should change the name from Covermore to Coverless, end of story.

Honeymoon Disaster - Thank Goodness for Covermore Assistance
Recently I was involved in a snow-skiing accident whilst on our honeymoon in Switzerland. This required helicopter rescue and transport to hospital, hospital care and emergency surgery, reorganisation of a travel plans and repatriation back to Australia. my medical progress whilst we were overseas. As a Doctor myself, I could not fault the care provided. Further to this Covermore quickly and efficiently organised return Business class flights for myself and my Husband to Australia, including assistance in the airport. Our claim / expenses quickly amounted to close to $30 000 AUD. Within 5 days of our return to Australia our claim was processed and paid in full. We were completely covered for all medical expenses and unexpected additional expenses (like extra accomodation) that we incurred overseas. The pre-paid expenses we could no longer use and needed to cancel were also covered in full - this included ski lift passes, car hire, accomodation, flights. We have been extremely impressed with the compassion and care that the various Covermore staff provided to us. The processing of our claim was efficient and fair. Covermore, thank you. We will certainly be lifelong customers of your travel insurance products whenever we choose to adventure in the future.1 comment

Claim Number - 9004798 - Long Delays and no help on expediting
It's been more than 20 days that I have submitted my claim to the company and still haven't got any outcome. They would request a new document and then takes the next 10 business days to respond. No help was provided over the phone as well. Can someone let us know if they faced a similar behavior?
We are claiming for the flights we missed due to the delay of our connecting flights. Can Cover More please help me to get this resolved?

Good cover
Simple to buy, and the only time we had to make a claim there was zero issue - they paid quickly and assisted us internationally. As a consequence we have rebooked our insurance with them 5 times now.

Long delays, poor customer experience
I have had several policies with this company & my annual policy still has a few months to run. Sign through my travel agent is easy.
I recently claimed cancellation costs after my father died on first day of our trip. The claim process started on 2/9 & final payment 15/2, despite the claim being very straightforward, there is also very fine print on saying you can’t claim cancellation and resumption of journey costs (We cancelled three weeks of the trip & returned for the final two weeks & have an unlimited policy) All information was provide...Read more

Iam a frequent Traveller, Overseas mainly, and Im inusred with Covet-Moore .. I visited different countries, and as it happened I feel sick .I paid all the bill with my Mastercard, got receipt I thought I needed, and when I got back home, made a Claim . Staff was most helpful and it was pointed out to me, I needee more detailed account, which took some time, but I was kept up to date re Claim, phone, mail .IN the end it was settled totaly to me satisfaction, and I can only recommend this Company . I myself sure willuse em in the future again

No hassle, quick turn around
We hired a car in Ireland just last month and decided against taking the additional car insurance with Budget rental as it was very expensive and we already had travel insurance with Cover-More. Unfortunately we had scratched the front bumper...one you would think would not cost much to repair...2 weeks later a $1000 bill had been removed from our credit card.
We easily used the Cover-More claims portal, popped in our car rental agreement, our bill and a few other details and within a week the $1000 was back in my account from Cover-More.
Moral of story, Use Cover-More for your insurance...dont rent from Budget.

Great insurance until you need to claim.
I have insured with Covermore for many years. We have never had any major claims, apart from some minor medical bills. Those were done without any issue. As such we have always been happy with it.
However, we have booked a trip to Hong Kong at the beginning of the year. I bought a premium insurance policy, specifically with cancellation cover. In the mean time, there was a riot and protest in Hong Kong.

circles! First, I spoke to the policy consultant. She said she is only in charge of policy and cannot answer any question whether a claim can be made. She said I must make a claim in order to get an answer. I said but I haven't cancelled yet? She said "just make a claim and then the claim consultant can tell you if you can claim and the worse they can do is knock you back!" I then made a claim and rang up again. The claim consultant said I have to wait 10 days before they can even see my claim. He cannot answer the question whether my policy allows me to claim. He said I need to speak to the policy consultant. I explained to him that I got sent by the policy consultant. He said, just pretend you haven't made a claim and inquired about the policy. When I got transferred to the policy consultant, she said, she has no idea about claim, and without surprise, she said, I must speak to the claim consultant!? I hang up. This seems a bit of a joke that an insurance company cannot even answer a question. I thought I am doing the right thing by inquiring first before cancelling my trip. My trip is getting closer and I can only sit here for 10 days and wait to see if I can get covered before I cancel and make other alternate arrangements.5 comments

Wow, could they be any more inefficient with claims processing?
I've used Cover-More 4 or 5 times in the past and till now never had to pursue a claim. Their online portal for purchasing a policy is efficient and they process your payment promptly and efficiently and send you through the policy letter right away... unfortunately that is where Cover-More's efficiency ends.
The 10 business day response to claims goes out to the last day.. then they will send you an email asking for more more information with another 10 business days response. Then another one with another 10 business days response, before ...Read more
you know it the claim has been months. When i call up and ask how we can speed this process up I'm met with "there are other claims in front of yours you know". I have used covermore insurance many times for overseas travel . On our last trip overseas I took out my cover paid my $2000 plus amount and was told it was fully comprehensive, and even if I wanted to cancel my trip a day before travel I would get all my money back . My brother had been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer a month before I booked my trip but was having treatment with a 3 -5 year outlook. I was given the ok by his doctors to go on my holiday . On my return I put in my claim for flights home and loss of 4 weeks planned holiday . No refund !!! Explanation, I had a family member with a pre existing condition!!! This was never explained!!! Apparently if you have a family member with any pre existing ailment and this can even be blood pressure and that person has a stroke, and you need to come home, you will not be covered !!! This is truly ridiculous!!! I could understand if I had a pre existing condition as I am the traveller but now you have to consider any family members as well ? Glad I can count on Covermore
I have a rare condition caused by a pituitary tumour and Covermore is one of the few that cover this.
On two occasions I have claimed with Covermore (but on something separate to my rare condition). The first being in 2015 where we were involved in a car accident in New Zealand. Injuries were incurred and they flew us and our companions home in business class and took care of us for the week of recovery in New Zealand. Claim for Urine infection whilst onboard Dawn Princess
I put the claim in to Cover-More on 13th Sept and on the 14th I had confirmation of a full refund on my medical claim that will be paid into my bank account with-in 3-5 working days. This was super quick.
