Hi I would like to know what the winter sports pack cover is for, specifically for the equipment hire? Loss or damage of ski equipment for example?

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your query. In relation to Winter Sports Equipment Hire, this section covers the hire amount if your own winter sports equipment has been damaged or stolen. In regards to Winter Sports Equipment Excess, this refers to damage or if your hire equipment has been stolen and you are charged the excess, we will cover this cost. Hope this helps. If you have any further queries, please email [email protected] Regards, Helen

1cover DOES NOT cover epidemics or pandemics, so no they don't cover coronavirus even if you caught it outside China, or got blocked from a flight due to a temperature.

Hi Maria,
Yes, Paulh3 is correct, there is a general exclusion on Pandemics and Epidemics, therefore no cover for the Coronavirus, however this is not unique to 1Cover and you will find that most travel insurers have the same exclusion. Regards, Helen

Despite what they might say, most insurers cover coronavirus if you bought in time. 1Cover do not regardless of how early you bought it, rip off!

Hi, I have you 1Cover before but I just want to be clear about medical expenses cover because so many people misunderstand the term and the condition like me. If you're in a country where local hospital or ambulance or doctors provide receipt in their language, do I need to translate the receipt to English before I lodge a claim to 1cover?In an emergency of injury or health problem and I have to go to the closest hospital. After that they have to transfer to specialist hospital or doctors, do I have to ring 1Cover first or do you organise everything at the start? thank you, Tom

Hi Tom, Ideally to process the claim as quickly as possible, we recommend that the documents are already translated by a registered translator, however if you are unable to do this, we have facilities available that can action this process for us. We recommend that for any medical emergencies that you always contact our Medical Team to assess your condition and make the necessary arrangements that you require. Hope this answers your query. We are travelling to the US in a few months and looking at travel insurance. We are mainly concerned about illness/sickness and the ridiculous cost of medical treatment over there should we get sick. Can you please explain what happens in the case of illness- fortunately we have never had to seek medical advice on previous trips. Do we pay up front and then reimbursed, or is it covered immediately by 1 cover?
