Very thankful
My sisters and I were booked to do a big trip to Europe together. Looks like we will be doing it in Australia instead! I just had a lovely chat with a TripADeal worker named Lisa, she was so helpful. I know a lot of people want money back, I am just happy that the company are still around and I will still get my holiday with my sisters.

China - NO GO NO REFUND
After waiting for an update on our TAD to China with a departure date of 28/05/2020, we were advised via email on 9/4/2020 that our trip would not be going ahead. No surprise there. However, we are only being offered a credit for another trip to China of equal or greater value, to be taken by 31/12/2021. For this privilege they are charging me $99 per person!!

Conflict with what was offered by a response on this site, and by email
I find that TAD are changing the rules and not being honest in relation to their dealings with me.
A previous review submitted by me made mention that credits could be used for any deal.
The email I received from TAD gave me an option to accept a voucher, or cancel. Acceptance of the voucher was also subject that it can only be used for a China deal. When I called TAD, I was advised that the so called tour operators only offered vouchers, so hence,I could only go to China. I for one only want my money back. Never again Trip a deal you have lost me.
My wife and i have paid $21000 for a holiday to the USA Canada and Alaska as with the rest of the reviews
no correspondence no refund as far as im concerned your thieving dogs that should be held accountable and you should be made to refund everyone's money. I need the money back to survive Covid 19 as we will run out of money soon because of a lack of work.I bet the 2 directors are sitting back thinking what stupid people we are for wanting a refund while you are drinking champagne and have a good time with your ocean views.Calmer is a good thing hope you get yours and you will but unfortunately you will get my money-your thieving dogs.

A thorough explanation
Just got off the phone after receiving my offer for our cancelled travels in late May. The lady I spoke to was very helpful after I needed some further explanation about the credit I was offered. I am not too happy about the supplier fee, but from what she has explained it sounds fair, she honestly has helped me understand the process behind how they work as a travel company. It’s pretty interesting. Here's to hoping tehy will make it through this mess so I can rebook maybe an Australian trip 2021.

Took credit travel again
Took the credit for our planned trip to India. We were originally offered a credit that needed to be used this year but I think because of the governemnt ban on travel our offer changed. Glad the offer changed. no way I was going to India this year. The new offer is great. We are giving trip a deal a chance here and hope they are still around to honour the credit when things settle down dont think I could ask for more with everything considered. I want to travel around Australia this year please put up tours that are cheap for our healthy country

I get it, it’s complicated and travel is in a bad way...didn’t hear much at first but they were true to their word and through came the credit voucher. I thought I’d lost everything so I was pretty happy with the credit. It will be holiday time for us when all this blows over!

Tough times
Given the circumstances I feel that the outcome for credit voucher provided by Trip A Deal is not bad considering what other businesses are offering. Yes, we’ve been charged a fee, but all things considered, we’d rather to pay it to be able to have options to travel in the future that better suit us and not lose out completely.

Disappointing Service Amidst Covid-19 outbreak
We booked a 8-day trip to Samoa for March 2020 (we paid and booked in full in Dec 2018). Took out our travel insurance with Qantas in Feb 2022. We encountered numerous issues with Tripadeal as our trip loomed closer.
When I requested a draft flight itinerary, it took days and follow ups to receive.

Not happy about a credit
I was offered a creit for a future trip with T.A.D. and am not happy . Due to my age, I don't know if I will be travelling in 2021 or even be here . They refused my refund request . I know the money has not been paid to ROYAL CARIBBEAN . There was one flight from Hawaii to Sydney which I realize would have had to be paid at the time of booking . Not Happy Trip A Deal

How to get your money back from Trip A Deal fellow travellers!
For those of you that paid Trip A Deal (TAD) by Credit Card you SHOULD lodge a Credit Card Disputed Transaction with your Bank's Credit Card Section immediately. They can arrange a CREDIT CARD CHARGEBACK against Trip A Deal. I just received a FULL Refund for a China Trip under "services not rendered". I never cancelled my trip or accepted their dodgy pressure offer of a Credit Voucher. These Credit Vouchers are worthless in the event of a Trip A Deal financial collapse, which is where they are headed in my personal opinion.

vance with Trip A Deal in Product Review Titled "Do the right thing Trip A Deal" signed 'Not Happy Jan" on 10 March and of course got no response. I subsequently lodged a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading following ACCC guidelines. NSW Fair Trading have been deluged with complaints against Trip A Deal who are clearly not adhering to rules and regulations or their own Product Disclosure Statement under 'Cancellation Policy'. Travel Industry peak body ATAS confirmed to me that Trip A Deal ARE a Licenced Travel Agent, and NSW Fair Trading confirmed to me that our complaints are with TAD and not overseas suppliers that they are telling many disgruntled customers. Good luck "real" fellow travellers and start downloading your Credit Card Disputed Transaction forms. For those that paid for your trips by other means, my best advice is "always pay by CREDIT card as you have some recourse. "Not Happy Jan" now happy again! Offer to defer my cancelled japan trip
I booked and paid $6865 for my sister and I to travel to Japan on the 16th of May for 14 days which included a 5 night cruise. Great value I think. but only if you get to go. I know these are strange and uncertain times and things change daily. Including my terms and conditions, which I now see have a new section on pandemic. Surely this is an unlawful act.
Trip A deal have given me one offer and that is to defer my trip which is to be taken to Japan before Dec 2021. plus a $199 pp charge for rebooking which is to come off my total price paid....Read more
My problem is I cant see any Japan Trip A deals so what am I actually going to use my Voucher on exactly. I also don't know what the cost of these invisible deals are so I may have to pay much more than the quoted and paid price. I did manage for Trip a deal to tell me who my flights where booked through and I see that they are refunding 100% back to their customers but only if you booked directly. Also the cruise company give150%paid Offer to defer your trip before the end of this year back to their customers. You have not addressed the legal side of things and Aust consumer law says that if you cannot provide what we have paid for within the timeframe requested, so we are entitled to a full refund.
We have contract with you and you have a contract with your supplier.
Your suppliers are refunding you as they advised us, (Qantas) even though they told us our booking from you has not been confirmed and our names were not on their database.

Take the Peace of mind or lose the $10500.00
This is a my second review re this companies tactics re refunds etc.We had five days to make a decision to take the POM deal or lose the lot on our April trip.I might add the Australian Gov had already declared a pandemic.We were obviously under duress and took the POM offer which expires in 2021 not knowing if the time frame would be suitable.The next day the no travel ban was instigated.I can understand how TAD may be under the pump re enquiries however their lack of communication channels ie via email or increased phone lines is appalling ....Read more
I would also point out their suppliers are now referred to by TAD as our suppliers !! . We have requested a list of our suppliers, eg airlines, bus tour companies etc so we can contact them direct, three weeks later still no reply. I would suggest all complainants on this review site to direct their complaints to ACCC who I understand have had numerous complaints re travel companies in this current coronavirus period.As others have suggested, a class action is another option,this would in all probability incurr further costs and mental stress.! They had to cancel due to Coronavirus and will only credit the same trip within 6 months. There is not one cent they are willing to credit when I paid the full amount and unable to book for the next 6 mths.

I can only speak for my own experience with Tripadeal, and I feel that I received a fair outcome given the circumstances. Some of the stories I’ve read about - from many travel organisations as well as tripadeal - have been truly awful and I feel terribly sorry for those who have been caught up in these situations and not received due recourse. Time to act
Reading all these reviews and the similar problems to ours being experienced by so may people, I think it's time to take this out into the public arena and have it addressed properly. This whole situation is an absolute indictment on the Australian travel and related insurance industry. To say it is unAustralian is an understatement.

this together", but, hey, are we here? Reading through the numerous reviews, from all of you, who are waiting for answers and/or are seeking refunds, as we can't afford to have many thousands of dollars tied up in cancelled trips, in many cases now deferred, which are very unlikely will occur in the deferred time frames, it's clear that we're being screwed, "all round". TAD isn't offering/providing refunds!!! That's clear. Several discussions with the TAD call centre staff have confirmed that. Yet our travels have been cancelled ("postponed" for those who have chosen to defer and the deferred trip actually can go ahead) due to absolutely no reason/fault on our part. I booked in good faith and have paid well over $10,000, which is now "sitting" with TAD (regardless of how they says its been "used"). I certainly can't afford to have that sort of money effectively "lost" and I'm sure, reading the many reviews, nor can most of you. I was offered, like "you", a "Peace of Mind" rebooking deferment/credit, where it cost me several hundred dollars for the "pleasure", to book the same trip (restricted to such) at another time later this year, between specified months. That's not what we initially wanted!!! We wanted to go, when we can, in April this year. However, we can't go due to issues outside our control, so, OUR money should be refunded. There should be no issue or question here!!! I'm writing all this here, as I really think there needs to be a concerted effort to have this properly and quickly addressed by the respective authorities in place. Failing that, I'm sure the current affairs programs across the media, would love to take this to the public. Not only is our money being withheld, we're being given next to no choice to minimise our loss, by having to rebook, at a penalty charge, at a time which may not be suitable.Similar opinion? Trip A Deal
We have booked the USA - Canada - Alaska trip for August this year, and paid in full. I understand the problems TAD are facing, but no communication of any sort is disconcerting. TAD, you need to get your act together, start formulating a plan and communicate it to all the customers who think that you are stealing their money. That includes me.

Tripadeal, why are you making this all so hard? We just want to be treated fairly. None of us asked for this. Don't keep people's money where no service has been provided. If you do the right thing and give people their money back, have some faith that people will rebook with you down the track when things get back to normal. We should not have to resort to legal action, ACCC or Fair Trading to get back what is rightfully ours.
