I am having trouble retracting the hose into the reel. The runner which used to run across back and forth appears to stick on the right hand side which causes the hose to jam. It appears a ratchet system has come off.

Realise now that the cog that the belt runs on has broken off. The retractable hose reel was purchased January 2014 so have had a good run and another I purchased in October 2015 is still going well.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your question.
We would certainly advise making sure the tap has been turned off and the water has been released from the hose so ensure it doesn't freeze and expand. If you're not going to be using the hose reel during these times it would certainly be better if you stored it out of those conditions.

Hi there, thank you for your question. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your hose reel being hard to pull out.
Due to the hose reels being spring loaded, they do require a fair amount of tension to ensure that the hose retracts fully every time. However this shouldn't cause problems with the system being hard to pull out. If this is a new hose reel then the tension should ease the more you use it.

Hi Geoff, you may have over extended the hose and need to reset it. If you put one hand on the hose and one hand on the unit and give it a few short sharp tugs (you'll need to be quite forceful) this should hopefully reset your hose. Until this recent problem we were happy with the reel that we have had for some time. As we live on a small farm in the country it is most important that we have a reliable hose around our house in case of fire. What is the difference between a highflow 25m hose and a standard 30m hose? I need the extra length but want the ability to have high flow at times. What’s the difference in the flow rate?

Hi Linda, thanks for your question. The difference is the hi-flow has a slightly larger diameter hose (14mm as opposed to the standard 12mm), therefore allows more water to flow through the system at one time.
It has up to a 25% increase in water flow in comparison to our standard models. We would recommend to use the Hi-Flow on water tanks/bore pressure, or even on average - low mains pressure.

Hi, our kinder has a new retractable hose but we when we turn the tap on the water isn’t coming through the hose, yet when the hose is removed it is coming from the tank to the tap so pump is turned on. We squeeze the trigger and no water comes out of the hose

Hi Carol, thanks for your question. It does sound like the Flow Control lever has been knocked into the closed position upon installation as Jamie has said. If you put the yellow lever down towards the hose rather than up towards the spray gun then this should open the flow of water. Please let us know if you continue to have issue. I guess it would depend on the water source. Our mains tap water here in the West is perfectly safe to drink. I wouldn’t imagine there would be reason my hose would become contaminated as we have our unit attached to the wall of our house a couple of feet above ground so no nasties would crawl into the hose.

My 20mtr hose has lost its pressure, is there a fine mesh filter fitted that may be blocked? It used to work well. The hose is useless in this state and I am very disappointed a baby can wee with more pressure.
