Also 4 months product wouldn't work as as purchased via Amazon it was a night mate to even return.
Will by something else now.

Expected a whole lot more
When we moved into our new home without carpet and needed a new vacuum we decided on the newly released Dyson V10 after doing some research. This is not your everyday vacuum, rather a handy tool for picking up toast crumbs after breakfast. It does that job just fine but for the thousand dollars it cost, a $20 cordless does the same job. Now after a year of ownership it is pretty much redundant as it wont do the handy jobs we brought it for like cleaning the car. It lasts less than 5 minutes on full charge on the max power setting which if the only setting that really picks up anything worthwhile. Now I feel like a real chump every time I look at he elephant in the room, thanks for nothing Mr Dyson - Don't believe the hype people.

Great cleaner and so easy to use
I purchased this cleaner a few weeks ago and just love it. Works really well on carpet and my hard floors and is light weight. Very easy to remove the wand. I hardly use my broom anymore, just reach for my vacuum.

Cost vs Longevity
This is a one year review, to hopefully help those make an informed decision about the longevity of this item.
I purchased this one year ago and within that time I have discovered many issues - the main being how quickly the turbine heads wear out and how you truly do need a back up vacuum.
We have all seen the ads, claiming to be as good as a corded vacuum - they come close if you can do your house in less than 6 minutes. If you cant, then expect to charge and re-charge multiple times a day just to do a full home thoroughly. Perfect for a ...Read more
quick clean up of light dust, but most certainly not for keeping a house clean especially when you have asthmatics in the house, you just do not get enough run time. The turbine head has worn out twice - the head has small plastic nubs in the end of the head that connect to small gears which turn the head. These plastic nubs wear down incredibly fast due to the heat the head produces from spinning - so hot it becomes untouchable. These heads are not cheap to replace, but one was covered under warranty. The second failed one week shy of the warranty. The canister on the V10 is very different to previous versions - and thats not a good thing. Anything like a rampant fruit loop or hidden LEGO under the couch become trapped inside the canister and you cannot remove them easily like the older version of the Dyson. It takes pliers, a lot of patience, a jug of coffee and an hour just to get it unblocked. The older versions did not have this problem. It also has moments of deciding not to run - you hold the trigger, the battery shows charge, but no go.Purchased in September 2021 at The Good Guys.

A complete waste of money
I purchased a Dyson V10 Absolute in December 2018 - I have never written a review before but each time I use the machine I get angry and today decided to vent my anger. The battery barley lasts 20 minutes on middle and low and if you use on high you are lucky to get 5 minutes - I have cats and need to use on high in some rooms to pick up hair so I am constantly having to recharge the unit so a normal house clean takes ages. If not recharging the battery I am cleaning the filter which happens approximately every 3rd use.
To be fair the unit does a good job and is easy to use however if I was aware of the limitations of the machine I would not have spent over $900
Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys for $949.00.

Hardwood downstairs and carpet upstairs. It performs great but needs to be on high power for hard surface. It works fine just that it would have been nice if the battery life was bit more.

Great for a month and welcome to customer service complaints-
This was an excellent vacuum for a month. I decided that an hour charge was better than the previous Dyson I had.
I purchased the extra warranty at Myers - big mistake
It stopped working
The head doesn’t spin
They asked as to send it in
Worked for a few months
Again
Same problem /. It’s covered under warranty but they don’t replace just fix
Terrible vacuum- don’t buy it

A sticky situation.
Bought the V10 in May 2018 and was easy to use at first on our hard floors and our Triexta carpets upstairs in our house in Brisbane. When the following summer arrived it became impossible to push it on the carpet even on lowest setting. I figured the only condition that changed was the onset of our high humidity summer so we ended up having to turn on the ducted air conditioner for at least two hours prior which helped a bit. I also had to keep removing the sticky residue build-up on the vacuum head's lower surface which must have been coming ...Read more
off the carpet so no fault of Dyson's. As it became expensive to run the a/c every vacuuming day (which we rarely use in our seaside suburb home) I solved the problem by applying easy glide Teflon coated nylon adhesive tape to the underside of the head. Just wondering if Dyson has come across this problem before and if it can be rectified during manufacture.Purchased in May 2021 at Myer Retail Stores for $999.00.

Hopeless on hard floors! Expensive yet still can't effectively vaccum hard floors.
Hopeless on hard floors. Regardless of what vaccum head attachment you use. Regardless of whether the filter is clean or not. Even small objects like bits of paper or small cat biscuits often don't get sucked up.
The only attachment that works well is the one designed for carpet. The rest are ineffective and just clutter up your cupboard.

Effective and lightweight.
Have used it for our 3 bedroom house and usually needs to be charged halfway through, otherwise it’s hard to fault. Picks up everything we have attempted to clean, release mechanism on tray keeps mess to a minimum. Comes with 8 attachments but I use only two. I use the same attachment for carpet and floorboards and don’t seem to have any issues with suction or cleaning. I really like the filter setup, it clicks in and out but when it’s dirty you flush the water through and the material goes from a dust covered surface to reveal a tap icon when ...Read more

Great, but could be improved.
I bought the Dyson V10 Absolute+ a little over a year ago to replace my previous barrel Dyson. As usual, Dyson's vacuuming power is fantastic. It took me a while to get used to the stick type of vacuuming, and I have a bad back, but after a half dozen goes I've mastered how to manoeuvre it. I use this on floorboards, tile, and a rug that never seems to stop shedding, two or three times a week, as we have four cats and a fireplace that get hair and dust every where.
Pros:
-Great suction

nserve your run time we'd suggest using the lowest power mode on hard floor, the medium mode on carpet and the Max power mode for quick spot cleaning on ground in dirt. Check out our power mode video guide here:I use the #2 setting for the main sections of floor and rugs, as that seems to work best. Any furniture or soft furnishings get the lowest setting.

Thank you for being invented!
We use the amazing Dyson V10 Absolute+ on tiles, carpets and rugs; with a quick change of the head for optimal cleaning, it quickly changes the room from "oh dear!" to "oh Yeah!". I have a neck injury which limits the time I can vacuum but 15 minute intervals is great and the Dyson is so easy and flexible to use wherever I need to. This version sees the emptying of the dust compartment sooo easy, complete, and quick. The extra suction is a-maz-ing for long hair, pet hair, and fluff/lint. I LOVE this cleaner <3
This Dyson V10 Absolute+ is so awesome even our grown up kids think it's "fun" to use... way to go Dyson! LOL :-)

I have laminate planks, tiles and carpet in our home, so I purchased the absolute Dyson V10! I love all the attachments it comes with, so easy to quickly change them out for each surface you are cleaning at the time! The suction is amazing and I love the size of the barrel!
I’m also very impressed with the battery life in comparison to my old V6!
The stick is light weight and easy to use! I love that it’s cordless so I can spot clean and pick up dust bunnies around the house super fast.

Great idea but an imperfect execution
We received the Dyson v10 as a house warming gift. It was our first experience of owning a portable unit. By then we had been the proud owners of two Miele vacuum cleaners. We have been using the v10 for over a year and here are our impressions.
Pros
Relatively light weight.
No wires to manage.
Versatile and can go in to smaller spaces.
Three settings for differing levels of suction and battery utilisation.
High quality material including the cleaning heads and accessories.
We received the gorgeous stand that holds the V10 and its accessories in a compact way....Read more

Convenient for fast clean ups
V10 is super portable and cleans both carpet and tiles easily. Different suction setting allows you to save power when cleaning tiles and can be set on a super powerful setting a deep cleaning of carpet.
Use of different settings determine battery longevity. The v 10 has a longer lasting battery than previous models. Excellent value compared to the current v11. Super happy with my purchase.

Long term review
I received my v10 Absolute plus as a test review unit from Dyson over a year ago. After a year of using this primarily on high pile carpets and hard floors, it continues to deliver the goods. Even on the lowest suction setting, I am continually surprised at how much dust it picks up on hard floors and carpets. On higher suction levels, of course battery life reduces substantially but I do pick up more dust, particularly from our carpeted areas.
Now, if I compare this to our Dyson Big Ball Cinetic, the Cinetic picks up more dust generally speak...Read more
ing but the cordless convenience of the v10 Cyclone versus needing to plug in the Cinetic makes it infinitely more usable. Over the last year, we have vacuumed more often than when we had to bring out the Cinetic and plug it in. Charging times are also very good (usually around 2 to 2.5 hours for a full charge).Purchased in April 2021.

Great product, wish I had waited until it was redeveloped
I use this on both carpet and hard floors, and it is brilliant and convenient to use on both. However, every three uses, I have to dismantle it, wash the filter, and let it dry for 24 hours before it can be used again. In my opinion, that is a massive flaw in an otherwise excellent piece of equipment. Additionally it is a little fiddly to dismantle and rebuild, so having to do it so frequently is an annoyance

How long is the battery expectancy of the V10 compared to the V8?
2 answers
I do not about the V8 but Dyson told me, that the battery should last many years and by then a replacement battery should be available.
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Batteries are a consumable item which suffer wear and tear through usage, therefore will eventally need to be replaced. The factors affect the battery longevity which varies amongst users and therefore we can't provide an expected life of the battery.
