Do not buy anything online from Harvey Norman
I ordered an exercise bike two weeks ago having noted that most other sites honestly declared they had sold out. Harvey Norman gave no indication when I ordered that they did not have the item in stock indeed they told me that I could expect delivery within 4-10 days (they even charged me for the delivery in advance). ow on “back-order”. Since then I have attempted to contact Harvey Norman on several occasions by a variety of means including - leaving messages on their totally useless chatline, emails, and even phoning a local store - to try to cancel my order and ask them to return my money. All to no avail. Tellingly there is NO PHONENUMBER for making contact not even an actual store has one they can give you. I have received occasional messages that my query has been “ticketed” and someone will be in touch within 24-48 hours (they never have). I leave it to you to decide what to call it when someone takes your money for an item they do not have, do not offer a refund, and refuse to make meaningful contact.Similar opinion? Easy to Use - Good service
Bought an LG washing machine
Everything was smooth from purchase to delivery
Couldn’t be happier in fact, they offered best price and I got another 7% using gift cards, in this day and age customer service goes a long way, it was a smooth and easy transaction, they had our new washer delivered the next day before Easter long weekend, can’t fault it.

Shocker
I purchased a 55U4750A TOSHIBA 55' 4K NETFLIX SMART HN TV on behalf of a friend who 76 years old, in a wheelchair and has Cerebral Palsy.
It has got to be the worst TV on the market, it stops working most days, it freezes most days and then it has to be turned off at the socket as it can't be turned off by the handset, this unbelievably hard for my friend who can't get to the socket from his wheelchair.
I've called Harvey Norman who have just put it in the hands of the contracted engineers and this is so unfair for someone whose life is as bad as it gets, sometimes he has to wait all day until his carer arrives to turn the TV on.
An absolute waste of money and this TV has been like this from day one and it's only six months old.

Don't believe adds
Purchased outdoor toys for grandson. Order stated it would take 2 days to dispatch and up to 10 to deliver. Other than initial order confirmation, received no other notice or delivery tracking. Contacted via email after 6 days. Received generic statement saying I would be contacted within 48hr, still waiting!!!! It has now been 12 days, the money came out straight away,. For a large company- disgraceful.

Non-Existent Service for Product Ordered & Paid For and Not Received
Placing the online order was simple. However self-service is the only service I have received. Once the order was placed I received an email confirmation of the order. Nothing was received after that - no tax invoice, no dispatch advice. The order was placed 08th April 2020 - an item for my daughters birthday 01st May. I contacted them via Live Chat 21st April to follow up again, & received a reply to say I was being transferred to the next available again. 4hrs later I received an automated reply to say I'd be contacted within 24hrs. That didn't happen. I contacted them again this morning & have been put back in the same queue that obviously isn't being monitored. There is no option to call & speak to someone, which indicates a head in the sand approach. I have no way of getting a refund, because my online account shows the item sitting in my shopping cart, instead of in my orders, even though it has been paid for & I have an order number. With 5 business days until my daughters birthday it's unlikely she'll receive her gift. Unconscionable Behavior Extremely Poor Service. Avoid at all costs
Harvey Norman advertised an exercise bike for immediate delivery that met our requirements, On the basis of HNs reputation and the fit to my needs I purchased the ex bike. 9 days after taking the order and payment they sent me a standard email saying the order has been delayed - no revised deliver date given. Checked my order online and that the items was on back order. Taking an order for an exercise bike that you cannot deliver during COVID-19 lock down is unconscionable and un Australian.

Fast, efficient service and delivery
The store in Wonthaggi was marvellous, easy to deal with, the store in Dandenong rang me back quickly and was very informative about the product i was interested in. The product was JBL 5.1 surround system and the customer service Tech guy was knowledgeable and convinced me to buy the product all because he knew what he was talking about and took the time ti ring back and talk to me....BANG ....SOLD...great job. Will deal with them again

Was sent the wrong item and then was refused a refund or replacement!
I ordered a blender online and received this box of plastic instead of my product. Mistakes happen and perhaps you are over working your staff. So I jump online and wait in a queue (which initially tells me is a 7 minute wait) 3.5 hours its finally my turn and after some back and forth I was told my blender would be sent. Great, no harm done.

Harvey Norman...Very UnAustralian!!!
Where do I start? For an Australian business, Harvey Norman has been the worst company I've dealt with. On the 18/03/2020 I saw them advertise 10x hand sanitisers for pre-ordering online. They said the delivery timeframe will be between 9 and 14 business days. So I ordered them and paid via Paypal.

umber and wouldn't you know it, they don;t have one or just not advertising it. Only way to contact them is by online chat, Messenger or WhatsApp. So I tried online chat and after 40 minutes got chatting to someone. After giving them all my details they said they can't see any shipment info as it's a dropshipper that will be shipping it out. So first time I've learned that Harvey Norman is using a dropshipper for these products. I was advised that they will leave notes for the dropshipper to get back to me with ETA within 48 hours. After not hearing from them by end of 48 hours, I then messaged Harvey Norman via Messenger. Their chatbot told me a rep will contact me soon. Heard nothing! So I went into Paypal and opened an :Item not received" case. At the same time I emailed Harvey Norman with the same concerns. After not hearing back by 07/04/2020, I escalated the Paypal claim to get Paypal involved. Funny enough the next day on 08/04/2020 I got an email from Harvey Norman stating that the distributor is having unavoidable delays and it will now take an extra 4 weeks for the products to be shipped. I could either wait or have the order cancelled and get a full refund. So I replied back that I have waited long enough and I want to cancel the order and get a full refund. Several hours later I got an email confirming they have started the cancellation process and I will soon receive a credit memo and then the funds will go into my account within 3 to 5 business days thereafter. I then got a response to my Messenger message I had sent them stating the same facts. Since then I haven't heard anything back about what's happening with my refund. It's now 22/04/2020 it's been exactly 2 weeks since those last correspondence from Harvey Norman. How long does it take to cancel an order and get a refund when they can take your money asap after you buy something? Paypal has a refund button for sellers and it's not hard to use. For an Australian business I am utterly disappointed by the way I have been treated. Jerry Harvey whinges Australians aren't buying from Australian retailers and here I am trying to support an Australian business and get thrown to the side of the road. This has been such a long and exhausting experience there is no way I will ever deal with Harvey Norman again. Trying to get a refund when they are at fault for not providing a product I've paid for is like trying get blood from a stone. I get better customer support from a seller on Ebay that's in China! Stay away from Harvey Norman, especially their online store. Today is the day Paypal said they'll review the claim and decide on a refund if a resolution hasn't been reached yet! Ordered an item on 8/4/20. Received nothing other than the confirmation email. Charged the next day.
Followed up via messenger on 15/4/20, on 16/4/20 they responded and said someone would be in contact as soon as possible. I've since had to follow on 17/4/20, 21/4 and again 22/4 and not getting any responses. As consumers we have become accustom to a certain level of service when we deal with reputable business names. So, I never expected I would see the likes of Harvey Norman treat their customers with such appallingly, callous, and insensitive manner when wanting to return a purchased item.

Under these circumstances and spending around $3000, they bought extras that they felt they were pushed into buying things and then realised afterwards they did not need these extras, and when returning back to the store they were told sorry there is no refunds for a change of mind. COVID 19 has bought hardships to my daughter and they cannot afford unnecessary items and they were lied to about buying a phone that had an Optus plan. Due to my daughter who is moving to a new job in remote WA she needs to have a Telstra plan not an Optus. They were told by the sales person just buy this plan and then you can hand back the sim card to Optus and cancel the card and switch to Telstra. This way you get the cheap phone. Seems to sell nothing for money
I ordered 2 x computer monitors (approx. $500) on 17 March. It is now April 21 and I have not even heard whether they have shipped or not. I've chatted to their robot 4 times now and every time someone human gets involved they cannot tell me jack crap about where my order is. And that stupid moron [name removed] wonders why people buy crap online for OS retailers.

Placed and order online for an item costing approx $3000. Did not receive any contact regarding my item not even an invoice, although Harvey Norman charged me instantly. When I tried to make contact I was told by an automated service over 48 hrs for replies and still didn't receive anything. Ordered hard disk received wifi adapter instead
Wow, this have been quite a ride. Ordered hard disk, but delivery guy brought wifi adapter instead. Didn't except it, he said that he'll return it (no signing of a package btw). This was on 30th March.
Numerous messages sent about wrong delivery, on only two of them got response with "someone will contact you".
Last message about refund send to them 16th April, bot said 24h response time,... still no reply.
Shopping experience with Harvey Norman have been quite terrible.

Putting Customers at Risk of Catching COVID-19
Unlike the rest of the world who manage to do contactless delivery, Harvey Norman is insisting on signature on delivery and delivery drivers do not wear masks. Very unprofessional. This puts both the customers and drivers at risk.

Worst service and inability to deliver on their goods.
Absolutely the worst online experience I've had. After my purchase, literally 5 mins afterwards, I sat and waited to speak with their LiveChat team for almost 1 hour to ask them to assist me in the refund given the item would not have shipped yet. They said this would be possible as long as the item hasn't shipped. This was on 31 March. No-one ever contacted me about this despite following up on 6th April and 11th April. But I am even more disgusted that I actually paid $49 for delivery, and I still do not have my order and it's been 3 weeks, with expected delivery not until later this week.
