I am converted. A proper battery powered vacuum is incredible. The ease of use and speed I can clean the house is amazing. We primarily use this on hardwood floors ad the motor heads works pretty well. On occasion is does kick the dirt around a bit but switching it to Max mode make easy work of this.
We use is on thick woolen carpet as well in our bedrooms and the amount of dust it sucks up is pretty scary considering the floors look clean.
This is so portable, I would highly recommend!!

Battery has problem do not be amused by the brand
This is the second Dyson vacuum I have purchased.
First one is V6 slim, and the battery couldn't be re-charge after a year, as I counldn't find the receipt, so I didn't chase for the warrantee, I thought that might be a coincidence.
Then I purchased the V7 7 months ago basicaly for clean insdie of my car. Now the battery couldn't re-charge again, the Customer Care line so hard to get through, and they only make the procedure harder and I have lost the trust of this "famous' Brand.

Thanks for your concern. After a long waiting a few complicated phone calls, Dyson has send a new battery for my V7. Let's see how long would this time the battery last.

Very convenient and works well on hard floors
Because we have hard floors throughout our place, I thought we would go for the convenience of a cord free vacuum. The Dyson V7 has not disappointed us, picking up everything on the floor, and the run time on battery is sufficient for doing the whole place.
My hand does get a bit tired though as the weight of the vacuum sits in the part you are holding on to, as opposed to a barrel vacuum where the part you are holding on to is very light.
I can definitely tell it isn't as powerful as our Miele barrel vacuum, but for hard floors it's perfect.

Great vacuum cleaner, terrible battery life
The Dyson V7 Cord free vaccum cleaner is great. It sucks up everything, even the tiniest crumbs. It even suck up all the dog hair sheddings on our carpet. Only bad side is the battery life, but if you have a small apartment it's fine, otherwise you'll need a few charges to get a big house done.

Perfect for our apartment
Vacuuming was always a chore, but having the V7 has made it a breeze. The batter life is more than sufficient for a one-bedroom apartment and does fairly well on all surfaces.

Amazing and it changed my life
I’m not going to disagree that this vacuum is expensive! But this machine has truly changed my life. It has made vacuuming an absolute pleasure. It has made me enjoy cleaning! Thanks to its rolling brush, it picks up everything perfectly at the first pass on carpet. However it should be noted that it doesn’t do as well on tiles as dirt gets kicked about. The soft roller should work better. I live in a one bedroom and I never had a problem with the battery run out on me before — and I am a very thorough person when cleaning. I’ll clean the entire house including vacuuming the bed.

I have given 1 star as unable to give 0 star! batteries rubbish and keep blocking known fault
The batteries are terrible, will not hold power or charge. they keep blocking. I cannot clean a 3x3mtr room without either blockage or battery issue. When we put on charge the blue light turns on then goes off after 5 mins and stops charging.
Finally they have a 12 month REPAIR ONLY guarantee. It does NOT pay to purchase better quality as if it breaks you are without product while its fixed. Who can go without a vacuum for more than a week???

pair as warranty is repair no replace... I joked with them as I had one that needed bringing back also. I had spoken to the good guys where I bought mine and they advised they had had lots of issues with battery. I finally took mine back as it was impossible to use and yep repair only not replace. as a long time lover of the original Dyson, I will never buy another one. Please note that when I checked out the warranty issue at the good guys they do instant replacement for goods under $250. My "better quality" dyson cost me $330. the pain and issues and time I now have to go without a vacuum means I was very foolish to consider spending over $250 for a "better quality" product. From now on I will not be spending more than $250 on small white goods ever again!!! its not worth it. I have 2 children work full time and only get chance to do the jobs at the weekend. I was told I could get my vacuum "fixed" in 15 mins if I take it to coopers plains in QLD. They are open Monday to Friday 9-5pm... when I am working!! So I have had to give my vacuum to good guys to send off with no fix date! So far I have not been able to clean my house in over a week and no signs of being able to do so without begging to neighbours to borrow theirs (they are away!)Similar opinion? I am surprised that it is enough
When I bought this I was worried about how small the collection container and size would be an issue. I was so wrong. I find that because it is so portable and easy to use, I grab it more often and therefore there is less of a need to do a big vacuum. I doubt I will ever go back to corded.

Better than V6, I love V7, Easy to empty bin
Pro:
- Very easy to empty bin, large improvement to V6
- Reasonable battery life on normal mode
- Clean dirty better than my big and heavy cord traditional 2000w vacuum
Con:
- Battery still not good on Max mode
- Could be better if they have hybrid option, like can plug in for Max mode.

Very good suction
We have slate tiles at home, for those of you who don’t know they’re bumpy. And the Dyson works very well in getting everything off the floor. The battery life when not on charge is pretty good. Not enough to do the whole house. But enough to do an average living room and possibly 2 bedrooms. It’s easy to charge and charges fairly quickly. It’s lasted us about 3 years and still working well

Can’t live without
The Dyson hand held is a must have it works great on all flour types, can be used to clean out the car with ease. I use it on my mattress (omg couldn’t believe what I was sleeping on) and even used to do the corners (cobwebs) I also do the wall fans in my bathroom, which I don’t have to take the cover off any more it works on everything. I can do my whole house (3b’room)on one charge it works that good without the boost button that I don’t often need it. My 4 & 6 year old grab it off the wall and love to clean up there own mess yeah!!!

Brilliant!!!!
Bought on special for $399
Hands down the best value for money you will get.
I am a fan of dyson products as they have proven to be very high quality and high continuity of service.
We had the v6 previously and this model is much better again. (V6 is still going well after many years - but is now used downstairs)
Suction is better, the dust bin empty system is a FAR superior design to the v6, it’s far quieter then the v6. More ergonomic, and the agitator head is MUCH better then the previous model v6.

Not Sure The $$ Is Worth It
We use our Dyson every day, love the convenience of cordless cleaning, decent suction and great swivel head. More expensive than other brands with similar features yet the battery has been replaced three times now and that’s not cheap either. Purchased for longevity however I’m not sure we’ll buy again as the lifespan isn’t near what we expected v the initial outlay and battery replacement costs. Not up there with value for money unfortunately.

Good but
Easy to use in rooms and especially in cars. It's not heavy. Tried on all surfaces - tiles, carpet, laminate - all good. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.
The only thing I don't like very much is how long the charge lasts. I have to stop in the middle of cleaning, charge it and then continue.

Great purchase
It’s been a great purchase so far! Quick, good suction and the whole family can use it. My 11 year old and 8 year old now enjoy helping clean! Surfaces used on - tiles, carpet wood. Only negative is how long the charge lasts for as I usually can’t make it around the whole house.

Convenient, but not a replacement for a full sized vacuum cleaner
Great for the car, and maybe a few rooms of the house.
This is used on a combination of wood, carpets and rugs.
Unfortunately, it has a small capacity and fills after each room. It is however, very easy to empty.
I think it's a great tool to supplement the full sized vacuum and has made some areas of the house much easier to clean, but not a replacement.

Hello
I just wanted to check that like the V7 Animal, the V7 Cord-Free can be left in the charging station all the time without damaging the battery?
Thanks!

All Dyson V7 machines have smart electronics within the machine, battery and charger to ensure they won't overcharge.
It is recommended you leave the machine on charge when not in use, even if you haven't fully used the battery. This will ensure it is always ready for your next cleaning session. The electronics in the machine will ensure the battery charges to 100%, but not over.
We hope this helps, however if you have any further queries, please feel free to reach out to our Dyson Experts via [email protected].

Hi
What is the length of the charging cord (what maximum distance between wall mount and power point)?
Cheers
Paul
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
The charger cord for the V7 is approximately 1.8 metres long. That being said, to secure the charger to the wall mount, approximately 45 centimetres of the charger cord is woven through the back of the wall mount.
We hope this helps, however if we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

Why do the batteries keep dying ?
4 answers
Because of the high power, it uses the battery quite quick .
No, its because they have a major problem with the batteries that so far to date will not do a product recall on them.
Dyson Team ..Dyson
While the batteries of Dyson machines are considered consumable items, we wouldn't expect them to require regular replacement.
