I have disappointed with the customer service, they don’t have no information about their products and I will never go back there and perches anything from them, they could not solve my problem and didn’t care about their costume, and I have been purchasing 33 years from them but could not help me. So disappointed and disgusted with them.
Extremely unhappy with service, bought a new sound bar, was talked into buying the best, within a couple of weeks the item was faulty and returned, we were chasing the item weekly for 6 weeks with no answers, and no offer of compensation or apology just excuses and playing the blame game, left a review on harvey Norman, was phoned minutes later and abruptly told to come and get a refund today, asked if we could have it exchanged, and was told no just come and get your refund.
The store was rude, and abrupt and after 6 weeks of having not had the item we purchased we are back to where we started with no compensation or even an apology. Stay away from Harvey Norman Bairnsdale
I went into the QV store today to get the $149 it was on the shelf asked a sales person about it was told it's not in stock just wasted my day
How about taking it off the shelf never will be shopping here again
Harvey Norman has surprised me with their terrible review record online and my really bad experience today with [Name Removed] in the Electronics Dept. who seemed to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. I ended up spending about 30 mins waiting for a refund to be sorted out while juggling my 2 x toddlers... he advised he needed to get a refund from their supplier before processing mine. I said I purchased from Harvey Norman, so why does the supplier giving you a refund have anything to do with me. He ended up having some smart remarks like "wh...
Read morey didn't you just purchase from the supplier" and "you can complain to Gerry Harvey". I ended the conversation that was going nowhere and asked to speak with the Manager who he said wasn't on shift but wasn't able to tell me their name because it was private (so strange). One of the other staff happily provided the manager's name and advised when they would be back in. Hopefully I have a more productive conversation and experience with [Name Removed] (the Manager of the Karratha Store).Find out how Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics compares to other Electronics & Computing Shops

After purchasing a new pc and printer I also paid for my old pc to get cleared, updated, and fixed all went well till pick up when the serviceman tripped and smashed my computer to pieces in front of me. Then I had to deal with Greedy horrible Harvey Norman Nowra computer section owner. He proceeded to offer me a used computer from his photo lab which had been decommissioned due to renovation and upgrade. After much debate back and forth he basically said like it or lump it, so I accepted his offer hoping it was in good faith, the first mistake...
Read more. We asked for some kind of in-store warranty the answer was no. To cut a long story short after turning it on twice and this was also during covid lockdown it blew up. I took it back to Harvey Norman Nowra it was assessed and if I was told if I wanted it repaired the owner said I would have to pay for the part the shipping and the repair. I have purchased a lot from this store and a lot from the computer section of this store I will never shop there again!- 4 reviews

I am so sick of spending thousands of $$ on essential appliances and electrics (eg fridge, dishwasher, washing machine) for them to only last a couple of years. Basically forced to purchase the extended warranty for peace of mind which is ridiculously overpriced and costs 30% or more of the actual item price. Shouldn't have to pay that amount of money just to ensure a $1000++ purchase lasts more than 1-2 years.

March 2021.
I bought a computer monitor online and paid for delivery as I am on crutches. (Apparently the Maribyrnong store is the only one I can return it to which is an hour drive)
I set it up and it has a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I called the store asking if they can deliver another and swap it as I paid for delivery and can't physically come in. They said no, ok fine that's understandable.
The guy said just bring it in and we'll swap it on the spot no issues.
2 weeks later when I can finally drive again but explained it's v...
Read moreery tricky for me to travel, I was about to drive my wife who doesn't drive and she would carry the monitor in and swap it. Lucky I called to check if they had stock! They said no you have to bring it in and they'll send it away for 1 week to get analysed and then I have to come back a week later to get my refund or replacement. I said as well as being without my monitor for a week I use for work, multiple trips are just too much for me after my operation and please help me and find a way for me to make the trip just the once, they said no they can't help and the process is their process. I guess I'm keeping the monitor with the dead pixel...... Not buying Harvey Norman again

Disgusting and foul customer support from both behind the counter and online. The only thing that is reliable is that across the board they have appalling attitudes and are scammers.
I handed my phone back to Harvey Norman after a year and two months. The phone had a broken LED screen which I checked at a different store, which they recommended us to return it to for a warranty repair.
I handed my phone in and after 1 hour I returned and was told to wait for a phone call. 1 week later I phoned them and was told that have not touched the phon...

In the course of purchasing a computer & other items (>$1000) at a store in Brisbane’s south, the salesman asked if I needed to review my Optus plan. I advised that I paid a total of $69 per month ($55 plan + $14 insurance). He advised that he could save me $10 per month & get me an extra 20GB, and I’d only pay $59 per month. I now find that I have been ‘signed up’ (I have never seen a written contract let alone signed one) to a $73 per month plan, because he very conveniently failed to tell me that the $59 per month & ‘saving’ of $10 per month...
Read more excluded the $14 insurance. I was clearly lied to & my attempts to hold both Harvey Norman (via Brad the store manager) & Optus (via Thomas the customer service expert in Adelaide) were met with ‘can’t’, ‘you need to’ & ‘it's not our fault’, even though several times during discussions with Brad of Harvey Norman he admitted that his salesperson had ‘stuffed up’, said he intended to ‘give him a big kick up the pants’ & agreed that the salesperson’s behaviour was ‘very naughty’. I am left out of pocket & left with no option but to spend even more time & energy fixing the serious ‘mistakes’ of those to whom I have paid considerable amounts of money recently & over the years. Absolutely disgusting conduct.- 9 reviews
Sales staff too busy upselling wrong products and forgot to book installation. Charged $300!!!!
Possibly the worst and most frustrating customer service sales experience I've ever had. Purchased a TV, staff member so focused on upselling, sold me incorrect wall mount for the size TV. Booked installation, but because he was too busy upselling and imparting knowledge forgot to Submit install booking but told us it was confirmed! Waited all day for install guys, no show, called Harvey norman.... consequently had not been booked at all. Lost a day's contract income and work. Had to reschedule and lost another lot of income and work. Barely an...
Read more apology and still charged $300 for the install and inconvenience!! Don't try resolving because communication is poor and they don't care. Also don't buy a Samsung Smart TV, they switch on and off whenever they like! If you get a wall mount makes sure it's suitable to accommodate the inputs on tv.Find out how Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics compares to other Electronics & Computing Shops

Went to Harvey Norman Gympie qld to buy desktop pc and monitor, but when I tried to pay, they told me they would need my phone number. I told them I did not have it with me and don’t know my number. Then I could not believe what he said. He could not sell me the pc with out a phone number, I offered driving licence, Medicare card, credit card or cash and offered to go out to my car to get my passport and he still said no. I went and asked another member of staff if this was true or had that assistant had a malfunction and he said sorry I don’t work in that department. Maybe I had a lucky escape because we hadn’t even got to the warranty and surge protector.

Never felt threatened in a retail store before. Been a loyal customer of Harvey Norman for 25 years and more recently in the past few months bought a Sony OLED, washing machine and Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Out of loyalty went into the Harvey Norman Maribyrnong store to buy some smaller electronics ($300 worth) knowing they would price match against competitors such as Officeworks under their advertised price guarantee and was meet with a barrage of excuses and reasons from different staff members not to honour it. Then asked to speak to manager ...

He threatened to get security using further verbal and physically intimidating tactics to purchase the items. As we began to leave he “escorted us out” like we criminals. Our upcoming intent to purchase a full Sonos home theatre system and sound bar and HP spectre laptop (about $6000-$7000 worth ) will be going elsewhere.- 2 reviews

Refused to provide a refund for a falsely advertised item
My partner bought me a digital photo frame as a Christmas present. Come to find that the frame doesn't read USB flash drives over 64Gb, which was not stated anywhere on the product. Harvey Norman (HN) refused to offer a refund. Their claim was because there was nothing wrong with the product in their view, they could not send it back to the manufacturer, and because they had no box for it they couldn't resell it either.
My partner bought from HN specifically for the convenience of being able to sort out issues such as these in person, as oppos...
Read moreed to dealing with online retailers with offshore customer service centres and postages, which were cheaper. But having gone through this experience we have no incentive to go back to HN -- we'll just buy online for cheaper and receive the same (if not better) customer service. You would expect a bricks and mortar retailer with stiff online competition to take a small loss in order to keep a customer, prevent them from posting negative reviews on the internet and prevent them from sharing their experience with friends and family. In the long run, this experience will cost them far more than what the photo frame was worth not only in terms of money but reputation as well. Wrong way to do business in today's world!- 7 reviews

Went into my local HN store to buy a printer I saw on sale online and yep you guessed it, not only does my local store think they are too good to stock sale items, they won't order anything in and nor do they keep accessories for the printers, we all know every printer you buy you need to buy a separate cable and they sell the printers but no cables, so I asked can you order a cable in but no they don't even keep them as part of their normal range, so how does it work out that you can buy a printer but you can't buy the cord, it's like selling ...

I bought a laptop, the staff kept persuading me to buy their product care although he offered quite attractive price. I was still very polite to him but actually I felt very annoyed. When I asked him about refund policy, he avoided answering and kept on talking about the product care insurance. Next time, I will go to other stores.
Have been waiting for over a week for them to organise a television technician to have a look at my television which is still under warranty. Have promised to ring me back but never do. I am now without a television over the Christmas break. I am an aged pensioner and only have the one television. Not a happy person.

Franchise would not price match claiming that under the T&Cs it was at his discretion. When we asked to see the T&C he admitted it was not in writing but at his discretion and was verbal. So if he doesn’t like the colour of your shoes or skin - bad luck.
Had to purchase elsewhere

I purchase a Waccom tablet online, recieved the item three months later, sadly was faulty, Harvey Norman Online customer service extremely poor and you are required to submit your online enquiry through an online bot replys to email extremely slow (week later) Staff from the Harvey Norman Store Goulburn NSW came to the rescue and we got a replacement tablet so quick and seamlessly. I will not purchase through Harvey Norman online again, I am going straight to the store.
The service in Store is not too bad. Mark was good to us. The delivery guys that just came to my house right now to deliver my dryer are not good people.

Bought a laptop, it was having battery issues and was informed that I had to take it to Apple directly as they were the manufacturer, lie number 1.
[name removed] the tech guy doesn’t have an idea of policies and even the apple dude I took it to said that Harvey Norman Warrawong were shirking their responsibilities.
Came back to Harvey Norman with info from apple that it had nothing to do with them and again the useless [name removed] advised that they needed to have a tech report from apple to make sure it had no water damage. So again I ...
