JURA J9.3
I will never ever purchase another Jura Coffee machine or any Coffee machine that is locked down with special oval head screws so that the Brew Group can't be manually cleaned. If you own one of these machines, likely the coffee is bitter. It is bitter because there will be heaps of mouldy coffee and cleaning chemicals spread through the grinder and brew group. The cleaning consumables that are sold for these machines do not clean that crud out of the machine which can only be achieved with 3 or 4 hours of stripping the machine and manually cle...Read more
aning. I performed this operation on my approximately 2 year old Jura and replaced the Brew Group. 4 weeks after doing this I stripped the machine again to find that there was a good layer of mouldy coffee around the brew group that would have been dropping bits of sludge into each coffee.1 comment

Luke Warm!
I too have had the same experience with the Jura 9.3 and on the hottest setting..once I have added milk I must heat my coffee in the microwave! Nothing made a difference. I have heated the milk in the microwave first then added the coffee made on the hottest setting and still it's not what anyone would consider "HOT!" Disappointed is an understatement considering the expense of this unit.

Wish we had never bought it!
This is our second Jura as we had the last one in daily use for over five years. We have had this for a few months and have great difficulty producing a good coffee and it needs continual cleaning with expensive solution and getting a nice hot frothy coffee is very time consuming. The correctly ground decaf coffee often goes straight through the machine which says there is not enough coffee in the machine. We then have to empty it and keep trying and end up with a very expensive coffee eventually. Very very disappointed and wish we had never b...Read more
ought it! We should have been told that about the amount of cleaning it required before purchase. These are not cheap machines so is it too much to expect that it would produce as good a coffee as our last machine? Coffee not hot!
Bought our Jura micro 90 recently and although we have adjusted to high temp for all coffee options the end product is a Luke warm coffee, yuk! Also find the regimented self cleaning regime to be extremely annoying and unnecessary!!! I am hoping that there is a solution to our issues otherwise we will be seeking our money back.

Grounded coffee all over
2 weeks after using the machine daily, i got an message "error".
i pulled the tray out and on both layers of tray, there was about 1/3 cup of fresh grounded coffee on each. Under the trail was another 2-3 spoons of unused coffee. I clean out almost 1 full cup of unused grounded coffee.
i am about to return the machine and use my old Krups, a german make, combo coffee maker, until i find another brand.
Sorry to depart from this machine, when i had only good words from my friends that use Jura J9 or something like that.

Brilliant machine
Extremely happy with this super reliable machine that makes a great coffee.
Milk is always very hot and we've not suffered this problem described in some reviews. Quality of coffee is close to a professional machine.
Customer service from Jura is also outstanding.
Highly recommended. Very happy with purchase and when this one dies will definitely be looking for another Jura.

Very happy with the J5
We have had this machine for approx 11 years & could not fault it (purchased from new). We have only had it serviced 3 times in that time for about $300 per time (Perth). The biggest pain with the machine is the empty grounds wont go off sometimes. have cleaned, emptied 3/4 times over & still dose not go off. Even so, after 11-12 years of fabulous coffee, hopefully another proffessional clean & service will fix it. Even though this model (J5) is now discontinued, I would still buy another Jura. Motto, you get what you pay for.

Coffee is not hot!
I just purchased a Jura J90 and am very disappointed. I don't have to have my coffee super hot but this is barely hot. Had my girlfriend over just to make sure that it was not just me and she thought that it was not hot enough either. Unfortunately, it will be going back to the retailer soon.

Very Robust Machine with a bit of Tinkering
I have had my Jura J9 for 4 years now and so far had no problems at all. I always find that when it makes the second cup its always better than the first. Better crem'a and as I like my short black hot you can adjust the temp to HIGH.I have read some reviews on here saying that their coffee is just warm, if you let the machine warm up say 10min you'll find you will get a hot cuppa as long as you have adjusted the temp. The machine is robust enough to take on a party of people and is very consistent. Just make sure when your making a cappuccino ...Read more
that you test the milk frother first to make sure that's its frothing. If not, then adjust and rotate the dial again and it will froth the second time. Make sure you push the rinse button after so the frother wont block!. Overall, After some practice and getting to know your machine it's an easy thing to use but make sure you clean and rinse the machine afterwards and use filtered or R/O water even better, your machine will love you for it! Very Disappointed with this Machine
The Jura Impresa J9.3 doesn't work properly and the manufacturer dis- owns its product.I recommend to any lookers to keep away from this product it's not worth the hassle. We have had nothing but trouble from the first day. It doesn't make a good coffee and has not lived up to the hype that Harvey Norman said at the time of purchase.

Had trouble with milk not warm enough but this was resolved, trouble now there appears to be no adjustment to the type of foam and I end up with a 2cm head on my flat white!!!!!!!!! Advice is by Delonghi if you want adjustment on milk. A very expensive mistake!

When it works it's just ok.
First machine we purchased failed straight out of the box, sent it back to wholesaler and it was replaced with a new machine which worked ok and provided coffee on average as advertised, that was until until about four months ago, now won't supply water through machine to grounds and just stops pumping and wants to refill the water system every time, even though water jug is full, milk frother works properly. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Have to choose black coffee function separately and on average we get one cup from four or...Read more

Luke warm coffee, not really worth the $$
After speaking to the enthusiastic sales people at Harvey Norman, I chose to upgrade my coffee machine from the Saeco Royal to the beautiful looking Jura J9.2 with automatic milk frother. Sadly from day 1 the milk temp taints what might be good coffee. I always prewarm my cup in the microwave which helps a little but no where near cafe quality coffee. Maybe there's a way to raise the milk temp?.. It's time to upgrade and I'm certain it won't be a Jura :(

Try a Breville Oracle instead
We had a Saeco Incanto for 12 years and it made pretty near coffee shop quality coffee. When it died I tried to buy the current model but nothing similar was available. The salesman at Harvey Norman did a huge sales job on the Jura J90 "Nothing compares with it" so $2.500 later we took it home. Luke warm coffee and milk, thin flavour - not a touch on the old Saeco. Must be me ! Took it back & the Jura rep was in store. Very pleasant fellow who jiggled & fiddled & declared it perfect. "They drink it at that temperature in Europe" No they don't ...Read more
! ! Next day took it back to Harvey Norman for more help & the owner agreed that it was totally unsatisfactory & offered a full credit. How good was that ? We had heard about Breville's Oracle and went with that. I defy anyone to differentiate between the coffee, flat white, latte or espresso that the Breville Oracle makes & that made by a professional barista. Thank you Harvey Norman for top quality customer service & Breville for a top quality appliance. Jura, check your competitors and try a little harder.Similar opinion? Problem getting milk to froth.
I was really happy with my purchase a month ago, despite needing to put cup into microwave every time to heat it to desired temperature, but it has stopped frothing the milk. I only make cappuccino, so that is disappointing. Do I need a new part or am I doing something wrong?

OK if you like warm coffee
Bought this coffee machine because I heard the brand was very reliable and its European made. I set all the coffee temperature settings on high before making any coffees. It does make a good coffee but the temperature of the coffee comes out warm, I don't like really hot coffees but thought being set on high it would have been a lot hotter. The milk in the insulated container is a great idea but here also the milk comes out lukewarm, apparently pinching the silicon tube a bit while its frothing the milk will increase the temperature output. re seems to be a lot of cleaning and maintenance to do on this machine compared to my old SAECO machine. I was very disappointed with the machine as my son was making his cappuccino and then having to microwave it to warm it up to a drinkable temperature, my husband complained with every long black, it would only come out at a satisfactory temperature if cups were all warmed up and machine had made a few coffees already. I rang the company and they were very helpful and suggested a few things that I tried but did not make anything satisfactory so the lady suggested that if I wasn't happy with it to return it to place of purchase, stating that it did not make coffees hot as I had been told and that I had spoken to head office. I was very lucky that I did not wait too long to return it (2 days). I now have a Gaggia Academia and it is so much better.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Broken in under 2 weeks
My machine is not working within 2 weeks of purchase. I only ever use coffee beans and the machine is not dispensing any coffee, telling me the ground coffee receptacle is empty - and to fill it. So, the machine is automatically overriding the coffee bean election - I spoke to customer service and I was told I needed to unscrew the coffee bean receptacle lid within the machine, empty the beans and then vacuum out space. If that didn't work, then the machine would need to be repaired. I asked if this would need to be done on a continuing b...Read more
asis and I was told possibly - not a great start for an expensive product less than 2 weeks old. I followed what I was told and the machine still doesn't work. I rang local customer service at 9am on a Friday and was told someone would call me later that day or Monday to arrange for a service. I requested this happen same day as I said I would be away on Monday and was told this could not be guaranteed. So within 2 weeks of purchase I have a machine that doesn't work and little confidence that i will receive a response within the time requested. Yes, the machine made good coffee - though the temperature of it was inconsistent as others have noted - but I am regretting already that I didn't replace my 9 year old De Longhi with another De Longhi. I am very disappointed both with the machine - and the customer service treatment.1 comment

Perfect machine, as long as it works!
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Jura Impressa J5 but now that it is ailing, it looks like it will cost me a fortune to get it fixed. I have sent my machine back to the agents for repair which seemed to have done the trick. Upon reflection, I'm not too sure they actually fixed anything - now that the service warranty has expired (3 months), the machine is doing the same thing it was before the service. I called the agent to find out if they would consider looking at it again only to be told that the machine was old (6 years!!), it wo...Read more

I wonder if any of you guys noticed that, when Jura is brewing espresso, it spits out water first before coffee?

Hi William, does it doing when it first rinses as well?

Well i do not recall that it spits water during initial rinse, but observed this consistently for each and every brew; spits out clear water during pre-brew, then coffee.

I have had my J5 for a few years now and love it, recently when making coffee the water doesn’t go through the coffee it goes straight to the drip tray, is there a simple fix for this
1 answer
I believe it’s time for a deep clean; either send it in for a service, or diy.
Do you also having ‘no coffee symptom’ while making cappuccino through side spout?
Deb C.asked
I have a Jura J9 Impressa. When the machine needs cleaning, I enter the cleaning cycle as usual, but it automatically goes to expert mode. If I go back and enter the cleaning mode, and remove the drip tray, it won't recognize when I put the tray back in. However, when not in the cleaning mode, it has no problem recognizing the drip tray when I return it to place after emptying the grounds. Although I can make coffee, I now can't clean the machine. Any help?
