Warning!! A very dodgy company
The policy called “no fix no charge” turned out to be a trap. They will charge you regardless( minimum 120 bucks).
My speaker was making clicking sound. After finding out my computer had a hardware fault, the technician made a diagnosis of water spillage without opening the computer. He suggested to upgrade the system or reset it. I said no, which means denying the solution offered. So they can charge you.
After I made a complaint, i was told that “you could be double charged for one problem, if the computer cannot be fixed the first time!!”

Had problem with very slow internet wifi. After checking all possible causes, fixed with LAN cable connection to relocated wifi extender. Worked beautifully. PC Doctor are not cheap, but good and worth the charge.

Do Not Use This Company
Initially they fixed my laptop only for it to break down two weeks later. They offered to repair it again which took over a month only for it to break down again two weeks later all the while not detailing me with an invoice or any information regarding what was wrong. Upon offering a third time they took the 99 dollar service fee for a technician to come pick it up and spent it on a courier service with terrible reviews that I couldn't contact instead which I quoted to about half of what I paid, all the while blaming it on my poor miscommunication. Extremely incompetent and unprofessional do not use this service.

I called the Original PC Doctor when my Printer would not work. The problem was rectified, by Jay, and a Windows 10 Update was installed. He advised that a new modem would greatly improve the efficiency of our small system. Very prompt friendly service.

Overpriced and pushy
Felt like i was being probed by a telemarketer, then the technician would not stop trying to up-sell me.
Money hungry and just trying to get every last penny from me the whole time.

We are sorry that you got locked out of your computer for 1 day due to an oversight on behalf of the technician we normally put any passwords on your invoice so there is no confusion or miscommunication to what the new password is. I believe that we did get your password to you first thing Monday morning after you were locked out from Saturday afternoon. Since then we have disciplined the technician and provided clear instructions on what the correct company policy is. Great service, great results
Kathy and James from the Original PC Doctor provided a great service to remotely fix my computer and walk me through the issues. Kathy is a very clear communicator and ensured the booking with the technician, payment arrangements and other obligations were clear up front. James was a vert skilful technician identifying and resolving a number of issues with the laptop and making an effort to minimise the cost of service. I highly recommend this service.

Did not properly fix issue and worked slow to bump in an additional time block
The Original PC Doctor have a 14 day guarantee. My issue returned after 25 days so not covered by this policy. An identical issue to the one they solved, meaning they did not fix it.
I had them come to me and they charge by 15 minute intervals. The tech intentionally dragged his feet "fixing" the issue to bump in to the next 15 minute block.
When I called to report the issue was not fixed, the person on the phone said it's outside their guarantee but she'll happily re-book the tech to attend at the usual rates. No thanks.

The worst company to deal with
Upon the rating at first glance it appears this company are trust worthy. People should read the negativity left from people whom have had the pleasure of dealing with PC doctor, and how very similar their feedback is, it's almost back to back with how many people have had a nightmare just trying to get their PC's back, over a month isn't acceptable. It's a shame that their positive "reviews" aren't carried out to all customers.

d to force them to give back my PC before they destroyed it further. This company is a nightmare to deal with, the lack of communication is appalling, your PC won't come out the same, it'll either have more problems if you're lucky to get it back. They take zero care in pulling apart your computer an damage the outer casings. Not only that you wont to get your PC back for a minimum 1month It baffles me how long it takes to diagnose an issue, an they don't keep you updated on anything! By far the worst company to deal with!1 comment

Left my laptop in worse condition
Do NOT use the original PC doctors. They took my laptop for a month and retuned it unfixed and more broken. Throughout the month I was chasing them up, trying to find out where my laptop was. I asked for a replacement laptop whilst mine was being “fixed.” They not only gave me one that didn’t work, they tried to get me to trade it for my laptop - at a cost to me! They handed the laptop back more broken (speaker cables torn off) and didn’t process my refund for weeks. I had to chase them up twice for that too. They’ve offered to assess the speaker issue and potentially fix it. It couldn’t have been anyone else! The customer service has been terrible as well. Buyer beware.

It seems you spilt whisky on your laptop and in some cases this could lead to the device being unrepairable. We admit the assessment period did take a while. In return we gave you a Macbook to use free of charge for 3 weeks as well as arranged a refund of any funds you had paid us. You were so happy with our loan device you even asked if you could have it for a couple days more which we obliged working in with your schedule to when it could be collected. Shortly after returning our loan device you have claimed we caused further damage to your already broken Macbook. We have no record of your speaker cables being torn whilst in our care, such cables cost around $20 and we wouldn’t give you a free loan machine yet try and hide $20 damage from you. You have demanded we pay you further monetary compensation without seeing the damage or allowing us to repair it. Unfortunately we do not accept liability unless given the opportunity to view or verify the situation. Your Macbook needed a logicboard replacement and it is clear you have no intention of fixing it but further try and extort funds out of us since we were kind enough to loan you a machine. If you change your mind and actually want to repair your Macbook, please feel free to contact us. Sincerely The Original PC DoctorYou did indeed offer a replacement laptop - one that did work (the first didn’t). Key programs on my laptop unexpectedly & suddenly failed to work. I rang a mate in I.T. who recommended THE PC DOCTOR. We set up a telephone appointment for a Technician to use remote access to diagnose and fix the cause of the problem. This took time and the system works much faster now that ever before.

Quick and good service
The technician was on time and able to provide an express service to get my laptop back to me on the Saturday (rather than Monday) as I was leaving on Sunday - much appreciated. He had to do a full back up of all programs and data and then re-install Microsoft. He found a fair number of viruses which I thought my Trend Micro security program should have removed. Laptop is working much better and I can take it with me as I'd planned. Thank you very much. Jenni

le to diagnose the actual fault of my computer after doing some research. After actually looking into the computer we found out that it was a temperature fault and not the hard drive. Previous Review 15/07/19 Beyond disappointed with the work completed by The Original PC Doctor and the absolutely lack of care, if you read this before ringing or asking for a quote, Don't, get a quote from someone else. I got a technician to come out about 2 weeks ago, he was an hour late, because he wanted to got to his supplier first, my appointment was at 9 and the place didn't open till 9, meaning I wasn't able to sit in on the repair I had to call my mum to come to the house as I had to go to work. When I got home I was nearly jumping out of my car excited that my computer would be fixed, it has been clicking for a couple of weeks and I was told that it was a Hard Drive fault. When I got home all of my data had been transferred onto an External Hard Drive, I was beyond annoyed as I had no interest in having an external hard drive attached to my computer, this was something that I could do myself for a quarter of the price. I tried to contact The Original PC Doctor for an explanation but heard nothing, I called, texted and email and no one responded. The next day I was working on my computer and the External Hard Drive faulted, I was thankfully able to get through to the Call Centre who put me through to the original technician. He came out fixed the External Hard Drive that he installed and then asked me how I was going to pay. Their guarantees are absolutely false, they will blame something else for the fault, for me it was my animals that caused the external hard drive to fault. I paid nearly $1000 for the work that was completed by the Original PC Doctor, which included 2 Service Fees and they fixed absolutely nothing, I just got supplied an external HD I did not want and paid a technician to transfer my files; only a couple hours after fully using my computer it began to click again and has been clicking for the past 2 weeks. I was also told by the technician that my Mac HD would inevitably fail, meaning I would need to get it replaced or to buy a new computer. I tried to contact them immediately, telling them I was not happy and that my computer was not fixed and had began to click again. It has been 2 weeks since the repair, I have not heard from anyone in regards to my questions or even given a solution on whether its worth getting someone to come out and actually fix the issue I contacted them about. I was not even offered from my technician the ability to fix the Mac HD, I was not given a quote about how much it would cost, his only suggestions really was to buy a new computer, it'd be cheaper. My mum who was there for the repair has even called multiple times in the past 2 weeks trying to get a solution but nothing.1 comment

Hi Doug, That is something our team can assist with. If you can please call the office on 1300 723 628 and we can organise to send a technician out to your home at time that is suitable to you, we have weekday, afterhours and weekend appointments available.
Will it be very expensive. I'm thinking of updating my laptop. It's a MSi VR603. Have you any suggestions on what to replace it with for about $ 1,000

Hi Doug, It will be cheaper to fix the old machine than spend $1000 on a new one. If you want to buy a new machine we can quote that too, if you call the office on 1300 723 628 we can organise some quotes for you free of charge and no obligation. Anything else?

Good Morning Lei,
Thank you for sharing your perspective of your interaction with our service team yesterday. We are obviously very disappointed to read your comments, as we pride ourselves on our customer interactions and transparency.... Read more
After reviewing the evidence with my team, you can clearly read the definition of the no-fix, no-fee policy on the website and we also send you a copy to your email before we attend on-site. I have out a put a copy below. ‘NO FIX, NO FEE’ GUARANTEE: "If we are unable to fix/repair (“fix”) your equipment or provide you with a solution to fix your equipment, you will not pay anything, even if one of our Technicians attends onsite. You should know that often the only solution to a problem might be that you need to upgrade your system software or hardware, which of course is likely to involve you spending extra money. If this is our advice for fixing a problem, you will still be charged a service fee and for our time to attend onsite as this is considered a solution or a fix to your problem, irrespective of whether you choose to follow our advice or recommendations. a) NOTE: for data recovery and laptop/hardware repairs an assessment fee is charged and is not refundable under the ‘No Fix, No Fee’ policy. You should know that in some cases we may be unable to either recover files for data recovery or repair the laptop/hardware equipment at a lower cost than the price for new equipment of similar or identical quality." We can fix your machine but you declined to go ahead with any repairs so unfortunately yes you still have to pay for the on-site service fee and 15 minutes for the technician to investigate the problem with the machine at your home or workplace. I don't know where you got the information that we charge double if the issue cannot be fixed the first time as all hardware repairs carry a 90 day warranty that we stand by. So if you pay to have the speakers fixed and it fails within the 90 days we will repair it again no charge to you. Our team takes all feedback very seriously and as a result of your comments, we will review our processes internally to see what we can do to eliminate any possibility of similar misunderstandings in the future. Should you wish to discuss this further please feel free to contact me on 1300723628. Yours sincerely John Pititto, Managing Director The Original PC Doctor.
