VIC, Taylors LakesBought bed frame & mattress at VIP sale night. Customer service was convincing on that night but everything that followed was a frustration. The bed frame (delivered after a month) was flimsy and had holes in the wood of the bedhead. When we came back and asked the staff about this they said it was the design, but this wasn’t explained to us on VIP night and the bedhead on the display was smooth and had no holes. When we asked if we could have a refund they said they could only give a 75% refund (they keep 25%) as per policy, policy/ fine print

They said it would be delivered in about a week but it’s been 2 weeks and we have heard nothing from them. No courtesy calls, no contact. No efforts to have us return as mildy satisfied customers. Went into the watergardens store to upgrade to a king from a queen. The service we received from Hannah and was fantastic. She really knows her stuff and all the ins and outs about mattresses. She didnt try and push a certain brand onto us, and spent a lot of time explaining all we needed to know. I ended up purchasing not only a mattress but also a new base and header board. The guys on delivery were also great. They gave a 2 hour window for delivery and turned up on time, and were very friendly.
4 weeks later(today) I needed 2 king singles for my kids. I went straight back to Hannah. Hannah gives 110% .. Ill be back again and again

We were meet by a lovely lady named Nathalie she was so help full and showed us a large range to choose from. She did not put and pressure on us to pick which one. He told me it will come into the factort mid week and will be delivered on Saturday. I was in the meantime looking up reviews on the mattress etc and got quite nervous by people feedback. Now I never ordered anything custom made to which he answered king single is a special size we make to order. We are taking about a mattress store and a very standard size! After an hour of arguing and him swearing and getting abusive I was forced to pay the 25% and leave. VIC, FrankstonPurchased a mattress and bed at the Frankston store. Lisa kept us up to date from the warehouse on delivery and was very cheerful and friendly on the phone. The delivery guys were punctual and called when 30 minutes away - again very cheerful and all smiles. We had an issue with the mattress which was not Forty Wink's fault. Bianca from the store went above and beyond to find a solution for us which was found on the same morning I called. Tremendously impressed with Bianca and I know where I'll be buying all my future beds from. What really stood out was that every person I dealt with was friendly, understanding and professional.

VIC, FrankstonPurchased the Venetian Medium Mattress, the Corfu Bedhead with matching Base from [name removed] at Forty Winks in Frankston. [name removed] experience in the industry was invaluable when it came to combining the varying needs of both myself and husband, as we both tested several different types of mattresses at leasure. I'm happy to say, we made a good choice regarding our bed.
As much as I'd like to give Forty Winks 5 stars, the men that delivered the mattress and bed were two of the freakiest dudes to ever enter my home with regards to their lack of personal hygiene, manners and a blatant carelessness when manoeuvring the items into the bedroom. They were scary enough to shop elsewhere next time.

Very Poor Service - Don't Care
VIC, NunawadingThe salesperson kept walking off when I was asking about the bed, and after purchasing it was told to go to warehouse to pick it up or $65 delivery. The warehouse guy had loud music on and locked the door, so I had to shout to get his attention from the loading bay. Basically threw my bed down and walked off. Pathetic service.

Abysmal Service
VIC, FrankstonCan't really comment on the service because we didn't receive any.
We went into the store looking to buy a new mattress but after wandering around for 10 minutes and none of the staff showing any interest in us (there was only one other customer in the store) we left to go across the carpark to see what Snooze or Harvey Norman had to offer.
En route we found Regal Mattress Solutions (which we'd never heard of) and were well looked after. We never did make it to Snooze or HN.
Removal
VIC, NorthlandI was promised that after having to pay an extra $180 for them to set up my bedroom furniture including placing the mattress that they'd at least remove the previous mattress (but not the previous furniture they affirmed) and not only did they not remove the mattress they left all the cardboard from the new furniture behind. There were two other witnesses present (my brother and my boyfriend) when Forty Winks specifically said 'We do not remove bedframes or other old furniture since they're harder to disposal, but we will remove the old mattress.' Throughout the process of them setting up and me trying to figure out a way of solving this issue, I called the store and they provided me with a number I could call if I 'wished' to remove the mattress. I called, no answer, left a message. Been waiting for two hours now, exploring other efficient and quicker options that will cost me a fortune since I'm too embarrassed to leave rubbish in front of my house for every other neighbour to see, and leaving it in the backyard isn't an option since I've got dogs that could either make a bigger mess or as well as making a bigger mess they could swallow pieces of furniture/cardboard/mattress and I am not willing to on top of everything spend on vets just because you couldn't provide me with a solution.Hi Dani,

VIC, NorthlandPurchase mattress from northland preston store before 1 year with 5 years guarantee.
I have got some issues with mattress now and they are asking us to sort it out with the manufacturers directly and manufacturers are asking to pay $70 +GST one way transport fees to inspect the mattress.
This was never ever informed to us at the time of selling the mattress.
The behaviour of the employees at the store was also insulting when my wife tried to contact them in regards to our comolaint.
Its been 4 weeks now - we have made complaint - we haven't heard back yet from anyone.
Worst experience ever.
5 star experience at DFO southwarf
VIC, South WharfMy wife wanted a new bed and mattress for our new home which was under construction. We visited DFO southwarf Forty Winks in december and booked a bed and seally posturepedic mattress to deliver in May. Paid 30% deposit and cleared the rest before deivery. I really liked that option. Cam was excellent in customer service and he promised for call backs and he did call back for a request to raise the bedhead. We found the staff warm, welcoming and willing to help. Especially CAM. VIC, NorthlandDon't fall for this buy one get one free rubbish. After feeling pressured by a very pushy salesman I bought a mattress and base for 4000.00 and I got a king single mattress free. Then when I realised how expensive that actually was and started feeling buyers remorse I rang 2 days later and 2 different and very bully like men told me 'tough, if you want to cancel there is a 25% cancelation fee' even though I am not getting my goods for 3 months. This stores salespeople are rude and arrogant and have no understanding for customers, it's just product turnover. Shop around people, even with their so called 'sales' they are so overly expensive and the store a few doors down from them are much cheaper for better quality and not running sales!!

Bunk bed delay over 40 days !
VIC, NunawadingI recently purchase a bunk bed at Nunawading forty winks. That is the worse shopping experience I had in my life! I have been waiting for 40 days and I still waiting for my bunk bed to deliver. I have been chase up my order 5 times and no one gives a damn concern about that even the store manager! The store manager even told me she doesn't care about what I said and that is not her problem! What a ridiculous!

VIC, NunawadingBrought a bunkbed with no sample display. Installed the following day and realised bottom was very low after putting a matress on around 50cm bottom to top. Kid have problems knocking head from the top. Requesting to return and pay extra for a better bunkbed but returning fee charge 25 % applied with no negotiation because it's their terms and conditions and also no discount for upgrade. What type of service is that? Don't go there ever again.

Heavenly sleep
VIC, NunawadingAfter visiting several bedding stores, we settled on Forty Winks to replace our old mattress. Karen was a competent sales person, who knew what she was talking about. We were shown several mattresses within our price range, and settled on a Crown Luna Dream Medium, (which has a cushioned layer on top of the mattress.) Our first night's sleep on it was heavenly. We had forgotten what it was like to sleep on a comfortable bed! The only discount we received though was free delivery.

VIC, ElthamThere is a lot of guess work, online research and big mark ups when it comes to buying a new bed / mattress. Today we went down to Forty Winks in Eltham and were greeted by Greg. He was great, took into account all of our needs and with the 40 hour sale bundled everything together at a great price for an amazing set. I looked online for ages but nothing beats trying the mattresses out having an honest chat and both parties walking away happy. Thanks Greg and Forty Winks, looking forward to our new cloud arriving soon.

Very Bad Company
VIC, ElthamI was sold a very expensive Tempura mattress and after 18 months I was suffering back pain and extreme discomfort. When I asked the store what the problem was they referred me to Tempura who immediately asked the type of base it was on, which is an innerspring base, they replied that was completely wrong and it must be on a slatted base, and quote "said that is the same as sleeping in a Hammock". The store should never had sold the mattress knowing it was being used on a innerspring base. The mattress is now not covered under the warranty as it

Of course they should have known this in the first place and deny responsibility for not advising that a Tempura mattress must have a slatted base. The least they should do is supply a base for free. When I contacted Forty Winks head office they promised to have a manager call me back in a few days to address the problem, that was six weeks ago. They wanted me to pay $300 for pick up and deliver it back but they wouls only refermish it not replace it. Sales men gave me his word they would swap over to problem. we were told delivery would be 1-2 weeks which was perfect because we needed the bunk in 3 weeks.
2 and 1/2 weeks went by with no word from Forty Winks, my husband called them, to be told its actually going to be another 3 weeks before delivery, they hope....
We did end up getting a refund after an argument, which was better than nothing, but the promised bunk bed for our daughter was not going to happen.
If they had just been honest from the start we would have been able to source another product from another store.
Anything to get a sale!!!!!

Went to sales counter to get a price and first woman i spoke to palmed me off to another woman who looked quite displeased to have to actually serve me. Asked for price. She gave me a estimate and not much else in the way of being welcoming or polite or even trying to sell it to me.
My partner and I decided to go ahead and purchase. Once again, customer service was crap. We paid on spot. It was a Sunday and we arranged delivery for following Wednesday as we were told they were in stock
Scum of the earth
VIC, South WharfMy wife suffers from neck pain when she wakes up, and is always trying to find a more comfortable pillow. She tried a Tempur pillow at the Forty Winks stand at the home show and liked it. We bought two, for $387, but when we got home we realised that we had been sold a different model to the one we had tried at the home show. The pillows were much thicker, harder and heavier. We took them back to the South Wharf Forty Winks store as per the card that the salesman had given us when we bought the pillows, to try and exchange them for the same model we thought we were buying, but were refused. Never deal with these thieves.

VIC, FitzroyI had a serious accident two years ago which left my right side of my body in constant pain and a broken spine which I still need physio for. I went into my local forty winks store and was helped by the staff there who were excellent on giving advice for what I needed. We spent over an hour going through mattresses and ended up buying a mattress which I upsized to a queen mattress and only had to pay the price of a single mattress. Happy chappy!
