Peter Zeimerasked
Hi I was told to install Braemer Ecostar TQ430. My house has about 10 rooms including kitchen. With about 14 outlets. I was told this would be best heater for our house. I was quering if the 28 kw is enough and told that I cannot have strong one because the cuts will not support it. What is the opinion? Regards Peter

Hi Peter, I don’t know much about heating system but I was also recommended by the company about this product but was discouraged from installer and he was encouraging me to install the old system (3 star). He told me that it is the new technology and big headache and complicated. I found the product big head ache and waste of money. Every year it has a problem. I am curious if the unit last it’s warranty. It is two weeks I don’t have any heating. I don’t recommend the product as well warranty service.

Hi, My name is Greg Lawson I have a THM520N. The unit occasionally fails to start. The problem started last season and about four or five times a week it fails to start, no fault code just had to reset and all good. Any suggestions? Thanks

The problem is usually because the filter is dirty. I removed my filter and fixed the issue. It restricts the airflow. My unit ended up overheating because the filter was clogged. Take the filter out and don't have your fan speed lower than 5.
If your filter was the issue, you may have some hidden error 4's in the back end which means you have overheated the unit, and may need some parts replaced.
Thanks for your input Steven M. I do keep the filter clean. Checked it anyway and yes it is clean. Unit runs on auto fan speed 8. I am now going to go through the home and away menus to make sure they are all on 8.

The date on our Seeley Magictouch controller keeps reverting to the year 2000 (should be 2020) and the heat goes off on a weekend because it is using weekday settings. Resetting the date doesn’t seem to “stick”. We changed the batteries but the problem still occurs.

Hi, we have had our Seeley MagicTouch unit installed last week and are encountering the same problem. Did you manage to find a solution?
Not a solution, but a work around. We changed the year to 2009. It so happens that the dates and the days of the week are the same. It clearly is a software bug. We also tried changing the year to 2026 and it reverted to 2006.

Mouneasked
We had a Braemar TQ315N series installed on 8th July 2022 by Comfy First Pty Ltd. As it was not working efficiently we have made complaints 3 times and on the 4th visit it was decided we should change the ducts and vents as well. 0n the 5th visit on 22nd July this was done. Still not happy as we have to put it on high and are not getting heat in the lounge. Rang Seeley who sent a technician on 31st July. He changed the control. Told us the lounge is not heating because it is the furthest room to the unit. We NEVER had problem with the old heater we had for 17 years. We rang Seeley again today who will send a technician on Monday. If it cannot be fixed we want the unit taken away. Doesn't Braemar make good units anymore. I've been reading the reviews. It is shocking they all seem to be no good. Where are they being manufactured? Maybe the units should be taken off the market. We really need a unit that works as my husband is very sick with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) & Asthma. Marylin Villemin

Hello Moune.
Seeley International manufacture tens of thousands of units each year in Australia for the local and international market. However each installation is different. As the manufacturer of the product we like to review the steps to this point as there are many factors beyond the unit that can affect its performance. To allow us to review, please send your contact number, address and serial number of the unit to [email protected]. Thank you, Craig
Shocking company to deal with. I am in the process of lodging a formal dispute with Consumer Affairs Victoria. MY unit failed 6 times since instalment in May 2018 and they refusing to give me a new unit. Good luck dealing with them . The above gentleman did little to resolve my issues. Received a carefully worded email from service manager Victoria about when they will replace unit. I am pursuing this matter

I was looking at installing cost effective energy efficient ducted gas heating. I had always thought the brand Braemar was good quality, however after reading the reviews here, I have to say, I will NOT be considering Braemar as an option anymore. I’m Glad that I checked the reviews first in this case.

That's disappointing to hear Jen. Remember that as the Australian manufacturer we sell tens of thousands of these products each year, all designed for the market that we have known for (almost) the last fifty years. Each installation is slightly different, but we are confident that we have a product for everyone. If you do change your mind, you can find a dealer using this link https://www.seeleyinternational.com/residential/find-a-dealer/
Thank you ~ Craig
Jen, do not touch their heaters or deal with this company, I have had multiple failures on my unit since installment in May 2018 and they still won't replace the unit. Found the team arrogant and rude to deal with. Happy to privately forward you the letter I received from Service manager in Victoria
Gary Casked
can I lock in my braemar ecostar duct heating to 22 degrees so nobody can move the temp up or down
1 answer
Seeley I.Braemar
Hello Gary. Depends on the exact model you have but in general there are two ways to do this. One is to activate the child lock on the remote control - but that doesn't stop someone changing it on the unit itself. Alternately you can do it at the unit and this is described on page 3 of the installation manual where it says (again depending on the exact model you have ) - Press and hold the UP button for 3 seconds. The "child lock" indicator will glow orange to show that the controls are locked. When the "child lock" is active all
functions other than OFF are locked. If the heater is turned off while "child lock" is active, it cannot be turned back on until you exit "child lock". To exit "child lock" press and hold the DOWN button again for 3 seconds - the
orange "child lock" indicator will go out. ~ Craig
