Buyer Beware - Amarok Or Amalemon
Buyer beware Long Story but worth the read if considering purchase of a Volkswagen.
Amarok Or Amalemon
In May 2022, I purchased a 2018 Volkswagen Amarok 2H MY18 TDI550 Ultimate, from Westpoint Autos Volkswagen (Westpoint), 440 Moggill Rd, Indooroopilly, QLD. The total purchase price of the Amarok being $72,000, inclusive of interest. The Amarok had 26,000 kilometres on the odometer and was supposedly sold to me with the remainder of a 5 year factory warranty and 10 year mechanical dealer warranty. Within the first two weeks, I noticed some sub...Read more

The honeymoon ends the moment your warranty does with VW and it's dealers!!!
Hello, and thanks for reading my post.
I bought a 2016 Passat Alltrack privately late last year while it was still under warranty. It had only traveled 22k at the time and had always been serviced at a VW dealership. It didn't come up for it's 30k service until the end of May 2022, it's warranty having expired barely two months prior 25th March). I took it to my local VW dealership, Bayford in Epping (Vic) for it's service and transmission fluid change. All seemed fine until a few weeks later. It started with the "Auto sensing" headlights acti...Read more

The price might be 'premium' but the service is not (Wodonga Volkswagen)
One of the most difficult aspects of owning a car like a Volkswagen when living outside of a major regional centre, is being basically locked into having only one available service agent. In the case of Wodonga Volkswagen, whilst the price might be 'premium' the service is not. They never properly explain non-routine work that they say needs doing, or take/show photos of underneath the car, or put it up on a hoist so that you can see what they are talking about. When a physical repair is going to cost over $1,000, that is certain,y not an unreasonable expectation. i.e. Don't treat the customer like a witless idiot.

Not Happy
Issues with gearbox on 2014/2015 Golf, a long term ongoing problem for VW, multi thousands of cars recalled. Dropped my car at VW Osborne Park W.A for assessment, car been there week now, all I get is awaiting a response from VW, ok expected but no offer of a replacement vehicle, very inconvenient.

Worst ever dealership - VW Ringwood
New car experience was a nightmare.
Brand new Golf GTI was anything but brand new, after 5 trips back to the dealership to have various issues rectified. Still have issues with the leather seat and an interior globe has blown. And after several requests the dealer principal could not even call me to explain why the service department manager Harry was so rude on the last visit and ignored my concerns. As a life long VW customer I would strongly recommend to stay away from this dealership.

Recently I had my airbag recall done with them, had appointment 7:30am, i come 7:25 am walk in there and guy started going of his head yelling “get out “and wait till the boom gates go up.
There is no need to speak with people like that!
Will not be going there again.

South Yarra VW - Great Service, we love our new Tiguan!!
Robert Sultana, at Sth Yarra VW, was recommended to us as we looked at purchasing a new car for our family. We had already done our own research on the 2022 Tiguan and after a test drive with Robert we looked at pricing and upgrade options. There was no pressure to upgrade from Robert just his knowledge of the car and what was available to us. After some negotiation we settled on a model & price. From there everything moved really quickly and we were picking up our new Tiguan before we knew it. We've contacted Robert on a couple of occasions since buying the car and he has been more than happy to assist us. We are so pleased with our purchase and have no hesitation in recommending Robert Sultana and South Yarra VW. Thanks again Robert!!

Berwick Volkswagen - The Best Dealership
We were looking for a new car, we tried 10-20 different dealers from GM to Ford, Jeep and even Alpha Romeo. It was like nobody wanted to sell us a car just because my wife wanted a manual gearbox. We got comments like "why do you want a manual" to "Manuals are gone". It got to the point that we would walk into a dealership and the first thing we'd say was, "we're looking for a manual car". This usually ended up with sorry we can't get them or we can get you one next year to which I replied "dude it's July, we can't wait until next year". This w...Read more
ent on from dealership to dealership until we went to Berwick VW, by accident because we were looking at Audi. Not only did Berwick VW have several manual cars, they never even mentioned us wanting a manual car, it wasn't an issue to them at all. We arranged to visit the next day to test drive a 2022 Golf and we were introduced to South African guy called Andrew whilst we waited for our sales person. He asked what car we were interested in and my wife said "a manual Golf" and his response, "alleluia, at last someone who knows how to drive". This made all the difference to us and the staff at Berwick VW were excellent and treated us like friends everytime we went there. We bought the Golf and are very happy with the car and the service we received. I would thoroughly recommend Berwick VW to anyone. Now I have given them 5 stars with regards to customer service however, I have only given 4 stars for the car. The car is excellent with one exception, auto start stop cannot be turned off permanently, had this been available then it would have been 5 stars.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing Service and we love the car!!
We recently purchased a Golf Highline. The entire experience was made easy and fun by our salesperson Robert Sultana. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle, professional and just a really nice guy. I hate buying cars but thanks to Robert this time around was a pleasure. Thanks Robert!!!

Extremely Happy
Just purchased a new Golf..... and so far I cannot fault the car or the service from South Yarra VW and Robert Sultana in particular. Robert was very professional, but also very personable and easy to deal with during negotiations. My experience with this dealership has been faultless - very accommodating regarding pick up and took the time (long time) to make sure I understood the vehicle and all its functions. So far so great. Thank you Robert.

Money for Nothing! Treated badly by Norris VW...
2017 Golf TSI. Lane Assist & ACC failed, and just before it did there was a violent steering wheel movement that almost crashed the car! (Much more than the usual Lane Assist slight tug). Wheel alignment had (supposedly) been done recently at the 1st service, (but the dealer had then replaced their wheel alignment machine as it had been faulty). They said the Lane Assist/ACC had failed because of an "external influence": specifically a "sudden drastic change in suspension geometry". No! Absolutely not - I'm the only driver and no such thing ha...Read more
d happened. They checked the suspension and the ACC/Lane Assist components and found no damage. They said they had to do a wheel alignment then align the cameras (radar). Total over $500!! 3000km later it happened again. Violent steering wheel movement then the system went into fault. Went to a different VW dealer. Wheel alignment had not changed. All ACC/Lane Assist components undamaged and still aligned. Just a main battery disconnect and reset was required. Suspected faulty radar unit, but not replaced as it worked OK once powered up again. No money changed hands. Complained to VW Australia. Asked them to ask the original dealer for a refund as they had done unnecessary work. The dealer still insisted that there must have been an external influence, but I am convinced that the original wheel alignment was done badly or not done at all. Nothing else makes sense. I feel the dealer charged me for work that was not needed and the customer service rep was very aggressive and argumentative about it. All they cared about was money. And it was apparent that they felt they would not be supported by VW so could not do anything under warranty. So the 5 year warranty did not cover anything as there was supposedly an external influence! If it happens again and the radar is replaced, I will once again ask for a refund. This has been a very poor experience. Not good enough VW!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst service ever Ringwood VW
I am prompted to write this as a result of a number of past poor performances from and including the most recent service visit to Ringwood VW. I had experienced a number of warning alarms on my Golf wagon namely Brake servo, SBS, and EPC alarms and significant misfiring, and even had a major loss of power whilst driving. Having stated that these problems were experienced and needed to be fixed in addition to the service, I received a call (as usual to sell me the technicians recommended updates) at which point I asked about the other issues ...Read more
with no comment other than they would be presumably fixed. You can imagine my surprise and disappointment at getting the car back with none of the major issues rectified or even being advised that they would need the car for longer to investigate, as they could find no issues (not able to see any logs in the GFF). Wow clearly if they can't see the problem in the logs then they can't address the issues, but hey at least they got their money for the service after all thats clearly what they are more interested in rather that safe driving and a healthy car. Needless to say this is the last time I'll go back to this place and I have so little confidence in the car that it now sits in the garage and is unused. PS: Before I had completed the 15 minute drive back home the SBS and Brake servo warning lights came back on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Can anyone suggest a competent service place for new Crafter (4motion). In Melbourne. I am quite fearful re above reviews but there is no other vehicle to match and I wonder if new factory to build might offer a better product. Am I a dreamer?

I'm sorry, whilst Berwick VW seem to very excellent in the sales area, we haven't had the car long enough to test the service department.
VW Berwick nearly literally killed me, had my car serviced by them every 3 months, they were consistently telling me they had checked/replaced my brake pads, then less than 1 week after the last service I let them do, I put my foot on the brake and the car kept going, horrible metallic sound, had it checked by a third party, all brake calipers were metal on metal, cost $1600 to fix. AVOID!
That's what I was fearful of. Thanks for the input.

Why doesn't VW have a Cherry Red Caddy TSI 220 available any where in Australia? To have to order something four months or more in advance is ridiculous. My dealer in Hervey Bay couldn't even show me a metal sample of the colour. You're colour range on the face book features Cherry Red. I'm very disappointed. All that is available in Queensland I've been told is the Caddy TSI 220 auto petrol is black, silver or white.

We bought a petrol VW Tiguan model 2009 with 106000 km from a dealer near Liverpool. From the day they sold it we had no end of problems and it keeps going into safety mode despite numerous repairs. They would not fix it properly to take it back. This has been going on for 2 years now and enough is enough. I look forward to expert advice. Any ideas?

You need to bite the bullet and get rid of it, allalrernatively you can go to the CEO and request intervention.
I have lodged a claim with VCAT for unconscionable conduct as they don't want to respond to my queries or own up the failures of their staff
We are trying to get rid of it but on that day it went into Safety mode again and they returned it!
