Purchased a machine for $950 the machine broke within three years called customer service they don’t want to service and fix machine as the machine six month after warranty people pay for the big brand like Dyson expecting Quality service and quality product in my case I didn’t get the Quality product and I didn’t get the quality service such a shame
Dyson is trying to convince me that this machine is the best and buy looking the review looks like a big lie

Disappointed

published

My Dyson doesn’t have a problem tipping over but it has very little suction and doesn’t seem to pick up everything off the floor. My $50 aldi vacuum cleaner did a better job. Purchasing my Dyson was a very big regret as it was not cheap and I expected it to work much better. There is no way I will ever purchase another Dyson

Worst vacuum cleaner. The dc54 is the biggest waste of money ever. Suction bad brush wear is shockin

published

Sometimes it tips over but I don’t vac every day I expected more from a Dyson cleaner . I have had brush problems since purchasing and after paying for the cleaner how can you afford to buy new brushes. It doesn’t hold much dust and getting it from the sides of the canister is ridiculous,so disappointed.

Worst vacuum ever

published

This would have to be the worst vacuum I have ever purchased. Suction is atrocious, emptying of the smallest barrel is a nightmare, tips over easily and now after only about 2 years the pet head has given up. Would never recommend Dyson to anyone. I’ll be going back to Rainbow again next time.

A Nightmare

published

This would have to be the worst cleaner I have ever purchased I am constantly emptying the barrel not because it has good suction but because the hair and dust get caught and emptying it is also a nightmare I am lucky I am not asthmatic as I probably would have been hospitalized by now ...... Also tips over regularly.

very disappointing

published

A most expensive mistake. Difficult to wheel around, gets caught on corners etc easily, mediocre suction power. Emptying the waste out is dreadful. Very hard to do this without spilling dust and getting hands dirty. We will never buy another Dyson after this. Try before you buy and avoid this one at all costs.

An Expesive Dissapointment

published

My sister and I purchased x 2 the Dyson DC54, it was highly recommended by my sister who had owned for many years an old model Dyson which she raved about. Its an expensive purchase especially when you discover the suction of this machine is below average and the cleaning or emptying of this machine is nothing short of a nightmare the hair circling around the cylinder getting stuck having to use your hand while dust particles linger everywhere. The hand rail not positioned comfortably. Really disappointing but like most people persevering as it costs so much. A below average product, you wonder before releasing to the public, did anyone actually trial it? We got stung twice.

Worst purchase ever

This vacuum is not worth the money it cost. If I paid $300 instead of $800 I would say it is worth it maybe. The suction is terrible, it sucks light stuff off the floor but a piece of thick cotton or similar you have to go over it 3 or 4 times before it sucks it up. I bought a $79 vacuum from Kmart and it does a better job than the $800 dyson.
I will never buy another Dyson product.

Such a pain to clean

published

Suction is average, but not too bad. Sometimes have to go over the same area several times which is frustrating. Definitely the worst part about this machine is the emptying. I have persisted with it because of the cost, but it makes such a mess. Would not buy again. Disappointed.

DON'T!!!!

published

Loved my first dyson... upgraded to the animal complete… hard to clean… hard floor tool doesn't pick up… I have persisted with this machine because I could not afford another $900 to replace it. Engine blows up… Dyson tells me its my fault… That machine has been cleaned and emptied every time I use it... I payed for product care... apparently its not covered… waste of money… I wont be buying another one… they also want $300 to repair it… not likely…

All purchases on this machine should be refunded

published

My daughter has had nothing but trouble with this DC54 vacumm cleaner since it was purchased. All the bad reviews should be taken seriously and all complainants should be refunded money paid or gift vouchers to replace with another model. I have bought Dyson products for years, and this is changing my mind of ever purchasing this brand again

Never had an issue

published

This was the first time I spent big on a vacuum and I have to say, the Dyson DC54 Animal Pro has been fantastic. Have owned this one for almost four years now and it just keeps on keeping on. The accessories really benefit the pickup of cat hair and sand among other things, also useful for cleaning the car. The heads need cleaning fairly regularly and once a year I pull it apart and give the insides a good clean with a brush and a can of air.

I'm not very partial to cordless vacuums, so I'm going to stick with this one for a few more years while they improve on the battery longevity.

First Dyson vac - best I have ever had

published

I love all the ends, for dusting, blinds, wood floors, carpets, corners - haven't yet worked all of them out. Suction is stronger than any other vac I had had before. Also love that it looks like a space-dog/animal and can get around easily. And just empties its guts easily - no bags, and retracts its tail-cord fast. Only thing is when the dust gets caught in the outer part of the see-through barrel it is hard to scrape out with the tiny scraper. Still easily the best vacuum I had ever had and I will be loyal.

My multifloor is dead. Discontinued for a reason

published

Didn’t vacuum hard floor kicked the dirt around. Bin gets filled easily and is hard to empty. Only used this machine about 50 times and now it’s dead. Been 3 months Dyson won’t take calls anymore as there call centre is jammed. Should have listened to the sales person when he said you’ll be back for the cheaper brand.

Glad it's discontinued. Definitely a RIP off!

published

I am now using my original dyson from 2001 that was much easier to empty. I am hesitant to update with another newer model. I was initially impressed by extra suction, however emptying the machine after each room vacuumed was exhausting. Inhaling clouds of dust every time definitely put me off doing this chore.

This can clean and suck!!!

published

The suction on this model is pretty amazing. Ive seen other vacuums clean but this one you can tell everything has been thoroughly cleaned!!! Didnt expect anything less from a Dyson.

My only irk with this model that didn't reach it's 5 star potential is clearing the filter when its full. It looks easy but the silver button doesn't come out as easily esp when hair and stuff are tangled on it whilst you're inhaling all the dust.

Worst vacuum cleaner I have ever had!

published

After being very happy with my Dyson for many years I didn't hesitate to immediately by another based on trust and not research. BIG mistake!! So many faults to list, mainly design but also a much cheaper build than previous models. Suction quality is basic, relys on Motörhead, that on hard floors spins and kicks debris out the back of it. Emptying is a nightmare. Very messy, that involves digging in to the barrel to pull out debri. Maintenance is high as debri is often getting stuck in narrow openings in the machine. Can't wait to replace it! My handheld does a better job than this machine. Would never by a Dyson again. Rubbish!!

Will brush head off dc26 FITB my dc54

The DC26 and DC54 machines share the same type of connector, so any accessories that came with your DC26 will fit the DC54. That being said, we would encourage using the cleaner head that came with each machine. This is as they are each optimised for the type of machine they came with. While they will fit across both machines, the performance may not be optimal.

If your machine is experiencing a loss of suction, we would kindly ask you to run through the checks outlined here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PheQ00a_urU

These should help get your Dyson DC54 back up and running as it should do, however if not, or if we can assist further, please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be in touch and happy to provide further assistance.

Please be assured the Cyclones for the DC54 are the same across the DC54 range with the colour being the only difference. There would be no issue swapping the cyclones as long as they are Genuine Dyson DC54 Parts.
