Good experience
We had a great experience with our new homes sales consultant- [Name Removed]. He helped guide us through the process of building our first home. We found the online portal for color selection, upgrades extremely helpful prior to attending our selections appointment. We have recommended family member to now build with JG King.

Sales consultant no idea, the rest of the team thumbs up
We had a very bad experience from the very start of our journey. We were promised contracts by the sales consultant by a certain date and they were 6 weeks late, which really made the financial side of it a nightmare
The rest of the team at the Geelong office were left to pick up the pieces and they did a great job
We are on site now and hoping for quality build in a good amount of time

Excellent customer service
I would like to say thank you to all the team members at JG King Homes in providing a professional and friendly customer service.
Our pre-construction stage has now been completed and we are looking forward to the house being built. We have had a very good experience from the start, with the Sales Consultant at the Display house in Torquay, then the Pre-Construction Administrator in Geelong, great communication and regular updates from both.
Also the office staff at Port Melbourne and now with the Construction Supervisor, as work started on site.

As I am still in building process, progress thats been made until now make s me really happy with JGkings company.
So far I can see that they working quick, and good quality job.
I had issues with my land titling there been some delays, so first time I hand to pay some additional fees for building, then second time too, but was expecting some discount too ...

Amazing service!
[name removed] and the team at JG King Geelong have been amazing during our pre-construction phase. My fiance and I are first home builders, and had no idea about the process, they stepped through everything so simply for us and ensured we knew where we were at, at all times.
I would 100% recommend the team here!

Overall, straight forward and well managed process
Offers a well priced package which was easy to understand. The inclusions and extras were reasonable and was good value for money. However, was a little restrictive in terms of modifications. The pre-construction phase right through to the mid-construction/lock-up stage has been very smooth and thus far the quality of the build has been very good. I believe this was due to miscommunication between the team, however was rectified subsequently. Easy, hassle free build with quality finishes
Initially searching for a builder was extremely over whelming and tiring as we visited display home after display home. We did some costings and found the JG king consultant to be the most straight forward and honest about costs and our new home budget. Our quote came in and was very competitive with other base home packages that didn't have quality inclusions like the steel frame and roof and comparably better value for money than the other quotes we received. reasonably priced compared to my in laws whom had recently built with metric on we were blessed to upgrade to high ceilings, tiled shower bases and thick stone bench tops for a very reasonable price. We had to skip on the down lights however as these seemed to be much more pricey than getting them installed pre build with Kg king. Everything ran smoothly from contract signing right through to the build and we were in our new home in a matter of months. Only a few minor fixes have been required since with the plumbing and we're fixed in a timely manner when we made the phone call to joking without any issues. We have just had our 3 maintanience review again all with minor fixes to the paint and plaster which the consultant was happy to fix up and should be done in the next 2 weeks. I love my new home and always get comments about the build and design from people visiting. I have been waiting for this stage to leave a review as I have heard of other home owners not being able to contact their builder after their build or refusing to complete maintainance. Outstanding rectification work- over 12 months old

Terrible communication and bad attention to detail
I'm a home owner who built with jg king last year.
After they forgot to check if the heating guys actually installed and switched everything on properly in the sealings, i had to live in the house in cold and rainy weather for 3 days when i just moved in.
They forgot to switch on the water supply as well.
The house was completed in July 2018, First issue was that i wanted to install a security door but when i tried to get a quote i was informed by the installer that the front door wasn't straight. it was buckling in too much and it was the...Read more
worst his seen in 20 years and the sliding door at the side of the house eroded at the bottom cause no one bothered to check if they had cut the plastic to the appropriate size on the inside of the door, so it kept scratching the bottom edge (I hardly used that door), so it didn't take much to damage it. After 4 months they finally did a temporary fix on it but it will take 12 months for them to install another bottom steel roller they said. In May I noticed that the laminated floors were peaking up around the edges in the middle of the house. A large area as well. Its October now and after multiple attempts to try and have it investigated the maintenance manager basically came and had a look says its not their fault or problem to fix.... This is after i had to email the per person who was incharge of the maintenance manager from jg king and he came a few days later to have a look.6 comments

Some small Difficulties
Original plan sighed and deposit paid start of December 2018. Planing stage completed mid May. I feel it may have been a delayed process. 1st time building so not too sure of usual timings. Love the house plan provided and the added costs were a bit of an eye opener. Opted out on a lot of extras due to cost. Hopefully build runs a lot smoother and there are no communication issues.

Excited for first build
JG King was always a go to for us for their steel frames. Dealing with [name removed] was a breeze and then we were handed over to [name removed] to organise signing of contracts. Made contact today to chase things up only to find out she has left but thankfully the initial lady we were dealing with has taken over and will be handling the rest of our build restoring our faith in JG King. We even got a call from the site supervisor today for the slab stage and to let us know what has happened, when the slab will be poured and when the frame will be delivered and started. He was great to talk to and answered all our questions. Great build process, no customer service post last payment
JG King were great throughout the building process, very attentive and helping with any queries and concerns we had, if issues arose they were receptive and easy to deal with. Once the final bill had been paid and we had minor (non-urgent) problems (hot water service not working 100% leaking windows) they were difficult to get in touch with and once we had been directed to the appropriate person it took about 3 weeks to get the problem fixed. A lot of back and forth between Jg King and the suppliers of the product. great start but a mediocre finish.

Process was disappointing and stressful but happy with the result.
The communication and transparency has been bad from the beginning of our build.
We chose JG King due to the offer of fixed site costs. Three months after our land was titled and repeatedly questioning why we hadn’t started building (as we had signed the contract 3 months before title) we were told our fixed sites were being tripled. We had a great building supervisor for our build but before he took over we did not receive updates on when our building had started which we would have liked. The quality of the build was perfect. Only issues during commencement of the build was lack of communication....after the building supervisor took over we were well updated. we are still waiting for 3month maintenance because one of the tiles was not installed properly. They could have done a better job of clearing around the building b4 hand over like it was the case with my last builder.
The cost did not exceed our budget.

We started our building ideas looking at homes that would suit a rural acreage. We met with sales consultant [name removed] who was very courteous and professional at all times. concerns over some of the contractors used.
We went to JG Kind home Display in Waurn Ponds and had really great Customer service provided by Rob who was patient, respectful and very knowledgeable and because of that we kept on coming back and finally deciding on a house. The house design was great similar to the Arial double storey and a great façade. Once completed and house handed over in February 2022 that's when we noticed some poor quality work done by the some of the contractors.

We are absolutely thrilled with our JG King home. When we looked through the display home we then spoke to the salesperson who was very helpful and explained that any changes we wanted were no trouble at all. The plans were drawn up and met our expectations. The final price for our home was what had been quoted. ho advised us as to the quality we should go for. We were able to drive around to look at houses constructed with various bricks and this enabled us to make an informed decision as to our choice. There were times that we called in or rang the Geelong office to ask questions about the build and were always greeted with a friendly smile and the information that we needed. During the build we found the site supervisor to be extremely helpful in answering questions and showing us through the different stages. The walk through was very thorough which meant that the painting, etc were great when we moved in. After we moved in there were issues with a toilet which were dealt with promptly by the site supervisor. The 3 months maintenance check was also very thorough.
