RSPCA Pet Insurance

Just been hit with my annual policy renewal pack and like others on this forum I refuse to pay the price hike - didn't make any claims at all last year and find it incredibly rich that their letter states they have avoided increasing their premiums for 'the last 2.5 years' when I have been hit with increases in both years of membership.
Just so I am clear, how does one discontinue their policy? Mine's up for renewal in a fortnight. Do I just provide written proof of termination via snail mail? (Locked Bag No. 9021, Castle Hill, NSW 1765)?
Thanks!

That is correct. They said I could submit my Notice Of Cancellation by fax or snail mail showing my policy number, name of my pet, and my date of birth. So for expedience, I faxed it and got my confirmation of cancellation letter just last week. If you think you can stomach dealing with their phone staff and their spiel to try and retain your custom, give them a call to make sure.

Thinking of cancelling my RSPCA insurance based on repeated price hikes and the comments in this thread.

Didn't think paying $63 per month on pet insurance was worth it, place claim for yearly injections and received $50 back. Love Lolly our pet boarder Collie, But when you add up $63 x 12 x 14 years. comes to over $10000 the return given isn't that good

All but one pet insurance policy in Australia is underwritten by Hollard Insurance. So if you look at the offerings most policies are VERY similar. The main difference are who they are offered by and how much they cost. I've ditched RSPCA and gone with Woolworths. If I can get my butt into gear, I'll cancel that too and put away a monthly amount into a savings account of my own and fund my own "insurance".

RSPCA Pet Insurance

Why is such a wonderful organisation as RSPCA affiliated with such a dreadful organisation as RSPCA Pet Insurance? I've been a strong fundraiser for RSPCA for years and think that it's a morally sound organisation. But I can't believe the problems I've had with some of the "front-of-house" staff who have the interpersonal skills of a tea-towel. Apologies to those who don't fall into this category! Report your problems to the Ombudsman." Does anyone know who is the head honcho of this insurance company?"Imagine if an esteemed company like CGU was to treat their clients like this? They just wouldn't is the answer. So roll over, RSPCA pet Insurance: you're not worth it! Please if anyone knows to whom we should all be addressing our letters/emails of complaint, please let me know?

I am with you on this issue, I have taken this insurance out although it is higher then other insurance companies, when it was time to claim my dogs illness, the claim was rejected. Second claim was rejected too, now I have claimed the 6th time and all claim were rejected. so what is covered in your pet insurance policy RSPCA?
Do not obtain insurance with this organisation they will happily take your $67.02 every fortnight and when its time to claim your pets illness, they will reject your claim with the following blurb: "We are unable to admit this claim for assessment as it falls outside your Policy's Terms and Conditions". so what am I paying for and what is covered under my policy's terms...? .
Appalling. I feel absolutely ripped off, I got nothing back of almost $3000.00 of vet bills for several different issues that are probably the most common issues a dog may have..

Do not waist your money with RSPCA Pet Insurance.

It seems that all pet insurance in Australia is underwritten by Hollard Insurance anyway. I just cancelled my RSPCA policy after 1 year after being slugged with a 28.9% increase after making no claims at all last year. I've moved over to Woolworth Pet Insurance. Basically the same comprehensive cover for $21 less per month.

I don’t know why Andrews contend was removed, for inappropriate content, he was probably very angry with the RSPCS. Just to show how dreadful and manipulative these pet insurance companies are.. Open a doggie bank account and deposit $25 into that account every week and you won’t need to rely on a system that actually takes your money for nothing in return, with all their underlining Terms and conditions that most of us do not understand, it is set up this way and it is corporate greed.
