Animal Hair Beware - it’s gone!
Outstanding suction on this vacuum. It has the capacity to collect large particles through to fine dust and handles a range of floor types from carpet to polished concrete. It comes with an attachment to clean animal hair off material furniture which is amazing. It is outstanding for those with lung health issues.

Great suction vacuum cleaner
This cleaner has great suction and you really notice the difference after using a standard cleaner or even a ducted system. The cord retracts like V8 racing car and is easy to empty as well.
If I had to find a 'fault' it would be that when you remove the barrel to empty it the catch on the bottom of the barrel doesn't always attach/close properly and you end up with a mess on the floor when the bottom flap opens. To be fair I showed the agent this problem and they replaced the barrel for me. I still have to be very careful to manually push to catch to make sure it is closed. It seems to be a design fault. Not sure if it needs a larger clip or what could rectify this but in all I love my Dyson.
Purchased in August 2021 at Dyson for $499.00.

Fantastic vacuum but it does have an issue
My first experience with dyson was with the DC14 which was a great vacuum for it's time, it had no loss of suction and lasted many years. 12 years later the DC14 stopped working and was time for a new vacuum cleaner. Being happy with dyson we bought the Cinetic Big Ball multi floor, this vacuum is different from the others, it has no filter to clean which is great convenience and the canister emptying system is a breeze to use, however I was most impressed with the suction power of this dyson, my carpets were already cleaned but the dyson prove...Read more
d otherwise, it filled its canister with debris that could not be seen on the carpets and that was very impressive, I even vacuumed the car with this dyson and once again the dyson left my car looking very clean and once again I was left impressed. I like the ball technology, it helps with keeping the vacuum cleaner on its wheels instead of upside down or on the side, there were occasions where the vacuum would tip over but due to the ball technology the dyson put itself back on it's wheels and that is something that I am really pleased with. There is however a draw back with this specific model and that is the multi floor muscle head which I found to be a handful, especially on carpet where I found myself wresting my way just to vacuum the carpets which is no good if you are trying to vacuum the whole house the head would get stuck on the carpets, I tried putting the setting on the muscle head to its minimum but I still found myself wresting to get vacuming done. My solution was to buy the dyson turbo head and use that for the carpets and use the multi floor muscle head for the hard floors. Overall I'm really impressed with this vacuum cleaner I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone, however if you are buying the multi floor version you might want to consider buying a turbo head as well, especially if you have carpets as the multi floor muscle head may get stuck regardless of the setting. But if you are looking for a vacuum cleaner that is powerful and easy to use, than this is the perfect vacuum cleaner for you.Purchased in June 2021 at Myer Online Store for $499.00.

Cheap plastic
Clip on the barrel always gets stuck after emptying the barrel and I have to hold down clip to close barrel. Multi floor head works good on timber floors, brought turbo head separately for my rugs. I like the extra tools that come with the vacuum and the cord has a good length. But the vacuum cleaner plastic components feel cheap

Cheap plastic rubbish. Not what you expect from $500 +. Loved my old Dyson, very dissapointed. Hair blocks barrel which needs manual untangling, blocks dirt going into barrel. Musclehead tool plastic has WORN off in 5 months so it now leaves scuffs on timber floor. Asked for refund for faulty lemon, told no only part replacement. And BUY another part. Seriously Dyson, model is a lemon recall it. Customers are fleeing and wont be back.
Purchased in March 2021 at Dyson for $524.00.

It sucks more than it sucks! And not in a good way!
After seeing a heap of recommendations for a Dyson vacuum cleaner, I decided to get a cinetic big ball after my trusty Miele finally blew up. So maybe I’m just an idiot and don’t know how to use the thing properly, or I’ve missed a warning on the instructions in teeny writing saying ‘do not suck anything up bigger than a match head or it’ll block.’ Cos basically that’s what happens. Not only does it block easily, it takes FOREVER taking the thing apart to find which section may be blocked since the hose consists of several stupid bends making i...Read more
t easier to block. I spend more time poking various bendy objects into its numerous holes than I do actually using the thing, Im sure if it could orgasm, it would! Thank god the hose comes apart into 100 pieces because it’s the only practical part of the bloody vacuum! And the barrel is ridiculously small, it fills up quickly and is a nightmare to empty! I can’t just tip the crap out, I have to shake the crap out of it and poke things into that part of it too! It gets more pokes than me! I swear those who do recommend them just jump on the bandwagon about how good they are and have never actually used one. The next person I see recommend one, I’m going to demand to see a pic of them holding it because I’m sure that many people can’t be that in love with this piece of rubbish!Similar opinion? Really Not fit for purpose
We replaced our decade old purple Dyson which was easily the best vac we'd ever had. This model has some really fundamental design problems. The attachment holder obstructs access to the wand. The want will not sit in the slot meant to hold it when being stored. It falls out every single time. Slot provided just not adequate to hold it but worse is when in use it will blows puffs of fine dust out of the air outtake vent on the back. Its enough dust that we can easily see it coming out and it covers the vacuum in dust. We won't gamble our health or another $700 with Dyson

Great suction, very hard to move
I just replaced my 5 year old Dyson with the Cineric Big Ball Multifloor. Unlike my previous Dyson, this one is very difficult to move along the wooden floors, I find I need to hold with two hands while vacuuming. And it only moves in a straight line so it’s hard to change directions while vacuuming. Is there another attachment to make it move more smoothly?

Disappointing
This is the 2nd machine I have had, as I took the first one back after 6 months due to a high pitch sound constantly from the handle, this one is now doing the same thing, my multi floor head is leaving rubber marks all over my bamboo flooring, so I need to make sure I vacuum in direct straight lines to try and avoid this. The clip on the canister often opens when you lift it out to clean and drops all the dirt everywhere so you have to make sure you hold it shut when lifting out. Seriously would look at another brand next time.

Very poor performer
Use this over couple of moths now. The multi floor attachment is like a suction cup and it does not move on the floor. We have vinyl planks and tiles and it sticks to both. Vacuuming with this is like using a rowing machine in a gym. I am at a loss to see how it passed the quality control at Dyson..! The Bag has a flimsy holder and it often opens on to the unit when you detach the unit. Absolutely horrible unit and regret buying this. This is going to be the last Dyson I bought, no more of these over prized and clearly inferior products. Dyson has lost the edge and passion. This is a proof of that.

Lasted 7 minutes
Took a brand new one home from work to try out. Started out well. Next thing something gets stuck in the inlet just far enough to not be reached. Now its suction is useless and its idiotic design wont allow you to get into it to clear the obstruction. Think I will stick to the 25 year old electrolux my Grandmother once had

Horrible
Purchased the Dyson big ball canister vacuum in May of 2017 for $500. Worse vacuum we have ever owned. Numerous issues since receiving. Recently the vacuum was emitting a horrendous odor. In a desperate attempt I ran water thru the filter area of the unit. Out poured black mold for over 15 minutes. This hazardous mold has been sent airborne thru the vacuum into my home.
I explained fully the issue and steps I took to Dyson who instructed me to send the unit to their service "professionals". This vacuum was sent with a full explanation of the s...Read more
ituation. Received a call from a local service facility telling me it would cost over $150 to thoroughly clean the vacuum because there was water. I tried telling him to read the note which clearly explained why water was used. He would not listen that the smell existed prior to an attempted cleaning and continues telling me the smell was due to the water. Avoid Dyson products. Inferior product with poor, rude customer service.Purchased in May 2021 for $499.99.

I absolutely HATE this machine
Bought 4th July 2018 for $508.18 from Billy Guyatts
Simply put this vacuum is a terrible vacuum in every metric that counts.
We have the multi-floor variant with the muscle head and it is primarily used on porcelain tiles and timber floors. It is also used on two small carpeted rooms, but its main use is on hard floors, for which it is supposedly suited.
The things it does well:
* it turn on
The things it does badly:...Read more
* more likely to push things around than suck them up * has almost no edge suction * Clogs constantly. Suck up a scrap of paper the size of a postage stamp. The "muscle" head will clog. Suck up some thing like a scrunched up bit of paper the size of a marble and it will jam INSIDE the cylinder. Dried leaf - jam, random bit of kids crap - jam, an offcut bit of toast on the floor - jam. * the head is narrow - never thought of this before buying it, but the head is narrow, at least 30% less than my electrolux I had before so it takes 30% longer to vacuum the same area. * The power lead is short. So short I have to use an extension lead to actually reach every part of the house. * the actual suction is pathetic. Want to grab that bit of crap down in the runner of your sliding door? You will have to get the narrow fittings out because without the fittings to narrow the intakes there is hardly any suction at all * Emptying the tank is a mission. The slide to release the base of the tank doesn't like moving and once you have emptied it you need to wrangle it down, lift bits with your finger nails because it wont slide and get covered in dust to close it. * WORST part is the tank will often open as you remove it from the body! The bottom of the tank is held on with a tiny clip that relies on the latent spring in moulded plastic. It is not a positive fitting and 50% of the time I end up with all the crap dumped over the machine when I remove the tank. First photo shows the clip and how it has popped. * If you have people with long hair in your house hold the hair will bind around the steel mesh filter inside the tank. This will drop the suction by half in next to no time and this machine doesn't have any suction to spare. Second photo shows hair clogging after 10 mins. * the ball rolls over constantly. Sure it rights itself, but it just rolls over itself constantly. In summary, for hard floors a broom is 1000000 times better. For everything else a $40 vacuum from Kmart would destroy it. I've had this vacuum for over 6 months now and every time I use it it makes me angry. The trigger for this review was yet another dump of its tank all over itself when I tried to empty it. Do yourself a favour, buy literally ANY other machine on the market. A dustbuster with a dying battery would be a better investment.Purchased in July 2021 at Billy Guyatts for $508.18.

Very happy!!!
I purchased my first Dyson when I moved out from home and it is the best household item I've bought! Great suction and first easy to move around the house. I love the hardwood floor head attachment, it does not scratch my newly polished floor board. I loved it so much, I went and bought a Dyson handstick for spot clean!!!

Very good especially for pets owners
We bought this Dyson in August last year and it is our very first Dyson. It cleans much better than all the other vacum cleaners we have had. It performs excellent on the carpet sucking up the animal hair! With all the older vacum cleaners we usually have to go back and forth a few times to vacum up most of the hair however with Dyson, it is much easier. I do notice that the fluff and dust accummulate around the legs of our dinning chair seem to reduce significantly. However the trap door of the barrel seem to be a bit difficult to shut after a...Read more

Love Dyson but so disappointed in this vacuum cleaner
I found it very heavy to use, the suction head was impossible to push through the carpet, so, after my initial very expensive purchase, I then had to pay over $100 more to buy the turbinehead, which works well but the barrel holding the dust is so small I am having to empty at least three times during each vacuum of my house otherwise the powerhead will not suck up the dust.
I loved my old vacuum cleaner, again a Dyson and the only reason I bought a new one was because they have stopped making the filters for my old cleaner.
To answer the question, it does tip over if it comes into contact will large objects but rights itself, so no, no problem with tipping.

I have the Dyson big ball multi floor, when I use it on the timber floors it is leaving a rubber streak everywhere.
It looks like scratches but when I rub it comes away. I can’t really walk around the whole house afterwards rubbing off all the marks. I’ve tried adjusting the suction.

I got Dyson Cinetic Big Ball and used for Carpet, and I am not totally satisfied. Looking at the reviews and comments, I thought I got the right vacuum, but, looks like I got wrong one to use for carpet. This model come with a flat head with blue rubber thing which makes it hard to drag as well.
Any idea, if this is the correct model to use for the carpet or I have to buy another accessories to get it working in carpet?

Hi there,
Thank you for your query, we are happy to help.
We can confirm all Dyson Cinetic Big Ball machines are suitable for use on carpets and hard floors. The Musclehead of your machine will automatically adjust between the two surfaces. That being said, if you do find the head hard to push, we encourage you to move the red slider on the front of the head away from the "MAX" setting, this should make the machine easier to push.
I hope this helps, however if we can assist further, please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be happy to assist further.
Best wishes,
