Hi everyone, I have a Dedica 685. when the machine draws a shot of coffee water starts leaking underneath. I have checked the tank is firmly in place. The water seems to be coming out of both of the vents on the underside...any thoughts?

Make coffee, then try to generate steamer to froth milk. Steamer comes off, partially heats milk, then goes off. I wait. Press steamer button again. Nothing. EVENTUALLY - sometimes 10 minutes, after turning things on and off, press steam button, machine makes 'garonk, garonk' noise and produces steam in profusion. Any suggestions?

after 15 days of use, the power button of Delonghi dedica ec685, is out of function. I can't press it. Only if I keep it pressed by using my finger, the machine works perfectly. Obviously, the problem is only in button's function. Is there something I can do by myself to fix it?

Has anyone experienced a "leaking reservoir water issue" with their DeLonghi Dedica. If so, how did you handle/fix the situation? Thanks

I've just bought the coffee machine, and after steaming milk, the single and double espresso buttons flash together for three times - I can't seem to find what this means in the instruction booklet, but I have to turn the machine on and off before I can make another coffee.... please help! thanks, Olivia

This confused me also and I have only just found the answer..... in the instructions there is a section about cooling the boiler. Plus a container under the steamer and open the steam dial to deliver hot water and cool the boiler. It stops automatically when the boiler is cool ( pump stops operating and no more water comes through), then close the dial and it’s ready to make another coffee. It’s to stop the coffee being burnt when the boiler is too hot and removing some water add cool water to the boiler and cools it. X

My two cup filter has stopped working, The one cup works, but the two cup just sits there and the pressure increases, no coffee. Any ideas?

Most likely the filter is clogged with tiny coffee particles. Have a look at the answer below using bicarb soda to clean it. Or you can get replacements on eBay (or from Delonghi, more expensive though)

Just got the Dedica machine for my birthday. First time trying to make frothed milk the "too hot" blinking lights went off within seconds of frothing. Annoying. SEcond time I made frothed milk, same thing. Seems odd to have a machine that overheats every time you use a core function like frothing milk. I read other Q's above and they say the answer is descaling, but how can I need to descale if I've never used it before?

Hi. Sounds like it could be faulty. Best off contacting DeLonghi or store where purchased. Mine never did anything like that.

I would guess that you need to reset the machine to run the shots longer. You can find the instruction manual here and it has instructions on how to reset the shot length https://www.delonghi.com/Global/InstructionManuals/EN/EN-Dedica-Pump-Espresso-EC680-im.pdf

Thank's Kat for replying, but I eventually found the problem by removing the coffee filter /strainer cup (which looked perfectly clean) placed it into a steel container with a heap table spoon of Bicarbonate soda mixed with water enough to well cover filter height and place filter in UPSIDE DOWN and bring to the boil for about 5 min, you will then see the water going brown as the tiny holes in the filter clearing. then give it a try and see the difference. This method should be in the instruction book.
Regards,
Joe.

Hello everybody.
I have Delonghi EC685. After using the steamer option for milk, I press on of the first two buttons for coffee, and the machine gets stuck. The first two buttons start constantly flashing three times in white light, and I am unable to make coffee. Only thing I can do is to restart the machine.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks

Hi Georgi,

Restarting the machine after frothing to extract coffee is normal.

While frothing, the thermoblocks temperature is rasied and shut down is needed to lower the temperature.

Dont turn it on and off !!! the buttons are flashing because the machine is too hot for brewing, after using the steamer (and with the vapor button unselected ) just open the steam valve, to purge it, cold water will enter the coil and cool the machine, those lights will stop blinking and u can brew once more :D

Hi everyone, I just bought this machine last week and I have problems frothing the milk. It produces large bubbles and I've already tried to remove the pannarello wand as suggested in previous posts but when I start to froth the milk, the rubber thing that froths the milk pops out! My machine is just new so I know it doesn't need to be descaled. Any suggestions on how to solve this? Has this happened to anyone?
